Central Hotel

The hotel is in a great location, just off Princes St and easily walkable from the train station. Reception is warm and welcoming and the entrance was attractive and well decorated.

We were on the 5th floor, sadly the lift was broken on arrival and broke again during our stay. Not good with luggage.

Our room turned out to be fitted for a disabled person - not good when your hubby is over 6ft and the sink is at about his knees when he tries to shave! (Slight exaggeration!)

Can't understand why able bodied people were put in this room. Told reception on departure and they said we should have spoken up earlier and we'd have been moved! Possibly so, but if there were regular rooms available, why were we not there to start off? Another couple we met in the lift also complained of being in a disabled room!

My advice is to ask room type as your room is allocated, on arrival, before you leave reception!

Although I am a Platinum Elite member I only got an upgrade because the room that was allocated to me wasn't available at time of check-in. I was under the impression that upgrades were automatic if available, obviously there were upgrades available at the time of check-in, but they weren't going to be offered to me at that time, very poor....
