The morning after...

platinumelite

Great room, great venue, great location, great reception team....

Breakfast - Ordered a cooked breakfast, forgot the beans, poached egg wasn't runny and had to ask for my brown sauce twice... However, to top it all off, the reason why 99.9% of the worlds population slice a grapefruit vertically is so you leave the pith behind, the 0.1% of the worlds population who slice a grapefruit horizontally work here... It looks pretty but you're left with pith in your mouth with every mouthful... STOP!!!!

Could do better

By

November 21, 2014

It's the little things. In theory, excellent hotel in a great location. However, Internet didn't work (major problem as I was on a business trip and had work to do), the bathroom fan was very noisy, the fire doors made a horrible noise every time they were opened and shut, the LCD display in the lift didn't work so you didn't know what floor you were on. It wouldn't take much for this to move from 6/10 to 8/10 as exceptionally competitively priced. I hate it when I take additional pillows off the bed only to find they have been returned the following day.

Small room

By

November 20, 2014

The hotel was in a great location. The general area of the hotel area was good but our stay was spoilt by the size of the room. I have stayed in many hotels in many countries over the years but I have never stayed in a room where there was so little room beyond the end of the bed. A stay of longer than one night would have been intolerable. There should have been a warning about the room size at the time of booking. For the price, therefore, very disappointing. When I checkedcout, eve the receptionist acknowledged that the room size was small!

Hotel feels like a conference hotel

By

November 18, 2014

I'll start with the positives, in which the hotel staff are polite, helpful and very friendly and very professional.

Rooms are clean, facilities and features are also as you'd expect.

The downside was that the room was noisy as it was on the George Street side and right over the bar.

The pillows were like bricks.

TV's are locked down so you can't plug in any external devices, which is a bit annoying when you are there the entire week with limited TV channel choices.

The wifi was also incredibly slow and unreliable as it kept dropping out and I couldn't stream anything.

Hotel feels like a conference hotel, I certainly wouldn't stay here if it was for leisure purposes.
