This was my second long-term stay at this property. I stayed in early December 2012 for a two-week period and again in April 2013, for 10-days. This hotel is as perfect for the business traveler as it is for couples or families. On both visits, I noticed airline crews and many business people in the hotel restaurant. The hotel changes somewhat on the weekend, as they often host weddings or formal dances during the weekend. I checked in late on a Friday in April 2013, when a dance was finishing up. There were a lot of high school/early college age guests in the lobby at the time of my check-in. I was assured that quiet would be enforced at 11pm. The hotel rooms are so well constructed that I doubt I would have been disturbed even if the partying continued into the wee hours. In the 24 nights I have spent in the hotel, I was never disturbed by noise coming from another room, the hallway, or the street outside. (Note: I have stayed on the 3rd and 5th floor only.) The rooms are large and well kept, with comfortable beds, pillows, and quality linens. I especially like that the bedsheets are changed daily.
Room Tip: Avoid rooms on the second floor. Apparently, music from the ballroom filters to that floor. Ask for a room in the "quiet zone" of the hotel. This wing of the hotel has a sign posted, asking for quiet during certain hours.
I appreciate the free secure WI-FI. They also have at least two business centers that I visited (in the lobby and on the fifth floor) where I could use their computer and printer. I signed up for their (free) Priority Club back in December, which entitled me to complimentary breakfast and happy hour each day. They offer a full breakfast buffet (eggs, bacon/sausage, bagels, toast, muffins, fruit, cereal, yogurt, pastries, etc.), but it took me a while to figure out I could also order from the menu. They sometimes have pancakes or French toast on the buffet, but I could order items like that from the menu, prepared fresh on any day I pleased.
They have a small fitness center, with which I have an issue. They have cleaning wipes in a dispenser on the wall. These wipes are dried out and useless. I mentioned this to George, the front desk manager on duty the day I checked out, in the hope they could correct this problem in the future. Hopefully, they will at least place a bottle of spray cleaner in the fitness center so that guests can wipe the sweat off the cardio machines. I was happy to see towels and a water cooler in the fitness center, as well as the ubiquitous TV.
The hotel is conveniently located on busy Route 27. I was able to easily drive to nearby towns of Highland Park, Metuchen, and New Brunswick. Shopping near the hotel is convenient -- there is a Costco and a WalMart about a mile from the hotel. I recommend this hotel and will definitely stay there if I am in the area again.

I stay at this property at least once every 2 months or so. I have always had a pleasant experience and would highly recommend this Crowne Plaza. At my most current stay I encountered a problem in the bathroom. Staff was sent immediately to fix the problem. Hotel staff was very nice and attentive.
I will continue staying at the Crowne Plaza!

This hotel proved to be excellent for our recent stay and we would stay there again! The staff was great and the room large, clean and quiet. The bed and bedding were very comfortable. Even though it's an older hotel, it was great!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Wolfso Room OK, reception service not great and hotel with no alchohol
I have stayed at this hotel 3 times before since my company puts me up there, but I would never choose to stay there at my own will. As a seasoned business traveler, there is nothing wrong with asking for a glass of wine or whisky with my meals, but I could not believe that such a hotel, with a well known restaurant did not have a liquor license and could not serve alcohol.
The room was very comfortable but no water pressure in the shower. The reception staff were OK - nothing to write home about.

I stay at holiday inns about 50-60 nights a year. Just before I went to bed I used the bath room and found that brown water was bubbling up from the drain in the tube. Yes, coming up from the drain. I called the front desk and they told me maintenance was gone for the night… I explained that this is a real issue and that someone should come up ASAP. Someone did with a plunger and said we will move you to a different room tomorrow. NO way I said, I am not showering in that tube tomorrow morning! They moved me from my Jr suite to a standard room. The room stunk of smoke. I called the front desk and told them and also inquired why I could not be moved to another suite and the said they were out…. I cancelled my stay for the following evening. I was told the manager would be notified. I complete a survey and asked to be contacted by management. I have heard nothing!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by WildWonderfulJenny My goal was to be close to a relative to attend christening.
Our room was confused with another which caused housekeeping to put our actual room on ignor. Happened upon housekeeper who also thought we were in another room. Room keys inactivated. Just little things that did not add to our stay.
May have been understaffed for the number of rooms and banquet for that weekend
