This was a king-size room and I was impressed with the cleanliness of the room and bathroom. Very satisfied with the service and the room was facing the courtyard, so it was serene and quiet.
The TV's remote control was a little too complicated and kept reverting back to pay movies when just watching the free regular TV channels. But, other than that, overall it is an excellent hotel choice and I would gladly stay with Crowne Plaze in Edison again!

The best I can say is that the bed was very comfortable. I slept much better than I usually do in a hotel. The fan in my bathroom did not work, so shaving after a shower was difficult. I bubbling from my sink, which woke me a couple times and it drained slow. The conference room I was in did not have good HVAC, it was either cold or hot. The food is good, but overpriced. The hotel workers were great and the place is very clean.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by VaGuy08 Nice Place to Stay
I have stayed at this property before and likely will again. It's very nice, the rooms are large and comfortable, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the rates are reasonable. There are several places nearby to eat and shop including a good bakery across the street.
I would not recommend the inhouse restaurant. The food, in my opinion, is somewhat overpriced and I was served undercooked chicken. I did not discover that until I was half through the dish; fortunately I didn't get sick.
One piece of advice. My GPS wouldn't recognize the Lincoln Highway address. I used State Route 27 instead and that worked.

Hotel is very good and I would stay again or recommend it.
NEED COFFEE AVAILABLE IN THE LOBBY EARLY IN THE MORNING BEFORE THE RESTAURANT OPENS.
Some people are up early particularly at checkout when they are catching flights or other transportation.
Right next to the water in the lobby needs to be fresh coffee.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Steve1961 I stay here a lot...it's a great hotel!
I typically stay at this hotel 2 nights every week and I can say with confidence that this is a hotel well worth the money. The staff is consistently friendly and helpful and they go above and beyond the call of duty to make each stay a positive and enjoyable experience. The staff is to be commended for making this hotel my home away from home and not just a hotel I have to stay at a lot. Job well done Edison Crown Plaza!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by slmc57 great location for attending functions at Pines Manor but....
....for a "Crowne Plaza" property this hotel was in bad shape...bathroom ceiling peeling, room was old and worn looking...lighting in bedroom and bath was awful....the check in folks were friendly and helpful as was the manager...desperately needs renovation!!!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by AGFR Slight Lack of Communication
Most of the staff was extremely curtious. The front desk was extremely helpful. Unfortunately, the housekeeping staff was a little pushy. I understand they need to get their job done, but I was given a late checkout for 2 pm. The housekeeping staff knocked on my door 3 times, even with the "Do Not Disturb" out asking when I'll be leaving. Somewhere there was a lack of communication. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay & will reccomed to others.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Barb449 Great hotel experience at a great price
I stayed one night in this hotel and deem it a real "find." I would definitely stay again. The room was very large, clean and comfortable. It is reasonably close to NYC at far far less than NYC prices. The staff couldn't have been nicer. I stayed here a week ago and have already recommended to others.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by patmcpsu Can't ask for much more
We stayed here for one night as a stopover on our way into NYC.
The hotel itself it very nice, with large and luxurious rooms. It is located in the middle of a corporate park, which is a bit awkward but by no means a deal-breaker.
The complimentary breakfast buffet, by hotel standards, is very good. I don't understand the negative reviews posted by other people who were expecting a fine dining experience out of it.

Was NEVER greated upon entering the loby. Had to ask front desk staff if I could check in (they were too busy talking) Once I was acknowledged for check in I was not greated but asked for my I.D. and credit card. Nothing was explained (such as room # or location or that I had booked with breakfast, and told I have vouchers for that with my room key). I will not stay at this location ever again. In fact I asked to be moved to another property but none were available. My stay was ultimately compted due to poor service. DO NOT STAY HERE!!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by JTNY Room is nice but not the breakfast
Overall, the front desk customer service is nice. The room is clean and roomy.
We have stayed saturday night, and the sunday breakfast was disappointed. There is not enough people working to serve all customer. We asked for breakfast menu, but the waiter was telling us there is no breakfast menu today, all they have is buffet. The kitchen was not able to keep up the cooking for buffet service. The choices of buffet are poor. Very limited choice of food.
Ironically, the table next to us has breakfast menu, I was wondering if the waiter was lazy. The breakfast was the WORST breakfast in the hotel we ever had.

I had a great stay at this property. I had to work in the area last minute. I checked in after nearly a day of travel and was greeted as if they have known me for years. The night receptionist was very friendly and my room was clean and comfortable.

There were 4 people in the room with 2 small double beds. The hotel was not full but yet there were no rollaway beds available. We had to call to get a mini fridge and there was no vent in the bathroom. Breakfast buffet was average and there is no pool. On the other hand, the service was excellent and the staff went out of their way to help. It was very clean and it has a pleasant atmosphere.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed82 POOR STAFF AND PLANNING
I stayed here for a wedding and was expecting much better service. The staff incorrectly booked my nights not once, but twice. And although they did correctly book me under the appropriate wedding party, I was one of the only ones. They repeatedly told people who were booking under a wedding that there were no available rooms left, even though when the bride called they stated there were plenty of rooms available under their block. They did this so the bride and groom could not get a free room on their own wedding night, which is horrible and completely untasteful. Besides all this, they also did not book us all in the same general area. We were spread out through the entire hotel, which made it an issue after the wedding. A bunch of my family members and close friends stayed at the hotel, hoping to have a few more drinks and conversations after the wedding considering we haven't seen each other all in a long time. However, when we all got together in one of our suites, we were harassed (BANGING on our conjoining door and screaming profanities) by a neighboring room for being "too loud", even though there were two people sleeping safe and sound in the same room, not hearing a peep. This all could have been avoided if the staff did their job correctly and booked us on the same floor, or at the very least had a member of the wedding party in the conjoining room of the suite. I would NEVER recommend this location to anyone for their wedding night. What should have been a wonderful, joyous night was anything but.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Sarah12345 Great Front Desk Staff but Poor Housekeeping
The front desk and breakfast staff were great. At the front desk there was a a clerk, I believe her name was China who was very friendly and helpful. Definitely an asset!
We stayed three nights. Our room was barely cleaned each day. We didn't get any new toiletries (including hand soap) until the last night when we finally called and asked for it. We then got things like body wash that were never in our room originally.
I dropped a wrapper next to a trash our first night and while I'd normally pick it up at 8 months pregnant its a little difficult to bend down. It stayed there the entire stay. As did the name a guest sometime before us wrote in the steam in the bathroom mirror. The shower wasn't touched for cleaning because the soap wrapper stayed where it was our entire stay as did the cap of the shampoo I dropped (again I'd normally pick stuff up but its a little hard).

The staff at this particular hotel is absolutely awesome. The Front Desk is very warm, friendly and courteous. I recommend the Edison Crowne Plaza to all my colleagues and friends. They demonstrate professionalism in the highest regards. I watched them check in a group of Asian tourist who spoke very little English and they exemplified the highest of patience with each and every guest.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Vicky22 Expected more from a hotel called the crown plaza
Double beds .... Should be Queen size
The room was only made up after 3pm
We requested a fridge because of dietary issues
The fridge was not in the room when we arrived , had to request it from front desk .... Wht was brought to the room had seen better days it actually froze everything inside and it did not have a control to contrôlée temperature
The bathroom door opens up into the room and the opposite way than it should .... Who thought of the layout, the bathtub did not drain properly not did the sink. And there was no fan for ventilation .
Was not impressed .

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by MartiG Highly recommended
This was my second long-term stay at this property. I stayed in early December 2012 for a two-week period and again in April 2013, for 10-days. This hotel is as perfect for the business traveler as it is for couples or families. On both visits, I noticed airline crews and many business people in the hotel restaurant. The hotel changes somewhat on the weekend, as they often host weddings or formal dances during the weekend. I checked in late on a Friday in April 2013, when a dance was finishing up. There were a lot of high school/early college age guests in the lobby at the time of my check-in. I was assured that quiet would be enforced at 11pm. The hotel rooms are so well constructed that I doubt I would have been disturbed even if the partying continued into the wee hours. In the 24 nights I have spent in the hotel, I was never disturbed by noise coming from another room, the hallway, or the street outside. (Note: I have stayed on the 3rd and 5th floor only.) The rooms are large and well kept, with comfortable beds, pillows, and quality linens. I especially like that the bedsheets are changed daily.
Room Tip: Avoid rooms on the second floor. Apparently, music from the ballroom filters to that floor. Ask for a room in the "quiet zone" of the hotel. This wing of the hotel has a sign posted, asking for quiet during certain hours.
I appreciate the free secure WI-FI. They also have at least two business centers that I visited (in the lobby and on the fifth floor) where I could use their computer and printer. I signed up for their (free) Priority Club back in December, which entitled me to complimentary breakfast and happy hour each day. They offer a full breakfast buffet (eggs, bacon/sausage, bagels, toast, muffins, fruit, cereal, yogurt, pastries, etc.), but it took me a while to figure out I could also order from the menu. They sometimes have pancakes or French toast on the buffet, but I could order items like that from the menu, prepared fresh on any day I pleased.
They have a small fitness center, with which I have an issue. They have cleaning wipes in a dispenser on the wall. These wipes are dried out and useless. I mentioned this to George, the front desk manager on duty the day I checked out, in the hope they could correct this problem in the future. Hopefully, they will at least place a bottle of spray cleaner in the fitness center so that guests can wipe the sweat off the cardio machines. I was happy to see towels and a water cooler in the fitness center, as well as the ubiquitous TV.
The hotel is conveniently located on busy Route 27. I was able to easily drive to nearby towns of Highland Park, Metuchen, and New Brunswick. Shopping near the hotel is convenient -- there is a Costco and a WalMart about a mile from the hotel. I recommend this hotel and will definitely stay there if I am in the area again.

I stay at this property at least once every 2 months or so. I have always had a pleasant experience and would highly recommend this Crowne Plaza. At my most current stay I encountered a problem in the bathroom. Staff was sent immediately to fix the problem. Hotel staff was very nice and attentive.
I will continue staying at the Crowne Plaza!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Wolfso Room OK, reception service not great and hotel with no alchohol
I have stayed at this hotel 3 times before since my company puts me up there, but I would never choose to stay there at my own will. As a seasoned business traveler, there is nothing wrong with asking for a glass of wine or whisky with my meals, but I could not believe that such a hotel, with a well known restaurant did not have a liquor license and could not serve alcohol.
The room was very comfortable but no water pressure in the shower. The reception staff were OK - nothing to write home about.

I stay at holiday inns about 50-60 nights a year. Just before I went to bed I used the bath room and found that brown water was bubbling up from the drain in the tube. Yes, coming up from the drain. I called the front desk and they told me maintenance was gone for the night… I explained that this is a real issue and that someone should come up ASAP. Someone did with a plunger and said we will move you to a different room tomorrow. NO way I said, I am not showering in that tube tomorrow morning! They moved me from my Jr suite to a standard room. The room stunk of smoke. I called the front desk and told them and also inquired why I could not be moved to another suite and the said they were out…. I cancelled my stay for the following evening. I was told the manager would be notified. I complete a survey and asked to be contacted by management. I have heard nothing!
