Spent 2 nights in hotel last week whilst seeing Il Divo. Stayed in Club Rooms and would have to compliment Kevin who was the host in the Club Lounge on Monday 8th. Really cheery and looked after all guests very well.
Bar was extremely busy on Tuesday night before concert but staff coped well and service and food were excellent.

I stayed at the 'crown plaza ' on a b&b basis whilst attending the secc as I have done on several occasions before, and as usual it was first class .The room had everything to make your stay an enjoyable experience , the only thing we missed out on was' pre show dinner ' in the resteraunt as it was fully booked, managed eventually to share a table in the bar but will be sure to book the resteraunt at the same time as the hotel in future ! .

So glad i booked this hotel for two nights, was in Glasgow to see IL Divo at the Secc and it was absolutely wonderful. My room overlooked the Armadillo and the River Clyde and it had a walkway inside the hotel to get to the SECC so i didn't have to go outside in the cold at all!
Breakfast was wonderful and i had a heavenly swim in the pool.
Would definately recommend this hotel to anyone.

Do not eat at the Resteraunt . Expensive, small portions and poor quality. I had a prawn starter £7.50 5 tasteless frozen prawns on toast with 15 wilted rocket leaves!!!!
Ceaser salad!!!! Lettuce drenched in ceaser sauce, pale insipid croutons , parmesan shavings at the bottom lying in the sauce and the dryest small chicken breast dumped on the top!!!! Appalling.
Moaned about it and had the reply that the chef will work on it in future!!!! What a joke.
Rooms have no windows to open and an air system that is the noisiest I have ever heard.!!!!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by MrsBrown60 Good service but very uncomfortable bed
Room was clean and tidy but the bed was uncomfortable.....no mattress topper or suchlike and pillows all the same firmness also the sheets had way too much starch in them ...they actually took the skin off my elbows . I wouldn't have mentioned any of this if it were not for the leaflets left in the room boasting about how much effort they had put into making their beds the ultimate sleep experience .
Failed miserably ...

We had a lovely time at the Crowne Plaza. Room was very clean and comfortable. Hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. We were attending a concert at the SECC and found the fact you didn't even have to venture outside to get there an added bonus. Couldn't fault this hotel food was very good too. The only thing I was disappointed with was that there was no tea in the room only coffee or hot chocolate.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Grandpa2435 Mid Week Stay
We have stayed in the Crowne Plaza Glasgow several times and have always enjoyed the experience. For the first time for a while we stayed mid week and have to say it was the usual pleasant experience enhanced by it being a little quieter than the usual weekend visit we have had. Club room up to its usual standard but with new flat screen TV. Club lounge excellent as usual but marred slightly by room being over-warm coupled with noisy air conditioning which presumaably was working overtime trying to reduce temperature. Minor inconvenience and certainly won't stop us returning. Staff, as usual, very helpful and polite without the usual "bland" standard rhetoric about hotel and facilities - pleasant change which made you feel more welcome.

stayed recently whilst attending a concert at SECC - great place to stay for this purpose as you don't need to go out at all, great if the weathers bad, you just walk right through to the SECC - you have everything you need for a very comfortable stay and all the staff are very helpful, will use this hotel again

Overall experience was very good indeed, the only issue I had with the hotel was the booking of a standard room which I assumed was a double room. Unfortunately I was allocated a twin which was not satisfactory. I was upgraded the second night and this was fine. When booking on the website there should be a clear choice between a double or a twin room so there is no disappointment on arrival.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Scott68 Exc Room
The room was clean and comfortable (Appartment from the pillows) ,although it was disappointing to find the the Exc lounge is not big enough to accommodate everyone that has access ,as we were there at a busy time and it was standing room only. I don't think the premium rate is worth the cost.
Also it is hard to get a seat in the bar/lounge area when the hotel is busy.
Staff were friendly and helpfull and breakfast was very good.

Room very comfortable, however right behind lifts which were noisy, however on mentioning this at desk in the morning at checkout, we got complimentary parking for our inconvenience, cant ask for more than that. Absolutely ideal for going to a show. Would stay there again.

Love the Crowne Plaza, stayed here on a few occasions. Very comfortable room. Upgraded to the executive lounge, which is great value, especially if you can book early.
We ate in the bar, food great, no complaints at all.
Breakfast next morning has plenty of variety and all very fresh.
Wil return again as I love this note.

my wife and i stayed in the hotel after the mrs brown concert in the sccc, which was excellent. unfortunatly there was an irritating noise in our room which i think was something to do with the air conditioning. despite trying to ignore it we could not sleep. i complained at the reception desk at about five in the morning and a member of staff came to the room, confirmed there was a noise and offered us another room which seemed pointless at that time in the morning. but we did get a part refund on the room. the staff were excellent/ helpfull and understanding and i would stay there again.

Perfect location for SECC. Didnt even have to outside to get there and no getting stuck in traffic trying to leave the venue. Had a great time in the pool, sauna, steam room and jaccuzi in the morning. Breakfast was excellent and we hardly ate anything else for the rest of the day as we got so much to eat.

Had a great few days at the Crown Plaza Glasgow . Hotel was excellent . Had our dinner and breakfast in the resturant it was delicious . Club Lounge was fantastic the host did the hotel proud . We stayed on the 4th & 5th of April. I think it's time your swimming pool and changing areas were refurbished as they are a bit dated for a 4 star hotel .

Only downside were bar prices - almost mortgage level for a round . Otherwise would recommend

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by JoanneL Not as good as usual
We love the Crowne Plaza Glasgow, and this was the forth (I think) time we have stayed. It's therefore perhaps unfair to be too critical, as we always have a lovely time. However, we didn't enjoy this stay as much as the others.
On arrival we were told we had been 'upgraded' to a suite instead of our usual room with two double beds, to accommodate our party of three. The suite had a bedroom and a living room with a sofa bed. I can report that having been relegated to many a sofa bed on our trips, the Crowne Plaza Glasgow has the most uncomfortable sofa bed in Europe! What a horrible contraption! I got very little sleep and arose bruised and battered.
The bed in the main room, weirdly, had the duvet attached to the bottom of the bed, which caused discomfort for those sleeping in the 'proper' bed too. All in all, we didn't have a good night.
Every trip, I also whinge about the fact that, although we travel as a family of three, there are only ever two cups in our room. It's a little detail that could really make a difference, and for a quality hotel chain, it's those little differences that count.
We will probably return to this hotel, but next time we are offered an 'upgrade' I will politely decline.

Room 1622 was very comfortable and being a club room gave me complimentary access to the club lounge. I think this service provided by some Hotel chains is a great conception.
The views from this room was also worth paying for . You can see for miles across the Clyde and city.
We had tickets for the Alfie Boe tour playing at the SSEC.
It was a fab show and as the venue connects to the Hotel this is an added bonus in winter.
Ate in the bar which was very good. The club sandwich was tasty.
I was a frequent visitor to this Hotel when it opened 20 something years ago and it was ahead of its time in design. Some might say its a little tired but I quite like a hotel that's older, I like a used look as long as its kept clean as this Hotel is.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by fraser52 great place to stay for a city break in Glasgow
We regularly stay at the Crowne Plaza because of the easy access by car, friendly and helpful staff, excellent river views and comfortable rooms. The hotel is very convenient for the science museum (across the bridge), the transport museum and the other west end attractions like the Kelvingrove museum and The Huntarian. The city centre is a short taxi ride away and it is much easier than driving in and trying to park. The SECC is next door and the hotel has a direct link to the centre for events and concerts. We recommend the Crowne Plaza, it may not be the most expensive or poshest hotel in Glasgow but it represents great value for a quality hotel in a prime location.

Not only was the service and comfort excellent but the hotel has a great situation with great views of the Clyde, the Armadillo and the south of Glasgow. Also with its covered connections to the Secc and the Armadillo it makes attending a concert or event most civilised.

I stayed here prior to an early start for the airport. hotel was teaming with people when I arrived , must have been having a function of some sort going on. Room was very good with all the modern touches you expect.I had a good nights sleep and an easy checkout at 5am to be at the airport in plenty of time for my flight.
Will use again when next in town

The room was good, clean, comfortable
The food was good - but not the ususal WOW factor.
On check in, no-one asked if we wanted to swipe credit card so that we could charge bar bills etc to room so very embarrasing when charge to room was declined.
But.....the choice of bufffet at breakfast time was not good compared with previous visits. The coffee was luke warm and the staff were not interested. Coffee pots were dirty.
The coffee served from the bar on one of our visits was late in coming because the barman forgot and when it did come it was cold.
I know there is a charge for parking but when you add add up what is spent in hotel for stay, it is a bit unnecessary.
I don't mind paying your prices for drinks or food, however when there is no service, returning for another visit is not appealing. I could understand a poor service if the hotel was busy. It was in fact very quiet. We have enjoyed our visits since 2007 with almost yearly visits.

We stayed here because we were exhibiting at a conference it was very convenient for the SECC which was attached via a long corridor walkway. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble, they really went the extra mile. My daughter is Coeliac and they made a huge effort to cater for her special dietary needs. We decided to extend our stay for a party and reception made sure we got the best deal (£30 less than we could get online). We decided to go into the town centre on the last day by train because it was snowing so we didn't fancy the walk. The train station was linked via a walkway and the journey cost £1.50 return, took two stops and within ten minutes we were in the heart of the city. It was fabulous, and I would definitely go again.
