Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by OJRuns Very affordable and accomodating
My wife needed a handicapped shower for a surgical recovery situation. They were able to move us from the normal room to a handicapped room without any issue. The place is big, the pool is nice, the bar is adequate, the parking is simple and free, and the access to downtown Grand Rapids and the airport are a no brainer. And the price was a steal! I would absolutely stay there again, no questions asked. Dont waste your money downtown. Stay here and get in and out of the city easy.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel looked to be in great shape and recently renovated except for the elevators which need some work done. Sleeping rooms were accessorized nicely and quiet. Could use another outlet or two next to the beds.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by JenniferB Bad experience
I arrive with guests and had problems checking in. The staff was very impatient while I dealt with my credit card issues. The room was small and one of my lady friend guests was not happy. This hotel experience was not what I expected.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by jtjk Great room and comfortable bed, safe location
We stayed here because my husband's company held a party in one of their banquet halls. Very nice rooms and bed was very comfortable. Hotel is located in a very nice neighborhood and is near shopping malls, restaruants and entertainment.
The only bad fall is the hotel does not have complimentary breakfast. Other than that is was a great stay.

I am a platnium member, so stay at Holiday Inns regularly. I used some of my points for this stay and had four rooms for my family and my brothers family. Had a great weekend. Enjoyed the pool, sauna, and hot tub. Staff was helpful.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by IrisTina Thanksgiving Eve
As a Platinum member, I received an upgrade to the Club Floor; however, the lounge was not open Wednesday night before Thanksgiving. I have received an executive room upgrade every time I stay at this hotel, although the lounge is usually never open (or, my flight out is too early). This time, when I expressed my disappointment because the lobby lounge was not open either, another employee behind the front desk said I could have something to eat from the retail shop, so I chose a wrap with chips.
This hotel is at my home airport, and sometimes I stay here when I have an early business flight, and sometimes before or after a leisure flight as well. The shuttle service has been great 99.9% of the time (once last year over the holidays we waited a long time at the airport because the shuttle was at the mall).
For this stay, I requested a room with two Queen beds because we don't like the King bed rooms with only one chair when there are two of us. The bed seemed a lot harder than I remember from previous stays, and we did not sleep well. This hotel is an older property, and the guestroom bathrooms are very small. The decor in the guestrooms has been updated, and the chair is comfortable, if only one is needed. This is one of my favorite GRR airport hotels; however, the rate is often much higher than nearby properties, so I often stay elsewhere instead.

In the early 1980's I stayed at this hotel for over 3 weeks along with my staff of 10. We set up new service for Northwest Airlines out of the airport for the first time. Coming back to the same hotel after all these years brought back many very good memories even though the hotel has gone through mny upgrades.
Would recommend to anyone.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Nikki2010 Any other room
I had a King size suite and the only thing that was different was the bed size. Everything else in the room was the same as a normal room, nothing special. I have been to other hotels to where the "King Suite" was luxurious with a full jacuzzi bathtub/shower, refrigerator, microwave, and a much larger counter space in the bathroom area. There was also no view to my hotel room, just the roof. Another thing is preferred members are usually on the first or second floor, not all the way at the top. It makes it much more convenient and accessable for members, especially business parties to flow in and out of the hotel/meeting areas.
Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to any Priorities Club Member or guest of any sort. You were the highest in points to stay at, so I thought it would be nicer. Next time I know to take my business elsewhere and stay at a hotel that offers more for less points.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by speciateacher disappointed
I have stayed in this establishment several times and this was the worst experience there. I paid $30 more a night then 3 weeks earlier, requested certain things, as instructed by desk staff at the previous visit, only to be denied my requests, even when booking thru the hotel site.
Needless to say, I come to this hotel for the quiet and restfulness that I usually get, only this time I did not get it, AND it cost me more money!!!!!!!! Very disappointing.
