The week we stayed there was basketball tournament being hosted in the area and the hotel was full of young basketball players. Not a problem at all, except that our room was next to the stairwell on the 6th floor and there were kids running up and down the stairwell all night long. It was very loud. The room had dust caked on and in the inside of the air vent in the bathroom and bedroom. Breakfast, don't bother! We went down on our first morning at the hotel for breakfast at 8:30. I was traveling with my toddler and my husband, and I thought that this would be a good option for a quick breakfast. There was literally NO FOOD. We waited for 20 minutes after being seated and all that was restocked on the breakfast buffet was fruit. There were no pancakes, no eggs, no bacon and no oatmeal. All of the food was empty! I asked our waitress if they were making more food, because my son needed to eat and she said she would let the kitchen know. 10 minutes later, she came back and said that the kitchen was working on the food. We waited another 15 minutes and we got up and left. The service I received at the restaurant was extremely poor. I had asked to speak to a manager, and no one came. There were no kids cups and no straws in the restaurant. The ice machines didn't work or they were empty on every floor which is a big deal since there aren't any fridges in the rooms. There is a tub basin but no facuet and no drain plug either. I had to stuff the drain full of wash cloths to give my toddler a bath. Staying here was more of a headache than it was worth!

My reservation was secured by a member of my family 1 month in advance. My previous stay in Hampton was 2 years prior. my choice was based on my previous stay at Crowne Plaza, Hampton.
Upon arrival I was assured that all billing would be to my AMEX card presented at check-in. I was placed on a so called "quiet floor," it was anything but quiet. On day two my room was neglected by housekeeping totally and after a long day of excursions, it took two visits to the front desk, with a phone call in between the visits.to secure fresh linens and towels and toiletries which were handed to me at the desk to carry up and replace them myself.
Now I find out that the majority of my billing was applied to a card of my family member who made the reservation. This was totally a very poor experience.

AWESOME! 5 STAR STAY AT HAMPTON-MARINA LOCATION IN HAMPTON VA. CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT. ROOM WAS VERY CLEAN. FOOD DELICIOUS. CONCIERGE SERVICES VERY POLITE. OVERLOOKS MY ALMA MATER, HAMPTON UNIVERSITY!

Thank you for you help with the emergency accommodations for my 10 room group. They were extremely happy to have things to do within walking distance of the hotel. They were a little taken aback by there not being a refrigerator or microwave in the room but we made do. We are looking to staying there again for next years trip to the area.
