Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 2014 Hampton Jazz Festival stay Other than no clock and only one trash can, the room was very nice. There was a beautiful water view and very comfortable and clean beds. I had an issue with the breakfast agreement, but other than that, I recommend the property. July 6, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Despite the decent facade, the facility needs a major upgrade The staff tried hard and couldn't have been nicer, but the problems with the hotel are many from musty rooms to leaky windows to broken ice machines and wifi to broken toilets and dark bathrooms. However, the management was not at all sympathetic and unwilling to give any concessions on price for any of the problems. July 6, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice area with lots to walk to Nice area with great harbor views available. The area is nice for walking to dinner and drinks if you chose to leave the hotel. The restaurant at the hotel is very good and the breakfast area is a great place to view the harbor. On the down side the room we had needs and update badly. One of the beds was broken and the bathroom was in need of a lot of updating. Electrical outlet for curling iron had to be used in the bedroom area. Small stuff but when you pay for a Crown Plaza room you expect better quality. All in all a good stay and will use them again when in the area. July 5, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very Clean Our room was very clean. The only real drawback was there are no refridgerators or microwaves in the rooms. And with no refridgerator, we needed ice and the ice machines were usually out of ice. I called the front desk and they said they would be right up with ice, and they never showed. Also, the restaurant at the hotel had horrible service. I think they were not staffed to handle the crowd they had. I was there for 3 days and none of the waitstaff ever smiled, and I ate 3 breakfasts and 1 lunch there. Overall, the hotel was very clean and the room had a beautiful view. The room was comfortable, if it just had a refridgerator and some ice it would have been perfect. June 27, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by My Experience First, my room had a lovely view of the water, boats, and beautiful skyline. The atmosphere of the hotel was cordial. When I checked in at the front desk, I was immediately asked how I would pay, instead of the desk clerk checking to see I have already paid in advance. Once inside our room, the television had snow and was unable to see the picture. We called front desk and within minutes, a maintenance person was there and switched out the television. A picture, that was suppose to hang on the wall, was sitting beside the desk on the floor. The air conditioner unit was extremely loud, especially in the bathroom area, but once set, instantly cooled the living quarters. June 26, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Need to be updated Our experience was so so. The first room wasn't cleaned had soda on table beside bed. The curtains were torn and carpet need to be cleaned. There were no microwave or refrigerator in rooms and lobby appearance was outstanding until you get to the room. The second room was a little better but need some TLC. The hotel would be very nice if someone would spend some money and update the room and hallways. Nice location and view. The atmosphere with the waitress in the restaurant was not good at all, they were unfriendly and seem to have a attitude problem. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Customer Service My stay at this truly fabulous hotel right on the marina was wonderful. Such a fantastic view from our room. However. The staff was a little less than stellar. Everyone was polite and friendly however they just were not super. They seemed to be way overworked. Front desk people were great though. Very accommodating. And helpful with all requests. Some of my group had little incidents like forgotten towels. The service in the restaurant area was so slow. Some people did not received their food for an hour after ordering. We had several banquets while there and on none of these were the dirty plates removed after the lunch or dinner when we had a program or evening of entertainment after the meal. I would definitely recommend more staff and some training like SW Airlines training. Why was the bathroom at the pool locked? Was it Broken? Needed fixing! Why were there No refrigerators in the rooms? Things could definitely get better there. And definitely should at such a terrific place. June 25, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Plenty of Pillows and an Excellent Breakfast Had plenty of pillows on the bed - very inviting and I did not have to call room service and ask for more (I use 4 pillows when I sleep! I liked the layout of the room - the bathroom was separated from the sleeping quarters. The view from our window was beautiful - we overlooked the marina. The breakfast was outstanding and the staff was great - my husband said that was the best omelet he had ever eaten. June 25, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Location The Crowne Plaza Hampton-Marina is located in a great area. We were within walking distance to several area's and shops. We were able to enjoy an art festival and block party by walking just a couple of blocks to the downtown area. There were several things around town to entertain my 7 and 8 year old. The carousel next door was a true plus. A pool on the 2 floor helped my kids relax towards the end of the day. The hotel itself was clean, nice and quiet. They were a little stingy on towels and did not keep a well stocked amount of towels around the pool area. The staff did see a little put off when I asked for extra towels but did provide them. Otherwise, we had a great experience and were able to visit with friends and see several sites without having to get into a car. June 24, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by No more !! I arrived at this location on Monday June 16th. I tried to check in at 4:40 pm but my room (623) wasn't ready. I waited 45 minutes before the room is cleaned and ready for me. I saw right off the bat that this hotel needed a MAJOR upgrade. The location was great but it needs major renovations. The room did not have a frig or a safe but I guess I could deal with that for a few days. The shower head was coming out of the wall and the toilet seat was so loose I was afraid it was going to fall off. That night the AC unit was so loud I had to turn it off to get some sleep. The next day I left the hotel at 7:30 am, returned at 4 pm. I walked in the room an saw my room wasn't clean yet. I then went for a swim came back an hour later and my room was still not clean. I called the front desk around 5 pm to get some clean towels sent up. I had to call them 2 times before someone brought towels to my room. I left the hotel at 6pm, went to the front desk and ask them if they would clean my room and give me some fresh towels. So the next day we said the heck with this, we checked out , leaving a day early. I was not expecting this from Crowne Plaza..... really disappointed. The best thing about this hotel was the attractive young lady that checked me in. June 23, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Unsatisfied guest I was very disappointed with the accommodations I received. I reserved one king size and one double adjoining room for my family during the week of 6/1/14-6/6/14. When I arrived at the hotel at 11:55 on 6/1, I was greeted by a not to polite desk clerk who said she did see the reservation and there was nothing she could do about it. My family and I ended up with rooms at the opposite end of a hallway. The next day we spoke to the manager but nothing was said or done to correct the oversight. The quality of room for cleanliness was good however, the air conditioning unit was so loud that it felt as if a motor from a truck was roaring all night. I had to turn the unit off to sleep, therefore the room was uncomfortably warm. If this was not bad enough, there was a vacuum blower of some sort directly in front of the room next to my room that was there throughout my stay, making a bowing noise day and night. the morning we checked out was the morning it was removed. Overall I was quite unhappy with my stay. June 16, 2014

We stayed here roughly 2 years ago, and thought by now there would be some improvement. Alas, it was not to be. Instead it only continued a downward decline. Sad, because this has so much potential! I didnt agree with check in time.When I made reservations i was told three o clock check in but the day of check in i was told we couldnt check in until four. FOUR O CLOCK IS A LATE CHECK IN TIME..ESPECIALLY WHEN THE ROOMS FEEL LIKE THEY COULD BE A BIT MORE CLEAN. THEY DEFINITELY NEED A NEW ICE MACHINE ALSO. June 11, 2014

After I reminded them I had reserved the room online, they found a King leisure. Did not get a good nights sleep because the AC unit hummed like a bad refrigerator all night. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Filthy - Terrible Experience! This hotel should be ashamed to book and charge people for such filthy room conditions. I had to change rooms and both rooms had filthy carpets; dirty walls; dated and water damaged furniture; dirty air vents which blew out black particles that I inhaled unknowingly while sleeping, only to wake up stuffy and notice black dust and particles on my bed. My sink was broken/wouldn't drain; the toilet was dirty; my door jammed, locking me in my room; the plates in the restaurant during breakfast were dirty and the curtains were ripped. This experience was terrible. I have stayed at this location in the past only for it's convenience to my conference location and the scenery of being on the Marina. Each year, I have hoped that conditions would get better, but they have gotten worse. This hotel is in need of major renovations and until it is done, I would not recommend it to anyone. I heard other guests also complaining on the elevator, at the front desk, etc. It was not a good experience. June 9, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient Location Hotel was convenient to the venue and easy to get to. Conveniently located away from major traffic. This is my 2nd stay. I remember it better than this though. The duvet was dirty and the shower had blonde hair on the handle, toilet had blonde hair on it. Good indication that the room may not have been cleaned prior to arrival. Had to set the thermostat on 56 in order for the room to cool. Then it became too cool and had to turn it completely off. Regardless, I would still stay again because of the location and I would inspect the room before unloading. The staff made the experience worth it to stay. They were extremely friendly. The housekeeping staff were friendly and ready to step in and make my stay more pleasurable. The housekeeping staff was probably the MOST friendly of everyone. The manager was very accommodating.
