After visiting the website and reviewing the amenities I called Crowne Plaza and was told this particular location had tennis courts and that a continental breakfast was included. Neither was the case. I requested a refrigerator which arrived promptly but was dirty and overall the hotel was poorly maintained and the shower did not appear clean.

I stay at this hotel frequently while on business in Harrisburg. The hotel location and rooms are exactly what I need. The staff is courteous and always helpful. Would never think of staying anywhere else!

I have never experienced a more accomodating and caring staff in all my traveling experience. They were a step ahead in all my needs. The beds were comfy and altough the property was an older property they made up for it in cleanliness.

I stayed here last week because the usual place I stayed was booked. This hotel needs a renovation and the staff needs some training.
At check in I requested a quiet room. The person signing me in said no problem. I got to my room that was on 3rd floor facing one of the busiest streets. I think every time a truck rode by I thought they were coming into the room.
When I got to the room the heat was broken. I called down thinking they would move me but nope they said someone will be up to fix it. I left for dinner and when I got back the fix was that the heat did not shut off. I left it on since it was a cold night and by morning my room was 90 degrees.
The room was also dirty. The toilet was not much cleaner then a public restroom.

As a long term and frequent traveler for business and pleasure I must say this is the best all around experience I have ever had with hotel staff. Every employee we were in contact with was friendly, knowledgable and helpful. They could give "how to" lessons to every hotel. Please reward them if you can with bonuses.

They've apparently done away with breakfast room service because there were no menu order forms in the room.
Parking is valet only, so you cannot come and go to get stuff out of your car. I found this a tremendous inconvience as a business traveler who practically lives in her car but doesn't want to carry it ALL up to her room. (Plus I know from pre-valet-only service how TIGHT the parking is in this garage and I don't want anyone driving my vehicle in it but me.)
The only cups for drinking were glass or ceremic mugs, which I didn't discover until I had brewed the pot of coffee and wanted to pour it in a paper travel cup as I headed out the door. I had to leave the full pot behind because there was no way to take it with me. (See note about room-service breakfast above)
Apparently not all the rooms get newspapers, because everyone else on my floor did but me. (I left really early.)
At checkout, staffer asked me "How was your Thanksgiving?" It was a week AFTER Thanksgiving, when T-giving is but a distant memory in the fog of well-underway holiday shopping. I was waiting for "How was your stay" so I could tell her what I really thought.

The hotel is starting to show age. The room I was in was clean but looked and felt old. The tub was peeling( it had obviously been coated recently). The bathroom was tiny and hard to even move around. Couldn't get the heat to work. It was 2 AM before I realized that the temp wasn't changing so I just stayed in the room. 18 dollar valet. Had to wait for someone to take the car when I arrived. (Valet only). I am partially hadicapped and there wasn't anyone to assist me. Valet watched me struggle with the bags.

We spent 5 days at the Crowne Plaza and were extremely pleased with our stay.. The room was small for a king room but the hotel is a historic building so that is not surprising. The staff was very busy those days we were there, possibly because of the Harrisburg marathion, but our room was always keep spotless, the valet service had our car at the door when we wanted it and the staff was always eager to help and make our stay enjoyable. I had trouble printing my boarding passes and 2 gentlemen were right there to take care of it. The food in the dining room was excellent, and the waitstaff is to be highly commended. We met with family there and were givien a quiet table and our drinks were kept filled. Never once were we made to feel rushed. We were brought snacks of our choice each evening. The only complaint I would have is napping in the afternoon is impossible!! The housekeepers constantly bang doors as they go in and out of the rooms they are working in.

I stayed for 2 nights during the Harrisburg Marathon and everything was superb i could not fault anything.
The staff and service were exceptional.

The service in the hotel was incredible. Everybody was fabulous. However, I stayed for two nights and the temperature in my room never raised above 62 degrees. The thermometer was set to 83 degrees.
In addition, the temperature of the water was freezing and would not raise.

Room was not completely ready when I checked in, however I was assigned that room anyhow. First time, housekeeping manager came in with her key after I didn't answer the door, ( I was on a phone conference) She stated I needed soap and more drinking glasses , which I hadn't even notice. Second time , about an hour later, someone brought up the glasses and soap. Front desk called another hour later to see how my room was. Later that evening (I was in bed sleeping), another knock on the door to bring me a complimentary bottle of water and some chips.
Heat was not working, only cool air blowing. Noise level high in hallway.
Stayed on the fourth floor. No view.
Ask for directions at front desk for my business meeting. She gave me a copy of mapquest.

This is the 7th. year we have stayed at the Crowne Plaza in Harrisburg. Originally chosen for the inside parking for my collector cars, this hotel lives up to the reputation that Crowne Plaza Hotels are premier hotels. The food at the Restaurant is very good, hotel staff helpful, and the Valet staff watches out for my cars with good parking locations.
It's why I keep coming back.

The room was extremely small for a king size room, and the bathroom wasn't big enough to turn around in. Everything else, cleanliness, towels, etc. was fine.

Apparently there was a faulty boiler which caused not one but 2 fire drills at midnight and 1am. The staff gave us no indication that there was a problem we had to find out in the morning the reason. There was no compensation - only complimentary coffee and doughnuts between a certain time frame. WHich most prob didnt make because they wanted to get some sleep. Our next trip we will be staying elsewhere.
