Good hotel. I have stayed here a lot.
Close to the centre and tube but located in a quiet position in London.
Easy to get to on foot ore tube.10 minute, pleasant walk to Oxford Street, Oxford Circus[More]
Clean and quiet rooms, excellent! [Less]
We would recomend more thought to the facilities in the bathroom.
a) The shower and face bowl facusets were hard to manipulate (hard to grip and hold the handles)
b) The shower head was too low.
No handles for support to get in and out of the tub
d) the bathtub was too high to comfortable climbing in and out of
e) The half glass panel on the tub poses a problem if you slip and fall against it especially with nothing to hold on to [Less]
This hotel is fine - to progress to being more than fine it needs serious money spending on it as frankly it's beginning to show its age. However I'm being a tad harsh - it is clean,[More]
reasonably freshly painted and the front desk staff cheerful, sympathetic and helpful.
My relatively low value rating is because there is little competition in the area, much demand and prices are generally high. My company gets better corporate rates in London than Reading...
So the three B's
Bed - comfortable, fresh linen that is clearly relatively new. Good nights sleep
Bath - I had a ground floor room and although my morning shower was fine it is in this area that the hotel is showing its age with really quite dated fittings and very little space to move around in. Towels though were good with some depth - an area I often see hotels cutting corners
Breakfast - again the full English on offer was fine, I ordered porridge and it arrived quickly and with a smile
Overall: yes I will return to this hotel [Less]
