PRO's: The hotel and rooms were very nice, bathrooms, etc. updated and well done, as was the main lobby. Infinity Pool was great too, beautiful and nice ambiance overlooking a body of water, channel of some sort?. Front desk staff was very nice, restaurant servers also super friendly and helpful.
CON's: The down-side was the ridiculously priced drinks and food at the poolside bar and restaurant. 1 round of drinks for 2 people, with tip (automatically included at 19%# just about $30 ! Not top shelf booze either, just a plain old rum-runner and a beer. Poolside lunch for 1 adult and 2 kids #kids menu# was $75! #included 2 alcohol beverages).
Fitness center did not have ellipticals, which most people look for when doing indoor cardiovascular. Treadmills were good, and a few recumbent bikes. Free weights, a few machines, etc. Nice overall, just need to swap out some treadmills for ellipticals.
Parking - $17/self park $20 valet for overnight seems a bit much.
Overall - Very nice hotel, just food/drink way too expensive.

The Hotel is clean, the room was great and the view was relaxing. There is construction going on arround but did not interfered with my experience. For my first time in Florida it was definitely a great welcome. Would like to encourage the team to greet everyone every single time as there were times that I felt as I was not being noticed and was the only one walking arround the lobby and/or front entrance.
Valet attendant on last night....Dracula was funny, entertaining and humble.

The bed was just way to soft...So soft i had to push off the floor to get out the bed. Yes, it was so soft you almost hit the floor when you laid on it.

This hotel is in need of attention. The carpet in the rooms and hallways need cleaning. The refrigerator front was very dirty in Room 1016. Room 1009 patio door handle is broken. Also, we reserved 2 rooms so we were put in a suite and charged for two individual rooms....however, the living room didn't have a bed or a bathroom. The 3rd person in our party was expected to come into our room to share the bathroom...all at the very special price of a second room. And, he was to sleep on a roll away. Our room was changed. We were changed to 2 regular rooms. Additionally, the rooms have two double beds...not queens. Poorly maintained property. However, good location.

Love the staff. Carlos greets me with a smile in the driveway, and Jeff, Jeff and Leidy always make me me feel welcome inside the lobby. The gym could do with some updating. Other than that, a great hotel all round - nice pool, good service, large rooms.

We stayed 3 nights before a cruise and 2 nights after the cruise. We actually preferred the hotel over the cruise! It's a great location. We were able to take the trolley for $1 each way down to the boardwalk and were able to see a lot of Hollywood riding it. It was my mom, myself, 1 year old baby and 4 year old otherwise I am sure I could have walked to the boardwalk from the hotel. The beach across the street was very nice and you could pick up the water taxi right at the pool to take you along the canals and to stops at restaurants and on to Fort Lauderdale. We walked to Walmart over the bridge and it was only about a fifteen minute walk. 711 was right next door so we were able to get milk for our cereal in the morning. I loved that the room had a fridge and microwave. We were able to also pick up food from the Walmart grocery and eat quite a few meals in our room. The only thing we noticed was that there weren't that many options for inexpensive restaurants nearby. We loved the pool. The one day I am sure my 4 year old spent at least 5 hours in it. It was wonderful that it was heated and so big! We also liked having a hot tub as well. I would definitely stay here again.

When we checked in, we were informed that our reservation had been canceled even though I had called and given a credit card number to secure the reservation. We had 3 adults and were informed only rooms with 1 bed were available. We were still charged full price and even charged for the ridiculously uncomfortable pull-out bed. Later that night, we overheard the front desk ask people checking in with only 2 adults if they preferred one bed or two, which made me very angry because we were told there were no two bed rooms available, even though that is what I specifically requested when I booked the room.

Easy access to public transportation. Great pool-side facilities.
Friendly chambermaids; remember to tip them. A short walk accross the street will get you to the beach. Had a restful time
and would recommend this hotel.

Checked into this hotel after having an uncomfortable experience at another hotel while on vacation in Florida. I have been to this hotel before and have never been disappointed. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very nice and clean. The pool area is very beautiful and relaxing. The waitstaff in the restaurant are wonderful and friendly. The beach is within close walking distance - right across the street. The trolley picks up right in front of the hotel and takes you to the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk in minutes.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Average quality for a Crowne plaza. Coffee shop did not open on time and got double charged for a coffee. Overall not a good experience.

I have high expectations for Crowne Plazas and they usually deliver. We had two adjoining rooms for a quick overnight stay in advance of a cruise departure. This property was generally good with a large caveat - it was dirty. While first impressions of the rooms were great - great decor and ambiance - one glance at the multitude of stains on the cream coloured chaise lounge caused us to change our minds. I checked the same lounge in the second room and it was just as bad. Revoltingly bad. Bad enough such that no one was willing to sit on them. This seemed to be a theme - some furniture in the elevator alcoves and even in the lobby were stained. Something so basic should not be missed. Please get a steam cleaner and get it sorted out.

i always enjoy this hotel great pool over looking the inter coastal .I enjoy lunch by the pool and the Tiki bar . The rooms always clean and amenities are good . We had a meeting here and they did a very nice job accommodating our group .I can highly recommend this hotel

Very nice hotel, clean rooms, excellent service. We really liked that we could take the water taxi out the back door or the trolley out the front door to explore all over Hollywood and Ft Lauderdale. We also took several of the tours offered by the concierge including the Miami bus and boat tour, and the Everglades Holiday Park tour. All were very good tours and reasonably priced. We flew into Ft Lauderdale, stayed for a week with no need for a rental car, and enjoyed the excellent pool and clean beach 5 minutes walk away. This is a good hotel and saves you some money compared to the beachfront hotels while still providing a first class experience.

We had the best experience. Friendly staff. Beautiful and clean room. We brought our own wine glasses to enjoy our wine. When we returned to our room in the evening, room service did such a thorough job of cleaning they took our glasses. Not a problem. The only concern was that we had free parking which meant we had to park the car in the lot on the side of the hotel ourselves. After parking, we had to walk up the drive area to the front door with our suitcases. There is no sidewalk or walkway. Be careful or do the valet parking.

Hotel is Beautiful!! Perfect Location!!!! Top notch employees!!!!From the time we checked in from the Valet, Front Desk, Bartender and even seeing cleaning ladies. Every single worker we encountered were the friendliest I have seen in along time. We travel alot and have been to hundreds of Hotels and have to say we give this Hotel a 10. Ten being the highest. We are already planning another trip and will stay at this Hotel again.

We stayed at this hotel after a cruise from Fort Lauderdale. The hotel is located across the street from the beach behind some tall condo towers.
We were given a nice room on the 10th floor with a view of the ocean and waterway. The front desk agent apologized for not being able to give us a corner room as those were what is usually given to Platinums. We did not mind and thought the room was well maintained. The only issue that we had was the noise from the numerous fire engines and ambulances coming over the causeway throughout the night.
As a Platinum member, I was also given free parking, two free drinks at the bar, and two coffees at the Starbucks cart in the gift shop which was appreciated.
The beach was just across the street but you had to walk through a path that was covered in construction debris from the condo construction that is happening next to the path. Once we got to the beach, the beach was very nice.
If we were in the area again, we would most likely stay here again.

Specifically asked 3 times on 3 seperate days for 2 connecting rooms for our reservation. And yet when we arrived there were not two connecting rooms available. The problem was solved the next day, but it caused us to have to repack and move floors the second day.

Was under the impression that I was booking the "Cruise and Park" package on-line and opted to prepay to ensure the best rate and ease for senior parents. After calling to clarify the number of people on the reservation for a two day stay, the reservation got totally messed up. Even after repeated phone calls directly to the Hollywood, Fla location, and assurances by the reservations manager that the reservation had been corrected, my parents arrived on the first day to find that the problem hadn't been rectified as promised. While staff did accommodate them, I was extremely disappointed that the seniors had to deal with it. Further, they were charged extra for parking and staff claimed that the prepaid booking wasn't for the "Cruise and Park" package. I am sure I paid a higher rate for that package. Lesson learned - never prepay for the hotel!!!!!

Stayed at the Hollywood Beach Resort on March 22nd, 23rd and 24th 2013. The staff was very friendly, helpful and courtious. They provided prompt professional service. The atmospher was very relaxing and the rooms were quiet. The location is very good and having the trolly service pick up at the hotel is a great service. The only critisim I would have is the pillows. The pillows were too bulky and I asked for a different kind of pillow but was told there were no options.
Over all it was a pleasant and relaxing experience.

older property, high rates and not really wroth the high prices. For the amount we paid we could have stayed at South Beach. When I called for room service the person answering the phone wanted to be anywhere but work! Put me on hold & another person took the order. Very tight loading entrance, but staff at desk & parking were very nice. Overall really not worth the money we paid.

We recently stayed at the Crowne Plaza for a week before our cruise. Our travel was arranged by Tee Times and they suggested the hotel and arranged the golf package as well. I must say the hotel pleasantly surprised me for its cleanliness, size of rooms, microwave, refrigerator, balcony, heated infinity pool, on the coatal waterway, right at the bridge and very relaxing. The staff was exceptionally friendly and courteous, with free wifi everywhere. We selected this package as it was close to the beach, close to golf, and 10 miles south, out of the traffic of Fort Lauderdale and 15 min. to Port Lauderdale for the cruise. The hotel is in Hallendale Beach and near WalMarts, Panera, a great ilalian restaurant Matteo (Expensive but worth it!). We discovered Billy's Stome Crabs, North on A1A and downtown restaurants. The only negative about the hotel was the restaurant. It had the same menu as the pool and breakfast was $16.00. To park the car was $17-19 dollars a day. Ask for a room at the back of the hotel for a view of the coastal waterway. We had a slight view of the bridge and the parking lot. We would recommend this hotel anytime!
