Rufus Good base to explore south Florida
Very nice hotel, clean rooms, excellent service. We really liked that we could take the water taxi out the back door or the trolley out the front door to explore all over Hollywood and Ft Lauderdale. We also took several of the tours offered by the concierge including the Miami bus and boat tour, and the Everglades Holiday Park tour. All were very good tours and reasonably priced. We flew into Ft Lauderdale, stayed for a week with no need for a rental car, and enjoyed the excellent pool and clean beach 5 minutes walk away. This is a good hotel and saves you some money compared to the beachfront hotels while still providing a first class experience.

We had the best experience. Friendly staff. Beautiful and clean room. We brought our own wine glasses to enjoy our wine. When we returned to our room in the evening, room service did such a thorough job of cleaning they took our glasses. Not a problem. The only concern was that we had free parking which meant we had to park the car in the lot on the side of the hotel ourselves. After parking, we had to walk up the drive area to the front door with our suitcases. There is no sidewalk or walkway. Be careful or do the valet parking.

Hotel is Beautiful!! Perfect Location!!!! Top notch employees!!!!From the time we checked in from the Valet, Front Desk, Bartender and even seeing cleaning ladies. Every single worker we encountered were the friendliest I have seen in along time. We travel alot and have been to hundreds of Hotels and have to say we give this Hotel a 10. Ten being the highest. We are already planning another trip and will stay at this Hotel again.

We stayed at this hotel after a cruise from Fort Lauderdale. The hotel is located across the street from the beach behind some tall condo towers.
We were given a nice room on the 10th floor with a view of the ocean and waterway. The front desk agent apologized for not being able to give us a corner room as those were what is usually given to Platinums. We did not mind and thought the room was well maintained. The only issue that we had was the noise from the numerous fire engines and ambulances coming over the causeway throughout the night.
As a Platinum member, I was also given free parking, two free drinks at the bar, and two coffees at the Starbucks cart in the gift shop which was appreciated.
The beach was just across the street but you had to walk through a path that was covered in construction debris from the condo construction that is happening next to the path. Once we got to the beach, the beach was very nice.
If we were in the area again, we would most likely stay here again.

Specifically asked 3 times on 3 seperate days for 2 connecting rooms for our reservation. And yet when we arrived there were not two connecting rooms available. The problem was solved the next day, but it caused us to have to repack and move floors the second day.

Was under the impression that I was booking the "Cruise and Park" package on-line and opted to prepay to ensure the best rate and ease for senior parents. After calling to clarify the number of people on the reservation for a two day stay, the reservation got totally messed up. Even after repeated phone calls directly to the Hollywood, Fla location, and assurances by the reservations manager that the reservation had been corrected, my parents arrived on the first day to find that the problem hadn't been rectified as promised. While staff did accommodate them, I was extremely disappointed that the seniors had to deal with it. Further, they were charged extra for parking and staff claimed that the prepaid booking wasn't for the "Cruise and Park" package. I am sure I paid a higher rate for that package. Lesson learned - never prepay for the hotel!!!!!

Stayed at the Hollywood Beach Resort on March 22nd, 23rd and 24th 2013. The staff was very friendly, helpful and courtious. They provided prompt professional service. The atmospher was very relaxing and the rooms were quiet. The location is very good and having the trolly service pick up at the hotel is a great service. The only critisim I would have is the pillows. The pillows were too bulky and I asked for a different kind of pillow but was told there were no options.
Over all it was a pleasant and relaxing experience.

older property, high rates and not really wroth the high prices. For the amount we paid we could have stayed at South Beach. When I called for room service the person answering the phone wanted to be anywhere but work! Put me on hold & another person took the order. Very tight loading entrance, but staff at desk & parking were very nice. Overall really not worth the money we paid.

We recently stayed at the Crowne Plaza for a week before our cruise. Our travel was arranged by Tee Times and they suggested the hotel and arranged the golf package as well. I must say the hotel pleasantly surprised me for its cleanliness, size of rooms, microwave, refrigerator, balcony, heated infinity pool, on the coatal waterway, right at the bridge and very relaxing. The staff was exceptionally friendly and courteous, with free wifi everywhere. We selected this package as it was close to the beach, close to golf, and 10 miles south, out of the traffic of Fort Lauderdale and 15 min. to Port Lauderdale for the cruise. The hotel is in Hallendale Beach and near WalMarts, Panera, a great ilalian restaurant Matteo (Expensive but worth it!). We discovered Billy's Stome Crabs, North on A1A and downtown restaurants. The only negative about the hotel was the restaurant. It had the same menu as the pool and breakfast was $16.00. To park the car was $17-19 dollars a day. Ask for a room at the back of the hotel for a view of the coastal waterway. We had a slight view of the bridge and the parking lot. We would recommend this hotel anytime!

My husband and I booked a ten night stay on the quiet floor at this hotel. The quiet floor was extremely important to us as I was having surgery. The night before we checked in I phoned to confirm that we were on the quiet floor. I was told that yes indeed we were. When we checked in we once again made sure to mention the quiet floor and once again were told that we were indeed placed there. The first three nights were sleepless because of partying that went on. We complained. During the fourth day we had had enough and contacted the front desk to speak with a hotel manager. Was only able to leave a voice mail. We only heard back from someone three days after all of this. We explained the situation and were told that we were not on the quiet floor and that she would get back to us. Still have not heard a thing. I need to also mention that they forgot to do our room three days. This is unacceptable. Very poor management and will never stay here again.

My husband and I booked a ten night stay here. They advertise a quiet floor. I was having surgery and thought this would be a bonus. Phoned and confirmed it was the quiet floor the night before arriving even though we had requested this at booking time. Booking in we once again confirmed we were on the quiet floor and once again we were assured that we were. The first three nights were awful with all of the noise and partying. Left a voice mail for the hotel manager. She returned our call three days later. Explained our predicament and she told us that we were not on the quiet floor that it was one floor up. We also explained in the time that we were there housekeeping missed our room three times. She said she would get back to us. Still waiting she never called back. We have travelled extensively and can honestly tell you not to waste your money here. They tell you what you want to here and do not deliver. We will not return.

We enjoyed our stay. However the quality of the room service was ordinary. Upon checking in found stains on pillow case which had to be changed. And cleaning of room on a daily basis was ordinary at best. Great care was not taken in cleaninjg room each day. Scraps of paper left on floor which indicated a lack of scrutiny when preparing room.

I would highly recommend this hotel! The service was exceptional. Everyone went out of their way to make our stay special. Our room was very attractive and very comfortable. The infinity pool was very pretty. We enjoyed watching gorgeous yachts drive by as we had lunch and drinks by the pool.

I love staying at the Crowne Plaza...but this trip was the worse. I was there for 4 nights and had 4 different reservations because they were sold out. I'm still confused by that. I was told I wouldn't have to switch rooms. Luckily that was true. HOWEVER, I had to check out and check back into my room EVERY morning. It baffles me that a manager couldn't override this or that the hotel system was that outdated. Needless to say, I started each morning unhappy that I had to stand in line, check out and check back in (with full paperwork each time). It was only 15-20 minutes each time, but I still should not have had to do that!!!
And the air condition wasn't working properly. Thank goodness it was breezy!

It is a beautiful hotel. The grounds were very neat and clean. Our room was excellent! My only concern were the sheets. I am not sure if they are starched but they were noisy when moving in bed-we have never experienced that. That being said, the sheets were soft and bed was very comfortable. The desk staff were very pleasant and accomodating.

Just returned from vacation in Hollywood Beach! The Crowne Plaza was great and we will definitely stay there again! The staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed 2 nights. Located on A1A across from Hallendale Beach. It was a short walk to Hollywood Beach's famous Broadwalk and beach. Our room was on the 8th floor, well appointed, and very comfortable, quiet, and clean. We had views from our balcony overlooking both the intercoastal and the ocean. Gorgeous infinity pool on the intercoastal and hot tub. I took advantage of the lap lane lines for swimming laps in the morning. We did not eat at the hotel's restaurant as we like to pack a picnic lunch for the beach and explore the local restaurants in the area at night but plenty of other people were taking advantage and seemed to be enjoying there stay as well.

i went on a 8 day vacation, i stayed in 2 different hotels before i found this hotel, if i would have seen this hotel, i probably would have stayed the whole stay at the crowne plaza hollywood beach

Really nothing positiove to say-was really disappointed overall.
Here are the bullet points:
-front desk did not recognize me as a platinum member
-front desk said access to beach taking the trolley to the boardwalk area *(found out that not be be true on check out)
-pool area bart-only one person workiong it-service way to slow
-restauramt-ordered a sandwhich to go and told the hostess i will be right outside waiting-i waited a half hour before I went back in and the hostess said she forgot about me-we will make it now-i walked out
-rug in room worn out
-cigarette smoke and even pot smoke smelled fromt he balocny-called front desk several times-they said security would come up to smell the hallways-i said it is coming from one of the balconies-you have to go out to the lot to see the glow of the source-no response-unpleasant experience both nights of my stay.
-on checkout i asked the valet where I can get a taxi-he said quote"the street"-i waited saw a cab pull into the lot and the valet said that was for someone else.

Maybe I have a wrong understanding on what means "Resort", but if you arrive at 01:00 AM, and you just CAN NOT eat anything... strange.. and also, my surprise, empty Mini Bar, not even water.
Room is nice, but dont think this is an resort... because is far away from this!.

Everything was great, the service and statff were excellent . The room was great and very clean. The valet parking staff were great and very helpful . My husband and I felt safe when coming back to hotel especially at nignt. Only one thing change the brand of the bed sheets. They feel like plastic , they are not comfortable , some strange material. Otherwise 5 stars and would of course come back again and would recommed to family and friends. The pool is great and clean, very nice. . Will be back soon. Thank you

The room was clean and well manicured. Didn't like the bed too much though, the sheets felt a little bit on the plastic side. View was poor due to construction of new condo on the beach, not the fault of the hotel though. Staff was VERY friendly and even let me check in early. Loved the pool next to the bay even at night. Jacuzzi was warm and worked wonders on my tired body at the end of the day. Overall good hotel.

We have been staying at the Crowne Plaza for some time ... this past January 2013 was our 6th stay at the hotel. This past time we noticed that the hotel rooms were getting tired, carpets somewhat dirty and stained, bathroom floor grout stained, and overall a dirty feel to the hotel rooms. The worst part is that the mattress and sheets weren't comfortable.
During the stay my daughter inadvertently made 2 long distance calls totaling 5 minutes from the hotel room phone. What disappointed me more than the $18 charge on my bill was the rude and arrogant response I received from the hotel "accountant" when I questioned the fee.
We stay at the Crowne Plaza because of the convenient location near other family members, but, otherwise we would never stay at this hotel again.

We stayed at the Crown Plaza Hollywood Beach for 3 nights between Dec 28th - Dec 31st. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are large enough to accommodate our family of 4 ( two teenagers). Loved the pool and tiki bar.
We would stay here again.
