Great staff but facilities need renovation

I used a rewards night/points to cover our stay, but would not have stayed there if we had to pay for it. The tiles had a slippery layer of residue and our 2 year old slipped and fell a few times until a cleaner came in. There was a cracked tile where tile-met-carpet and we had to put a suitcase over it so that no one got cut. There was no tub in the bathroom. The bed sagged quite a bit, but was still reasonably comfortable. The hallway carpets didn't seem to be cleaned too often (a discarded hair tie didn't move from the hallway floor for three days during our stay). The hotel is not on the beach, but rather across the road from the beach.
The staff were quite helpful, except once when they didn't bring us the requested fresh towels for 45 minutes (that left my wife waiting outside the room so housekeeping wouldn't knock/wake me or our 2 year-old up). :-( Overall, a bit disappointing, but it only cost us the US$20 for valet parking per night so...
