There are 5 out connected buildings to this hotel. My room in building 3 needed maintenence in three areas. The parking was the worst due to the hotel selling parking passes to people not staying in the hotel. I had a confrentation every time I entered the lot ! The shuttle was also a problem with getting picked back up, the staff was not informed of the area and made it difficulte to be picked up... I walked back to the hotel on my longest day of my stay... I cut my stay short ... NOT HAPPY AT ALL !

this place was awful. the rooms we're filthy, the sheets had dirt, hair and dead ants in them. when asked to be moved to another room or new sheets put on the bed, they delivered the sheets to us to do them ourselves. This hotel is not kept up at all. In the 3 complete buildings, (housing 100's of rooms per building) there was 1 working elevator, making guest walk all over to get to a 3rd story room. The hallways and carpets were filthy, even hair weave in the hallway, and was the next day, so no one even attempted to clean it. Will never stay here again, a complete waste of reward points.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Zman47 Served its purpose
Stayed for medical reasons. Room was about as far away from lobby as it could be. It was on second floor. Elevator only worked half the time. Room small and in old section. Maid service erratic at best. Never new when of if they would show up. Had them go right by door without stopping. Had to call a couple of times. Room service on the other hand was excellent. Food showed up quickly and was always hot. Shuttle was good most days but if you went too early it ran late. Couldn't depend on it if you had a firm appointment. Front desk staff excellent. Dining room great food but some of the wait staff severed you then forgot about you. Overall value okay since room was medical rate. Served its purpose but could have been better.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by TheOaks Don't stay here!
This ranks up there as one of the worst properties I have ever had the misfortune to have reservations. While the lobby area is nice, it goes downhill from there especially if you are not staying in the main building; however, I heard from friends that the rooms in the main building are in dire need as well. Maid service in the outside buildings were terrible & when they did come to service your room finally, it sounded like a 'riot' was going on outside. Two out of four nights I had to ask for maid service & then clean glasses after they left. We would have moved but with the rodeo in Houston, everything was full. I will never stay there again and am disappointed that Holiday Inn has that property at all much less as a Crowne Plaza! By the way, my husband has been a Priority Club member for 30+ years & we have stayed at Holiday Inns all over the U.S., this is truly a disappointment.

Our King suite was perfectly comfortable. The room was quiet. The air worked properly. The rock solid firm bed had a plush pillow top which yielded a terrific nights sleep. We will definitely recommend this Crowne Plaza to others and stay here again in the future.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Yancey733 Unacceptable stay
I have stayed at this hotel on several trips to Houston. I have had the best stay I have every had at a hotel at this location. About a year ago I was here for the livestock show and had a bad experience here but thought Ok if you stay somewhere enough times you could possible have a bad stay. Again I came back the next year and had the worst stay at a hotel ever, my room key did not work, the bed was terrible, and the toilet was lose and wobbally. They also charged me $30.00 a day for an additional car parked in the parking lot. I understand that parking is an issue during the livestock show and rodeo, (my stay was during the first week of the livestock show) but during my stay the hotel was not full nor was the parking lot. There were a lot of parking spaces available. I hate to say it, but this was the last time I will stay at this hotel.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Syls An awful experience....
We met there in two vehicles. Were not told ahead of time that there would be a $40 additional parking fee for the second vehicle...on top of what was already a much too expensive room.
We had reserved a room with a king size bed...when we got to the room it was a small room with two double beds. We called the front desk and were told that even though we had a confirmed reservation (that we had for over a month) that there were no king size beds available.
The room was old and the furniture was worn and looked pitiful. There was no refrigerator, no safe, and a toilet that ran constantly.
When we went down to the restaurant the next morning it took an hour from the time we placed our order until the time we got our food!
The only good thing about this stay is that it was only for one night. And we are Priority Club members!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by bkayeb NEVER STAYING AGAIN!!!!!!!!
This was one of the worst establishments I have ever been an occupant in!!! The lobby looks really nice, but building 6 was atrocious. Extremely OVERPRICED!!! PRICE GOUGING during the rodeo for parking that is normally free; beyond inconvenient if you were expecting visitors!!!
The elevator is old and breaks down, and it also can only hold five people! The carpet is old, stained, and lifted up throughout the hallways. I was walking down the hallway and something randomly fell out of the wall, which exposed the insulation in the wall. Let's not talk about the television, it was a Zenith (do they still make those)?? Also, all of the lights shut off while I was there and when I called the front desk she said it was a technical difficulty. Really?! Lastly, the parking sticker they put on your window isn't easy to get off!! The only good thing I can say was that the beds were comfortable!!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Jmart Three stories- no elevator? Really? I wish I had known.
Dragging my own bags up three flights of stairs and stepping into a dimly lit, hot room did not give the first impression I was hoping for. Holes in the wall between the nightstand and bed did nothing but make me wonder what might be crawling out when I finally got to sleep. That was about 3.45 AM when my neighbors next door sitting on the lanai finally quit talking and went inside. They weren't talking loudly, but I could still hear every word clearly , even through the drapes. I don't think I'll be staying at this Crowne Plaza on my return trips to Houston next week. No recognition for Priority Club membership.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by HoustonMaverick Excellent staff for the weekend of the Cook Off
Had reservations for the 21-23rd, but decided to book a night on the 20th to avoid the massive check-in the day Cook Off started. Had a different confirmation # and was concerned that I might have to check out and check back in, When I got to the desk, David assisted us and I asked if it was possible to get the same room throughout the weekend, and he made it happen. Since I was supposed to get a King for the 20th and 2 doubles for the other 3 nights, he took care of that making sure I had the king room all 4 nights.
On Saturday morning I was going to make some coffee in the room but the coffee maker was not working, so I went to the front desk with my wife to see if we could get a different coffee maker, but instead of that, the lady at the desk gave us a voucher for 2 coffees in the resturant, which when we got there to give to the person (Ryan) at the counter in the hallway, he did one better, he gave us breakfast on the house, He did not need to do this, he went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of.
I have stayed there before when cook off comes to Houston, but this time, the service was exceptional and the staff could not have been any better than they were.

First let me say that I stay primarily at ICHG hotels for business all over the country. As far as CPs go this one is not one to which I will return. The staff and service were good overall but the hotel parking was a nightmare and the neighborhood around the hotel is really bad. On my last night there they were setting up porta-johns with a big truck in the Reliant parking lot from 2:30 -3:30 a.m. and it kept making enormous crashing noises. Then, the next morning housekeeping decided that 8:30 a.m. would be a good time to vacuum the hall right outside my door. I slept maybe 4 hours and felt like they owed me a night after that.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Gizmocat A few gripes:
The light bulbs are so dim, it's difficult to even read a magazine in the room, or to put on make-up in the bathroom. Also, the toilet paper is poor quality - not befitting a hotel of this calibre. And those ridiculous toilet-paper holders that let the roll fall completely off! Some of the bathrooms don't even have ANY towel bars, so towels have to be piled up on the counter, using up much-needed space there. The coffee pot provides only ONE cup of coffee and doesn't even keep it warm, once brewed.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by macezero80 Excellent Staff and Clean
Room was clean and well furnished.
The only problem we had was when we arrived to our room, it was very warm so we turned on A/C, went to the lounge and then dinner. When we came back to room is hadn't cooled down any, so we called to front desk and someone was up to or room within 15 minutes and fixed the problem!
We had a pool view room and being able to sit on the balcony was a very nice experience.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by LAtoTX One of my med center favs
The best description I can give this hotel is "decayed decadence". I think it's probably an older hotel. The lobby is lovely and the main building is pretty nice. However, if you stay in one of the outer buildings, you get a trade off. On the one hand, if you stay in the outer buildings, you will probably get a microwave/refrigerator. On the other hand, the elevator is iffy (may or may not be working) and the decor is a little on the shabby side. Lately, I've noticed all the formerly comfy mattresses really need to be replaced and the air conditioning in several of the rooms left a lot to be desired. On the plus side, I feel safe staying here and it's very convenient to the medical center. I stay here quite often. My mom has stayed with me and used the shuttle several times and was very happy with it. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I recommend this hotel to anyone....just know in advance that it is an older hotel and has its quirks:-)

I was very disappointed with this property.
Management has very little concern for safety, more concerned with a fast profit.
Smoking rooms offered on website but none in hotel.
Property is beyond its prime.
Poor customer service.
Poor facilities.
Parking lot is full (to include fire lanes) during game day at Reliant with non guest cars.
Poor staff knowlege

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by chacha Good service and great rooms
This was our third stay at the crown plaza and we have always been treated very well. Customer care has always been good and attentive to whatever we need and questions always answered. Shuttle service excellent to and from hospital. The only con to the stay is that they have no rooms with recliner chairs. My spouse has a heart condition wish has made it impossible to lay comfortable in a bed. This one item would help many people with the same condition and that is one item we have not been able to find in any hotel we have stayed it. I take that back. We did stay overnite in one motel in San Angelo, Tx (much lower rate) that actually had a recliner. Other than this, excellent hotel and good breakfast.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by MA56 enjoyed our stay
Our room was a suite and had two AC controls. One worked and the other did not. The room could not cool properly due to size. This was not a problem for me because I like warmer temperatures, but my husband thought the room did not cool sufficiently. Otherwise ,we enjoyed our room and the bed was amazing. Had a great stay.
I would like to add that the drapes needed replacing. They were old and outdated and took away from the otherwise nice decor of the room.
The staff at the reception desk was friendly and helpful. The resturant staff could have been friendlier. Also I was told upon check in that there would be water and snacks in the room( or brought up shortly), but they never arrived. The next morning I asked the cleaning staff for a bottle of water, she did not respond, and I never got the water.

Wow, what a nice hotel. I went in with not very high expectations as I knew this was an older property and I was very pleasantly surprised. Updates are obvious and the room was very clean and comfortable. I loved the heavy, solid furniture in the room. Great value and nice view of the stadium and dome. My only complaint is that the wifi was hard to stay connected to in my room. I plan on staying here frequently on future trips.
