We had a very good experience overall. The lobby and rooms have a pleasing and updated decor. As a relatively new hotel, there were no major maintenance issues that one can run into in older hotels. That played into my reason for selecting this hotel when I made my reservations.
There was confusion over who in our party got a free breakfast buffet and who did not. My brother made the same reservation I did, yet he got breakfast coupons and our family did not. The first morning we were told I didn't have enough points (but my brother had zero --he had just signed up for the rewards program). The second day, we got breakfast. And, at $12 per person, that is not a minor deal. The breakfast buffet was tasty but not awesome --so I'd recommend considering eating breakfast out if you expect a lot for 12 dollars and don't get breakfast included. The menu options are a bit cheaper.
Staff members were very nice and accommodating. The location on Katy Freeway is not very scenic, and some floors may be noisy. My brother said he heard some highway noise on the 6th floor. We didn't hear any on the 3rd floor.
Not much scenery to look at and not really all that close to the Galleria Mall. But I knew that when I made the reservation. Others should look at the map to realize that the 'Galleria Area' extends to a large radius. it was close enough to the wedding events we needed to get to.
The wifi worked fine. And the heated outdoor pool was located in a courtyard that had pleasing scenery and high walls. We enjoyed swimming there because the pool was truly heated. It would have been better if there had been a hot tub --but it was still nice to find that the pool water wasn't freezing.
I would stay here again as the price, the rewards program, and the good experience make it a good choice.

General look and feel of the hotel: excellent. Very nice lobby. Inviting, clean.
Room itself was fine. Just average. Both my husband and I felt the room was too "small" for two queen sized beds. Extremely small closet and bathroom. No microwave,which we were extremely surprised about since we had a fridge and a coffee maker. Again, everything was clean though and very nice decor. We bumped into the housekeeper both days...she didn't say anything or even acknowledged us which I thought was rude. But otherwise no complaints and will certainly stay again.

The suites at the Crowne Plaza Houston Galleria Area are the nicest I've ever experienced. Although a short one night stay, the Crowne Plaza met and/or exceeded all my expectations. The breakfast buffet is top notch!

Very clean and comfortable, I would stay at this hotel again. We had priority club and they upgraded us to a one bedroom suite that was very nice. My one and only complaint is that this hotel is not geared towards kids, we brought our 7 year old and they did not have any channels for kids(disney channel, nick jr. etc...) so luckily we had our iPad to occupy her.

As soon as we arrived, just alone the entry way was beautiful. The lobby was gorgeous, with beautiful chandelier's and complimentary lemonade as you walk in. Room was comfortable and my needs were definitely met. Location was okay.

Some very helpful staff. The smell in the lifts was a bit strange, smelt like stale water. The shuttle bus could have been more fllexible by being able to drop people off toplaces within a radius, and not just 2 locations. But overall stay was very good.

As far as the room itself, it met our expectations. The room was very nice and clean. Also, the bed was very comfortable. However, on our first trip down the elevator, my husband and I got stuck between the first and second floors. It scared us because the elevator kept bouncing. That was the first time something like that has ever happened to us. After a couple of minutes, we pushed the help button. Then after about 2 minutes, the elevator brought us to the second floor. We took the rest of the way down by stairs. As soon as we got to the front desk, we mentioned it to the guy there, and he said it’s happened before. He did not apologize for it getting stuck on us, nor did it seem like anything was done about it. Also, some of the staff is unfriendly.

I chose this hotel because it was less than a year old, and because it was close to my daughter's family. The hotel is lovely, from the entrance, and the restaurant, to the room decor. I liked the selection of items on the breakfast buffet, and found the restaurant staff to be attentive and friendly. The front desk staff was friendly and efficient. I will definitely stay there again.

This is a super nice hotel that provides top notch service and recognized PC members.
Brand new property, fast internet, clean rooms, great service, great water pressure, great everything!
I was upgraded to an amazing suite, with K-cup machine, lots of room! To make it even better I was just a few steps away from the executive lounge.
The lounge had a small continental breakfast and evening cocktail hour which was super nice.
If in the area again, I will without a doubt stay at this hotel!
The only recommendation I have is that a full service breakfast for platinum members would be nice.

The rooms are very clean and new.The entire property is well designed and extremly clean.On my first stay here weeks ago we had the wonderful opportunity to meet the V.P. of Operations, Mr. Sam.He saw my wife in a wheelchair immediately after foot surgery and stoped us and introduced himself.He was wonderful.There are great hotels here in New Orleans where we live but Mr. Sam makes this a Great hotel.He has to be the hardest working guy in the Hotel industry.He is always there.All of their staff is great and Adam the bell man was helpful .Even the restaurant food there is good.Great conversation bar with wonderful appetizers.Strong recommendation for you to stay there and tell Mr. Sam that New Orleans sends big" Hello" to the "Boss" Great people to deal with.

Interior was well refurbished, the fitness suite was too small and had to wait on two occasions to use the treadmills. The bedroom was spacious and well appointed. Staff were very good, except breakfast serving, where on 2 out 4 days the service was very poor, on both occasions I left before getting any coffee and tables were not cleared from previous customers. The location was not very appealing being next to the I10, I was subjected to constant drone of traffic in the room.

A very well run hotel. The front of office staff deserve particular praise for their friendly and efficient service. I also liked the pool. The main downside is the location. It is three miles from the Galleria shopping complex which is where I really wanted to stay. It is basically right next to the main Houston ring road. A very good value hotel but do not be misled by the location.

Rooms were very comfortable . I slept like a baby. We did not hear a lot of noise. The breakfast was good (except for the oatmeal . It was very watery) the front desk had a great since of humor. I would definitely stay there again

I liked how clean and modern the hotel/room was. The bedding and linen was comfortable which is a plus in my book. Ive been to other Crowne Plazas and was not as impressed. I did not like the noise from the highway at this location. Next time i'd request a room located in the rear of the hotel.

The decor was Great, and the bed was Fabulously Comfortable!!
However, the Elevator, while they look updated inside, they are very old, slow and some of my guest got stuck for about a minute.
If you are claustrophobic and do not like Elevators I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING THE STAIRWELLS!! They were Well Lit and Clean!!
If they get those Elevators REPLACED AND INSTALL PHONES IN THEM AND/OR A CALL SYSTEM IN CASE YOU GET STUCK LONGER THAN A MINUTE, THEN I WOULD CONSIDER STAYING AGAIN.
They are actually about 20 minutes are so depending on traffic from the Galleria.l

We stayed as part of a wedding party and were thoroughly pampered. Our stay was first - restful and certainly the amenities of this hotel were perfect. Don't hesitate to spend your time with this location, new, vibrant, and the staff is well-trained and attentive to providing for every need.

I was initially concerned about this property being so close to the highway but once I stepped inside this was not an issue. Staff was exceptionally courteous and helpful. Hotel was recently remodeled and excellent condition. Convenient location and very price competitive for the area.

I am so glad we have a new Crowne Plaza hotel in Houston. The one downtown is nice but the others are just old and run down. This property is a refreshing modern design with a very nice lounge and bar. The room I stayed in was very nice too. Even though my room was the 1 King basic room it included a small fridge and small couch with an ottoman to kick up my feet. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel and will be sure to visit again.

Being a Priority Club Platinum Member, I frequently put my trust in the Holiday Inn family of businesses. This particular hotel and Staff are fantastic in every way...a credit to their brand and profession.
The Staff of the Crowne Plaza (Galleria location) enabled me to host 7 elderly family members escaping the latest hurricane to threaten Southern LA.
On short notice I was able to not only secure the rooms I needed, but to ensure handicap access for several relatives. The Staff were dedicated to making our week long stay as comfortable as possible. Their thoughtful assistance made a very stressful situation bearable...and in fact helped me turn the evacuation into a sorely need mini vacation (or as close as is possible).
Knowing your current living situation is taken care of and that a professional Staff will make sure your family wants for nothing enabled me to work on making sure their homes in LA were ready for return.
I highly recommend this hotel and sincerely appreciate their hard work on my behalf!

The hotel is in a good location with easy access to the I-10 freeway, shopping, restaurants and the Houston Galleria.
The hotel has been completely renovated inside and out before becoming a Crowne Plaza.
The parking lot has been resurfaced and there is ample parking at both sides, with some parking in the front area of the hotel. The lighting is very good at night.
The reception staff were very friendly, polite and had some knowledge of the area.
The bar / restaurant area was clean and well laid out. The range of drinks was good, so was the food – the only thing really I will mention was the lack of a good dessert – nothing that had a wow!
Just the stand old stuff you get everywhere else (and not as good as it should be). Apart from that the food was really good, good value and the service was good too.
The server had only just started working at the hotel but was very efficient and she knew the menu and I took her advance – great steak!
The bedrooms – wow! They were very clean, modern and even though I had a room on the freeway side, the noise of the passing traffic was not really noticeable.
Air conditioning worked well and was not too noisy like some I have experienced!
Priority Club members have a lounge on the 6th floor where you can have complementary breakfast and enjoy a drink or to (check days and times)!
The swimming pool is again amazing – check out the cabana’s in the ‘official’ pictures on their website.
All the photo’s on their website are very accurate and give a good visual representation.
I did have a problem at checkout but, the issue was resolved very quickly with fuss, which is a good sign.
Would I stay here again – Yes! I have stayed in a few of the Crowne Plaza’s in the Houston area and this is far the best.
Great place to stay and hang out!
