Room spacious, solid door between front sitting area and bedroom. Temperature a little tricky as the thermostat is in front room so bedroom was warmer than front room even with door open. My trip coincided with the NBA All-star weekend, bad news is my room price went up and I felt it was not as good a deal as the first night of my stay, good news is even with the hotel filled to capacity with revelers, noise was not an issue at all during my second night. Plan your arrival time so that you do not arrive in conjunction with Houston rush hour traffic as it can be very slow at times to near stand still.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by YWN060651 My stay was enjoyable and received wonderful service
My visit was during All-Star Weekend, so the cost, for the most part was double than I normally pay at any Crowne Plaza for a suite per night, but for the location and wonderful service provided by the Housekeeping Department staff in keeping our room fresh and adequately supplied with towels and toiletries for our four night stay it was well worth it. We enjoyed the food prepared for us at the Sierra Grille and although the hotel is off the freeway, the room was almost noise free. I had no annoyance from outside. My overall stay was very enjoyable and I will return to Crowne Plaza near Sugarland again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ponkey Excellent Staff, Comfortable stay
My family had to make accomadations when we found out our usual way of staying was unavailable. We had appointments at MD Anderson the first day, the second day my husband had a flight out to Amarillo. This trip we took our 4 1/2 year old son with us, so it was extremely important to have entertainment due to the weather. We wanted an indoor pool for him to be able to play while we were at our appointments. The staff was extremely friendly towards my family, the price was excellent, and the continental breakfast was to die for!!! Overall, the entire staff treated us as if we were guests in THEIR home!

I was impressed and truly enjoyed my stay. A good location in Houston, with easy access to business locations in Sugarland and Restaurants and Shopping in the Galleria. The staff were excellent and my oversized suite was immaculate. I recommend this hotel and will definitely visit the hotel again on my business trips.

I was treated like a VIP as soon as I walked up to the desk. Recognized as a Priority Club guest and put on the VIP floor. This made me look very important to my guests. The manager was very helpful in checking me in and made sure I had everything I needed. I checked in late without any reservations and was still provided with quality service and room

The service and staff were great from the time I reserved the room; very helpful. The room was larger than most and felt more like a house than a hotel room. I am used to the Hotels in England which are tiny as compared to this one and this is very reasonably priced. The beds are super comfy and the entire property is very clean and well kept. The food was great and the bar area and lobby were very well kept up and nice. I'd definitely stay here again. I was also impressed with the shuttle service within the 10 mile radius which was a great help and most hotels do not do this for the guests and since people in the US drive on the wrong side of road as compared to England:-) being driven around was a great relief for me personally. I will be back next year and will be sure to stay here again.

I stayed here at this beautiful hotel last week and was blown away by the caliber of this property and the ambiance. The staff went out of the way to accommodate all ny requests. I had stayed here many years ago when it was na Embassy suites and what a difference ! The rooms are very well appointed, large and spacious and the restaurant food was incredible. I have recently been assigned to this region and this will indeed my hotel of choice for my upcoming visits. My only concern was the Pool was a little cooler that I had hoped for but it was a minor problem. I really enjoyed my time at the First Colony mall in Sugar Land.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Thishotelsucks Depressing lobby & atrium. Dark, stark, moody
Whoever designed this hotel lobby must have lived in a cave, and loved it. Dark wood, low lights, muted tones, depressing, depressing. Not a plant or living thing in sight, mainly dark brown walls of wood. Stark. Cold. Great venue for a Goth event.

Check in went well But everything went down hill from there. I brought my family along on my business trip because I had been traveling away from home a lot. I thought the pool would be great for my 6 year old but it was so dirty we barely let her use it. Requested basic things from the hotel staff and received slow or non existent responses.

We love to stay here when we are picking up/dropping off our kids at college. Our kids always enjoy coming to the hotel to dine with us. The food is delicious and affordable plus the service is wonderful. We always look forward to unwinding at the end of the day in the indoor pool and then heading to the restaurant. We know there is something that each one of the five of us will enjoy!

From the moment I arrived to the moment I left I was simply impressed. The check-in was the most rapid I've ever experienced with outstanding staff personnel. I called the manager from the greeting note that was on my bed to relay my pleasure with that check-in. The porter, the check-in personnel, the bartender, waiters and waitresses were all effecient, friendly, and prompt. The facilities are top-notch and I especially liked the pool and hot-tub (the jets could be better balanced though). The waitress served me there by request and checked on us several times. Great hotel outside of Houston proper that isn't that far and worth the short drive to experience if you're in the area. Thanks for a very pleasant experience!

I have now stayed at this hotel on five different occassions and I have always had a great experience. The efficient and friendly staff, the clean rooms and comfortable beds, the great business center, the fitness center and finally the amazing food served in the restaurant contribute greatly to my stay.
I would not stay any where else.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Travel41 Very Nice Place
I recently stayed at this Crowne Plaza. This is an ALL SUITES upscale hotel.
The Front Desk was wonderful at both check in and check out! they offered to sign me up with priority club, which I initially declined (I don't need any more junk mail or email) then Jessica explained how the point system works, WOW I even got a goody bag just for signing up! Along with night time cookies! I look forward to the goody bag and cookies on my return trip to Houston!! I had the privilege of talking to Matthew (front desk Assistant Manager) during both transactions. He was training some fairly new team members and was incredibly nice to both myself and the trainee. I have to say, it is always comforting to know the Management is kind to the staff as well as the guests!
The room was amazing! It smelled very clean, no dust anywhere! (Such a relief!) The bed was so comfortable, I am considering one for my home ( I spoke with the GM, he advised me that it is a Sealy and can be ordered on line, he provided me with the link! Nice Guy!). The Wolfgang puck coffee was greatly appreciated, as most hotel room coffee is horrible! There were flat screen Television sets is both the living room and the bedroom. FREE (yes I said FREE) wifi and parking! WOO HOO! I almost never encounter FREE PARKING AND FREE WIFI! Kudos for not padding the tab there, Crowne Plaza! And very much appreciated by this guest!
The lobby Cafe served really good food, you can choose from a couple of different menus as well as the daily special. The little lobby bar was very cozy, good drinks and friendly bartenders!
One thing I want to point out, the hotel is ATRIUM style, therefore you can see the door to your room while in the lobby, which I really liked. Some hotels send you on a wild goose chase down this hall and that hall to find your room (which also allows for strangers to be lurking around).
The hotel also has security, which I encountered both nights I was there. He was a very nice gentleman and very thorough in making sure that all who enter the Hotel after dark should be there. Another nice touch!
The hotel offers shuttle service, which I did not take advantage of since I had a rental. The bell service was great with directions and suggestions!
All the staff I came into contact with were very helpful and smiled quite a lot. When I approached the little lobby housekeeper regarding directions, she spoke limited English but understood me and smiled while walking me to the Front Desk for directions. Superb staff!
I will definitely return to this Crowne Plaza!

I am frequent treveler and stay at several Crowne Plazas around the world. The best ones are in China ( Of Course :-) This particular Crowne plaza was more spacious and had all the amenities I look for during my stays and I was not nickled and dimed for tem. My Suite had a Microwave, Referigerator, in room safe, and free super fast internet which is very important due to the nature of my business. The staff was the the best in all areas of the hotel. This will be my go to hotel every time I come to Houston !

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by xoxoxoxoxox not up to Crowne Plaza standard
This property is old Embassy Suite. It is old and dated and rooms are not up to Crowne Plaza standards. Several guests in our party had issues with door locks not working. Vehicle traffic noise was very noticable in the rooms. That being said, we had a wonderful time. The staff was warm and very helpful.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by RS12 Decent room and ambiance, horrible service!
I stayed here with my boyfriend the weekend of Oct 27th for a friend's wedding. We were directed to this property as it was quite close to the wedding hall, and provided a discount for anyone associated with the wedding party. So we figured, why not? The check in process went fairly smoothly, the main entrance, bar and restaurant are quite well done. The room itself was I'd say slightly above average. The bed was comfortable, room itself well stocked, and the shower clean. It did seem odd the amount of empty space in the 'living' area made it feel like something was missing, but that's not really a complaint more of an observation.
The first night we went downstairs to the bar for a few drinks and a quick bite, and were impressed by both! The bartender was very sweet, drinks were a bit pricey but top quality, and the appetizer was also above par. We ordered the steak, and salmon sandwich to go which were delivered very quickly. The salmon was decent, the steak inedible and overcooked.
The 2 big complaints stemmed around the front desk staff. They informed us that they could drop us off to the wedding within 10 miles, but would not pick us up and stopped running at 930pm. I've never heard of an airport shuttle with one way service! (They also failed to mention that NO cabs would even come close to the area we needed a pick up from). Had we not made other arrangements last minute we would've truly been stranded!
The 2nd issue was that I asked for a simple wake up call , and a cab to the airport for Sunday morning- the front desk clerk confirmed she'd set up both. Luckily I happened to check my cell phone that morning and woke up, because the wake up call never happened. When I called the desk to find out why, and to confirm the cab- they had no idea what I was talking about and asked three seperate times 'what room is this for again'. As if I was not even a guest at the hotel! I ended up having to scrap together a ride to the airport on my own, without so much as an apology from the front desk!
All in all- decent property, clean, well kept, but man does the front desk staff make the experience not worth the savings.

I am a Platinum Priority club member and stay at various Crowne Plazas for business and this one is my favorite Hotels. Each time I stay at this location I impressed. I am welcomed everytime I come in, after a long day's work. My room always looks great, and has a very enjoyable Restaurant so if I didn't feel like driving, I am satisfied by eating there. All around great experience and I would highly recommend to anyone who is traveling on business, or staying with family or friends on vacation. Great place!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Fedup Don't book at this hotel
We got there very late on a very stormy night. It was midnight we had driven 3 hours in pouring rain so to say we were exhausted is an understatement. The parking lot was fairly empty so there were plenty of rooms. I asked for a room away from the highway and the ice machine because I had read that tip from another reviewer of this hotel. The fellow who checked me in was very accommodating and tried to put us in such a room. However, we get up there and the key will not work. We go back down, (9 floors down to be exact) and get the key reprogrammed. It still will not work so my daughter goes back down and they move us to another room. ON the highway side. Well, ok, at this point I really am too tired to care and figured they could move us tomorrow. This room looked like it had been road hard and put up wet. My daughter goes to use the toilet and it's broken. The front desk sends up the SECURITY GUARD to look at the toilet. Yes, he determines it's broken. So they move us to yet another room. (Did I mention that we arrived at midnight? And yes we did call ahead.) Anyway, guess where the room is located. YES that's right, on the highway side and RIGHT NEXT TO THE ICE MACHINE. Wow really? Anyway, I turn on the TV and it starts crackling and popping like it's going to explode. So once again I call down to the front desk. He tells me to unplug and plug it back in. (So apparently, this is not the first time this has happened.) Anyway, it works so we bed down for the night. They never even offered to comp our room for a night and instead gave us some coupons for breakfast. Why don't they just slap me in the face? The condition of the room is fair at best. The curtains were torn and dirty and the bathroom walls looked dirty, the bottom of the door frame in the bathroom was broken and there were no hooks or hangers to even hang a hand towel. NOT what one would expect from a Crowne Plaza Hotel. All I can say is if you CHOOSE this Hotel, You're ON YOU"RE OWN.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JEDM Exceeded my expectations
Whenever I travel in the US, I try to find Crowne Plaza Hotels. Their wonderful beds are the best for my horrible back and in general, there are lots of little perks for a mid priced hotel.
This particular hotel is located off the access road of the 59 freeway. Since this is Houston, you need a car to really go anywhere. The good news is there is a wonderful steak house and an Olive Garden that are right next the hotel and easy (a few yards away) to walk. The hotel also has a restaurant. The breakfast buffet was absolutely superb and the overall dining experience was first class at dinner, unlike some the typical hotel restaurants. I was really impressed with their Asian Corner Menu and the food was very authentic.
The suites are very clean and large. Two plasma TV's. One in the bedroom and one in the sitting room. Rooms include a fridge, coffee maker with Wolfgang Puck coffee and the beds....Ah...the beds! Very comfortable and very clean. This was a very good experience! Well worth the money

Love2travel Ver Accommodating indeed !
I stayed at the Crowne Plaza with my elderly parents, we traveled quite a long way for apts. with MD Anderson.
We were very tired (and probably a little grumpy) upon arrival, the Front Desk Manager (Kareen) noticed my elderly parents promptly and helped them to a seat in the lobby waiting area, which is very nice! He then checked us into a first floor handicapped room. During this process he offered to sign us up for priority club and gave us a goody bag!
The room was great! My parents were able to get around the large suite, which was fully equiped for the handicapped. The walk in shower and hand rails were such a blessing!
The location of our room was a short walk to the Front desk, the cafe, and the exit. This was so wonderful for my parents.
We did eat in the cafe, Our server was very professional and made small talk with my Dad. The omelets were very good! We ordered room service for dinner, which arrived promptly and hot. The room service attendant called our room within an hour and came to retrieve the dirty tray. This was so nice! He left us with a pitcher of iced water so that my parents could take thier medication.
The nice Cleaning Lady was working in the lobby when I ask her for extra pillows and an extra blanket for my Mom. She promptly left what she was doing, walked me to the front desk, where they informed me that the items would be sent to my room. Within minutes the same Cleaning Lady was at the door with the items. She had a very unique name which I am not sure how to spell (Mutaamaz?). The service was just all around wonderful! I have never experienced anything like it. A lot of the time, hotel staff tends to make a person feel guilty for asking for anything extra. NOT this one! I didn't even feel compelled to start out with "I am sorry to bother you, but...)! They approach you with a smile and deliver with a smile, asking if anything else is needed! This was the general attitude throughout the hotel and our stay! It really was so nice!
In my opinion, the hotel was very clean, very well staffed and very accommodating. We will be staying here with every MD Anderson appointment. We wouldn't even consider another hotel because the staff is friendly and willing to help with anything and everything they can.
We did not need to utilize the hotel shuttle service, however it was offered to us which is such a huge bonus! My parents will be able to get around should I not be able to accompany them in the future.
A big thank you to Crowne Plaza, as the only child of ailing parents I can honestly say YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!
