Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by dzue great Hotel, will come back definitely
we had an extended private weekend in this hotel and we were absolutely happy with our choice. In walking distance to all major tourist hot spots, safe and nice area, shops and restaurants around! The Hotel is very charming and the staff very customer oriented. In the afternoon, snacks, beverages and even warm food was available in the club lounge (for gold card members only). The breakfast was superb !! We will come back!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by masterman2 A good choice if you plan to do a lot of sightseeings
If you plan to do a lot of sightseeing in Istanbul, this hotel is a prefect choice. It located in the Grand Bazaar District, and is only 500 metres from the Light Rail Akarsay Station, where you can take a direct train to/from the airport for only 2 TL with Istanbul Card.
The hotel itself occupy 4 ancient house blocks, and the lobby is roomy and has a classy Ottaman decor. You seems walkin to a small Turkish courtyard as you walk into the hotel for the first time.
I have to talk about the downside: the hotel was bulit on a slope, and if you plan to walk to the Topkapi area, do expect a lot of uphill walking. The Turkish bath is nice but cramped, and the sauna and pool are small. my firend got his leg scalded when he was in the steam room. Although there are glass elevators in every block, but there are lots of stairs to climb, and may not be easy for disabled guests.
However, the service is good, the breakfast is great, and the tram stop just outside. The mony exchange offices in Akasay offer the best rate in all Istanbul - without charging any commission.
Blue Mosque, AyaSofya and Topkapi Palace is only 5 minutes tram ride away, and for 82 euro per night, it is a good choice if you prefer a classy hotel to relax after a long day of sightseeing.

Definitely excellent value for price. Rooms are big, lobby almost monumental , staff is friendly and professional. Gym could be better though.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by greensofas Great place to stay
This was my second solo visit. I stayed elsewhere the first half because it was not available. I was so happy to return. There are many nice boutique hotels for the same price by the water but this one feels so much more worldly. It's beautiful inside and out. The spa and pool are nice. I felt so safe. It is in the perfect location. I walked straight down the road to all the sights. There is a tram outside the door. The taxis here are not the cheating kind. The only drawback may be to you is that there aren't many people here in the winter so the bar and the restaurant are really not worth going to except breakfast. You won't meet anyone here. But the lobby is grand and just seeing the lovely cafe and bar in the lobby feels welcoming. This is the kind of hotel that is good for people who are into themselves, not the hustle and bustle of the cities biggest hotel with ten restaurants onsite. I prefer eating out anyway. It is just peaceful and looks so grand.

A family holiday on 2nd-5th of February 2014
We're greeted with smile upon arrival to the hotel.
I booked 2 rooms and they were upgraded since i am an IHG member. The rooms are clean and spacious.
The staffs at the reception are very polite and give a detail explanation about all the rewards/facilities available at the hotel. The concierge is also helpful in arranging tour with a discount. Housekeeping are excellent.
The hotel located very close to the grand bazaar (about 7 minute walk) and tram stop is only 250m from the hotel.
There are many local diner/kebab house/ restaurant near the hotel as well.
Overall, it was a splendid and memorable stay at the hotel.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Muallems Excellent location to visit Aya Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi, Grand Bazar
We were a family of 2 adults + 4 kids came to spend 9-days school break in Istanbul. Generally Excellent front desk staff. I like to thank Gokhan for his distinguished friendliness. Concierge was very nice (Omar / Hakan) but overloaded .. in several occasions I had to wait long while he is busy with other guests. Service in lobby lounge/bar was excellent. Hotel is within walking distance to most touristic ancient attractions We enjoyed the friendly smiles on all hotel staff which made us feel at home. Although we arrived at hotel very early (8:30 AM) we were well received and check in time was short, We were upgraded as IHG Gold Members and offered two Club Rooms (large corner rooms) which also come with free breakfast in the Executive Lounge. Breakfast was free but attendant lady was not so friendly . She needs to improve her attendance and offer help frequently required by most guests.
Special thanks go to the Hotel Manager who in recognition of my IHG Gold Membership agreed to extend our stay one additional night at the same competitive rate (which I got with a very early reservation). This is highly appreciated. I recommend this Crowne Plaza for visitors who like to visit the memorable old city and avoid the busy slow city traffic..
