Comfortable bed. Staff needs training.

I have stayed at this hotel several times on business. The hotel itself is getting a little tired. On my most recent trip, the room was okay. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean. What bothered me was the staff at checkout. I called from the room to ask if they could email my receipt to me. I was assured they would mail it to me, and "Thanks, have a nice day". Before I allowed the young lady to hang up the phone, I asked her what email address she would email my receipt to. It was then that she realized she had no clue. So I gave it to her..very slowly...to ensure she had it. Then I was assured she would mail it immediately. I checked out. In the next hour, no email. I called the hotel. Was told they mailed it and I should have it. Gave them the address again and was told they would do it immediately. She gave it to her manager and the manager mailed it. No email. Called agin. Annoyed manager said she mailed it. No email. I finally had to drive back to the hotel to get the receipt in person and the manager blamed the younger lady for giving her the wrong room number. I asked her, "but wouldn't the email come to me even if it WAS the wrong room number"? She had no answer. And I STILL HAVENT RECEIVED THE RECEIPT BY EMAIL. The staff was incapable of sending it electronically.
On another note, my trip to this hotel prior to this one, I took photos of the room. Long black hair on the tub. Furniture that was broken and dilapidated. Leaks with make-shift fixes. I dislike writing negative reviews..about facilities OR staff. Sometimes it's necessary though. Next time I stay in KC I imagine it will be at another property.

Close and Comfortable

By

The location was perfect! Close to the convention center where we needed to go and close to ample shopping, dining and tourist attractions - most within walking distance.
The only negative thing I could say about this hotel was that it only had three elevators which is far too few especially when a large number of people check in or out. We wound up treking up six flights of steps after checkout. And I do not think that you should be charged for parking when you are staying at the hotel. That's just wrong.
Otherwise, great location, great rooms and great staff!!!!!

Hotel/Room Overdo for Upgrades

By

August 15, 2014

I was very disappointed in the cleanliness of the room. The carpet clearly had not been vacuumed. The room had a stale, musty odor to it.

I stayed in the Crowne Plaza because it was located near the Kansas City Crossroads and my friends and I wanted to participate in First Friday. It was just a few blocks away and very easy to find.

Rooms Smell Like Soured Millk

By

August 13, 2014

Every room occupied by our party had wet carpets and smelled like soured milk immediately upon entry. We had rooms on 5 different floors. Staff tried to excuse away as due to the heavy rains--which according to weather reports had been a while. That might explain how the outside carpet was wet, but the carpets in every room were so wet, that water immediately soaked your socks or came up between your toes. No one seemed real interested in addressing. Clear and obvious signs of flooding in ceilings---and really bad repairs. For the money, and the expectation of granduer associated with the hotel name..........it failed miserably.

Check in line was very long and took quite sometime to get through. Also the garage was closed due to parking lot being full and I paid for parking.

Pleasant Suprise

By

platinumelite

The hotel was a welcome surprise for our 8-year old granddaughter to celebrate her birthday. In addition to the rooftop pool, she was fascinated by the view of the city from the 22nd floor. I found the hotel very well maintained and the staff was superb. The only issue I had was the mattress was a little soft for my tastes. If the opportunity arises, I'll be back.

Comfortable Stay

By

August 11, 2014

Comfortable bed, different size pillows to choose from, walk in closet was great and helped keep clutter out of the main space.

I did not use the fitness room on this trip but did the last time I stayed and it was great with a good variety of equipment.

Nothing Motley about this Crue

By

August 08, 2014

club

We came into town for the Motley Crue concert. We were able to get checked in quickly. Got changed. Headed into Power and Light for something to eat. And then to an amazing show. After it was over; we were able to come back and have a good night's sleep. In the morning, a yummy breakfast sent us on our way. It was a great stay all around.

Week Stay

By

August 08, 2014

Overall, I was pleased with the staff and hotel. I was in town for business and stayed several days. Bed was comfortable and the room was all I needed to suite my needs. Only issue I had was it seemed to take awhile to get hot water in the shower even though it was instant in the sink? Made no sense to me but there was a difference. The television was a nice size but they use DirecTv so the signal for some stations was bad while the majority of channels was fine.
