Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing This property has a lot of offer, though the past couple of times I've stayed have not been up to par. To begin with, it is under construction, and though you can tell it will be quite lovely when completed, it still presents some inconvenience. Upon check in, I was not recognized as a Platinum member, or given some sort of gift for being so (such as a bottle of water#. The bathroom wasn't cleaned very well, as there was hair on the floor. Also, the toilet would not flush well, and it would take 5-5 flushes to flush down waste. This is another sign of poor housekeeping #the maid didn't flush the toilet when cleaning?# I went to the front desk to advise the problem. The attendant advised that someone would be up there in 30 minutes #per my request) to fix the toilet. I also asked about any Platinum gifts at that time, and was advised they no longer do those sort of things, since they will soon no be affiliated with IHG. Anyway, I came back to my room several hours later to find that the toilet was NOT fixed. I called to complain again at that point. To be fair, a manager called my cell phone after I checked out to try to discuss the problem. He left a message, I returned his call 30 minutes later, and got his voice mail, but have not received a follow up call. The A/C unit sounded like a belt was broken and squeaking all night long, making sleep difficult. Lastly, the internet at that property has been in-effective every time I have stayed there. It is very poor. Granted, I returned to the hotel know the internet is bad so I likely have no right to complain. I offer this feedback to others so that if you have business you'll need to conduct, you should know that this property is not conducive to doing so. I won't be staying here again. The staff really didn't seem to care about making the problem right, and for all the money they are spending on cosmetic fixes, it seems little is being done regarding upgrading plumbing, air conditioning, and internet. In short, the property is a lot of sizzle, and very little steak. December 30, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by disappointing construction going on This is our second time staying here and the staff was as very good, from front desk clerk to the parking valet. My wife and I stayed three nights this time. However, I was a bit disappointed with the amount of construction going on. The main lobby was non existent because it was being remodeled. Also, some hallways were congested with paint crews working. I was also a bit disappointed because there was no complimentary coffee offered in the lobby each morning, which is usually expected in a hotel of this caliber. December 16, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Ok but some issues The overall standard was ok but as there were alterations going on the hotel was without water for a number of hours on 2 days. We checked in but were not told of the problem and I had to phone reception once I found that there was no water. They knew there was a problem but seemed not to be worried but didn't know when it would be fixed. Similarly on the second occasion there was no notice or warning and no sense of urgency from the staff. These issues spoilt what would be a nice hotel, but this is not the standard I expect from a crowne plaza. December 16, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by La Concha Construction workers everywhere in the hotel. They shut off the water one afternoon with no warning. No maid service one day. Bugs in the restaurant. One elevator for 4 floors resulting in long waits. No ice machines exept on the fourth floor. Overcharged $120 on my bill and no one will reply. December 15, 2013

Our stay at La Concha was good, the only complaint was they were doing a major renovation and had a recent water break so it would have been better if the construction was done. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Overall Experience was unbeatable! This was one of the most enjoyable stays we have experienced. The hotel was going through a renovation, but that didn't bother us one bit. The restaurant was only serving breakfast, due to the renovation. The hotel was very clean and the staff was very nice, friendly and helpful. Every time we saw a hotel employee they asked if there was anything we needed. We asked for a late checkout and that was no problem. The location was great as it was in the middle of where we wanted to be. This was the second year we went to Key West in December, but the first time we stayed here. Can't wait to return and we will most certainly stay here every time we are in Key West. December 14, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Ask About Construction Before Booking!! Everyone should be aware upfront that the hotel is under major construction. There was a lot of noise, dust, and when we stayed a broken pipe that cause flooding and a bad smell. I understand that things happen (i.e. Pipes break), but it happened approx. two weeks before we arrived and the hotel didn't notify us! Additionally, the construction was never publically availible. For the price of the hotel, based on all the construction, we would have stayed elsewhere if we would have know--probably why no one mentioned it!! It also effected the hotel dining and breakfast that we paid extra for--the hotel should have made it clear! December 13, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by La Concha Stay 11/29/13 Our stay at La Concha was indeed memorable. Let me first say that the location is exceptional for those wanting the full Duval Street experience. That was the only positive. The construction going on during our stay marred most of our visit. While we expect minor inconvenience at a hotel that remains open during construction, we did not anticipate the water being turned off for 2 of the 4 days we were there, the restaurant being unable to offer dinner or restrooms for the entire time we were there, and the incessant noise. We were given no advance notice of any of the above. That would have made a world of difference. The lack of water prohibited us from showering or using the restrooms in our hotel for the majority of one day of our stay and part of another. The most difficult part of that experience was the complete lack of compassion and customer service provided by the staff. I've seldom seen a situation handled so unprofessionally and callously as this. We were given absolutely no compensation or courtesy for our troubles. Had it not been for this ridiculous situation, it would have been easier to overlook the minuscule rooms, the bathroom with the peeling paint and the foreign hairs, and the subpar pool area. For the price of the room - the bathroom accomodations should be better. Very disappointing that during the week of my stay (Thanksgiving) the restaurant was under contstruction - no lunch/dinner or room service. Your site should have displayed this information and/or your front desk should have updated when confirming the reservation by phone. December 2, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great location, terrible management The hotel is nice, great location. Management made a bad decision in not mentioning the extensive remodeling project going on in the lobby. Extremely loud noise (jackhammers). This also caused the restaurant to be closed. When it rained on our stay, the roof leaked which resulted in fans blowing in the hallways trying to dry the carpet. The fact that they chose not to let guests know about the condition of their hotel or letting them know that the amenities that they boast on their website were in fact not available made for a bad situation when we arrived. The management is completely throwing their poor desk employees under the bus with upset customers. I asked for the manager and the employee said he will get him, then came back out and said that he was unavailable. All that said, I do think that I would stay here again but I will have a lot of questions before I book. The girl at the desk did give me a $50.00 credit and breakfast coupons. They served breakfast only, on hotplates set up on the bar. I do think management needs to be honest with their potential guests and let THEM make an educated decision as to whether or not they want to stay there with the current condition. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Vacation in Key West La Concha is right in the middle of Key West, close to and within walking distance of nearly all of the local attractions. We didn't have a car, we walked. There are also a number of fine restaurants that we walked to also. There was some remodeling going on, but the inconvenience was minor. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Overall experience The Crowne Plaza cost A LOT OF POINTS and was not worth the price. We had a view of a roof top and were located above the hotel entrance which added to the noise we heard in the room. There was also construction going on, and we were not informed before our trip that there would be NO food service, NO room service during our trip. The construction that was taking place was next to, and under our room and they started using jack hammers, drills, saws, hammers etc at 7:00 am. It felt like they were in our room with us - NOT A VERY RESTFUL STAY! There were used toiletries in our bathroom when we arrived and there was items from the previous occupant still left in the refridgerator. The shower curtain was not big enough for the shower and all of the corners on the counter, sink and shower/bathtub were dirty as well as the bathroom door. The overall quality of our stay was horrible and I will tell everyone I know NOT to stay at the Crowne Plaza in Key West. November 21, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by WOW!! What a GREAT place to stay. The hotel is spectacular. My and Son I were in for a few days. From the moment we arrive we were treated like kings. The guestroom was very large and well appointed. I usually have difficulty sleeping in a hotel for the first few nights. I was sleeping like a baby from the first night. The beds are very comfortable. We only had breakfast each morning at the hotel, breakfast was fantastic and sooo many choices. Location you can not beat it. We were right in the middle of all of the entertainment, shopping and Dining. From the hotel you were with in walking distance and just a few minutes from the beach or the marina. If you want a balcony overlooking the 'action' on the main drag, ask for a 2nd floor room and if you desire more serene accommodations, ask for a courtyard (interior) room which looks out onto a pool, sunning areas and a bar. Our guestroom, while slightly smaller than we're use to, does mirror the era of construction and was nicely appointed. If you're looking for non-baseboard level outlets, there is one in the side of the night stand, facing the mattress. It's a bit hidden, but convenient once located. Once the renovation is completed, this hotel will be spectacular in every way with a roof-top spa, a needed addition to this well-placed classic hotel. The hotels’ staff is attentive, knowledgeable and has a penchant to please their guests, an oftentimes overlook quality in the hospitality business. November 20, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Room Overall, the staff were exceptional, including all the valets and engineers who helped with our car troubles. assistant Manger very helpful and professional, as we had a real problem with the car, the valets concierge, and receptionists all much better trained than the norm in Florida too. Our room contained food in fridge and open beer in closet, which was not acceptable, and the cleaning staff dealt with that right away. They also have kindly mailed me an article clothing left behind in the room. Because of the car issues, we were able to stay another night at a similar rate, which was very very good of Crowne Plaza Management. November 13, 2013
