Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by colonelmike plumbing & machanical systems lead to sleepless nights
This hotel is in a great location and staff services were fine. However, the constant banging of the plumbing and mechanical systems made sleeping difficult.
Also, bars and restaurants closed early by Key West standards. The rooftop bar draws a nice crowd at sunset but bar closed promptly at 9pm, with at least 50 people in the place, couldn't figure that out.
Pool bar closes at 5pm with a large crowd at pool

We are repeat customers at this hotel. We love the location as it is close to everything. The only drawback here (if i had to name one) is that it is an older property and the bathrooms are a bit small. None of which would keep us from returning. If you travel to Key West to stay in your room, you may want to find somewhere else to travl to. Great hotel and the staff could not be more friendly!

Right in the middle of the action on Duval street. The staff was very friendly and we had a great balcony room overlooking Duval. Watching the sun set from the rooftop bar is a must.

You have to take into account that this hotel was built in 1926. We stayed in a King Room. The room was small but very clean and well appointed. The bathroom was small, but had a large walk-in tiled shower. Overall the stay was great! The staff was top notch that I had dealings with.
The location is perfect for being in the middle of everything in Key West. We walked most of our stay wherever we needed to go.
The only negative that I have was a dirty, half eaten dish of food that sat in the hallway for a day and a half. I know house keeping would have had to maneuver their cleaning cart around it to pass in the hallway.

Choose location for the ease of parking related to what we were doing. Room located on 3rd floor and was noted as having a horrible smell of must wet or mildew, housekeeper lent us the air fresh spray but it didn't really cut the underlying issues contained in the walls of this historic hotel. Smell made sleeping difficult for my wife and kids as they all have sensitive allergies to mildew and musty smell room gave off, thank god it was for one night or we would have asked for another room.
The biggest problem I had with stay that is really concerning to me being in the hospitality industry, my daughter left her stuffed animal that she has had for years and has really grown attached to, we realized on the way to key largo she left it when she coudlnt take a nap in the car we immediately called hotel and provided all the required information and was told someone would call us back, 24 hours went be and we never got call so we called again provided to another un attentive desk agent the same information from 24 hours previous and told someone would call us. 6 hours went by and still never heard from anyone so we called for a third time and demanded we speak to the housekeeping manager and was transferred to a VM that was full. Third day we awoke to no return calls and again tried calling hotel and asked the same information for the third time even after explaining the situation and it being the third day and forth attempt to even get someone to return a call no up to IHG standards. Asked to speak to General Manager and was told no available I asked for VM and again sent to VM that was full with what I can only assume was other complaints. On the 4th day I tried one more time to contact hotel and when told GM housekeeping manager were not available I asked for 1800 rewards number to express concerns, this is day 7 and we still have not heard from anyone from the hotel and have had to deal with explaining to a 5 year old that we were unable to get the animal back when she knows it was left in the bed she slept with him in. Don't know how else I could have tried to get a response weather found or not its bad business to leave open threads but I guess that's how business is handled in the US just like traveling to the islands abroad you live with what you get.

Upon arriving at the Key West La Concha, we were overjoyed with the location, the courteous staff, the luxurious room, the amenities, the roof top bar, and the restaurant. Everything seemed perfect for our stay.
Then came the middle of the night/morning...............first the refrigerator in the room made a whistling noise for about 10 seconds every minute that continually woke us up. Next, the plumbing from the room upstairs was so loud that it sounded as if all the water was rushing into our room every time the toilet flushed (which was many), and lastly the planes that sounded as if they were flying into our room just added to the lack of sleep (obviously the plane noise cannot be avoided.)
All that being said, we still had a good attitude and enjoyed our stay in Key West (although a little tired from lack of sleep).
Finally, the kicker, and what pushed us over the edge; upon checkout, we gave the valet our ticket to bring us our car. Much to our horror, our convertible BMW was unrecognizable when it was brought to us. It had sat under a tree all night (through the rain) and was COVERED in leaves, sticks, dirt, etc. I was so dumbfounded that I didn't know what to say. The valet said he had a hose and could take it and rinse it off, but we were on a schedule and declined..................
Will not likely return.

We decided to take a day trip to somewhere, and ended up 6 hours away in Key West, the overnight stay at Crown Plaza was great, we had a room with balcony to watch all the happenings on Duval St. And the roof top sunset was the best. We returned home to notice we left our hanging clothes in the closet. When I called the next morning to ask if they had found them, the housekeeping dept. said yes and they would ship them to us that day. They arrived yesterday and I am forever grateful. Thanks for making our first visit to the Keys a memorable one. We will be back.

For a 4 star hotel the service was unacceptable. On our final night we had a situation where our ceiling was leaking. We called the front desk NUMEROUS times to only be ignored until the 4th time calling. It's understandable that it was a holiday weekend, however, not answering the phone or being transferred to anyone is unacceptable.
When we finally reached the front desk we were told someone would be up to our room right away. After 30 minutes of waiting, we decided to follow up on the situation, to find out no one had been notified of our situation. It was only until a part of our ceiling fell off to have someone sent up. Not only was the service slow, but the employees were rude and unwilling to help ease the situation.
A 4 star hotel in a prime location we expected to receive top quality service and accommodations. Being as though this was not our first visit to Key West a less rated hotel had better service.
We will not be staying at a Crowne Plaza again due to our dreadful experience.

The staff was wonderful upon check-in. The room was very comfortable.
I only complaint that would prevent me from giving this 5 stars was that when I was getting ready to leave the room for check-out, I called the front desk for the valet to bring my car. After I went downstairs and checked out, I waited and waited. I then asked the valet about my car and they had never been told.
I would still recommend this hotel.

We stayed at this property for three nights in June. It is an absolutely great location on Duvall Street. The cozy rooms were nicely renovated, but small. But given the property's age and history, it is to be expected. The staff was real friendly too. The only negative I can say about this property was the pool area. It was in need of some minor renovations. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Had a great time. Thank you.

We visit Key West every year. This is the first time we stayed at the La Concha. It's located right on Duval St. and close to everything, and the price was very reasonable. The staff went out of their way to be helpful, friendly, and courteous. I consider this place to be the best value on the island. The only negative things I could say is that the pool area was a little run down and not clean. And the single elevator was slow, so don't be in a hurry. You have to check out he view from the Roof Top bar, Spectacular!

This location is perfect for walking to all the sites in Key West! The bathroom in the room was exceptionally small and the shower leaked on the floor. Valet parking is the only parking available and except if there is no one available to get your car then you have to get your own car but you still pay 20.00 dollars. The staff at the hotel were wonderful, great customer service.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Darmjr “Great location but”
Location is great but it comes with some drawbacks. We are in a balcony room and it is very very small. Anyone older than a seven-year-old child would have to be a contortionist to get in the shower. When we checked in apparently the city had turned off the water, it would've been nice if they had told us this in advance as I needed to use the shower after traveling all day to get here. And speaking of the shower it leaks so badly when you step out you step into a puddle of water. It's been hot here the past couple of days and I've had the AC unit turned onto 60 and haven't been able to get the room cool. When I returned after walking around Key West, I get back to my room and my key does not work because they only set it for one day not the whole stay. So my wife and I go to the front desk with all the stuff we were carrying to get it reset and it gets reset with not even an apology. Some other things that aren't really a big deal but do affect the comfort of your stay are there is no trashcan in the bathroom, the Internet was down for approximately 24 hours, the fridge temperature button is broken, and the TV has a huge scratch on the screen. Now these things aren't huge but they do affect the comfort of your stay. I stay in Holiday Inn's all over this country and am a platinum member and I used a lot of points to stay at this hotel and I'm not sure if I would do it again.

We stayed here for one night. As we walked in, there were two dispensers of citrus water, was amazing. Tasted very fresh! The sunset wasn't that great that night because of the overcast weather but wished I would have seen the amazing view. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable, I would not recommend the pillows though, they were a bit uncomfortable. When we got back in at night, they had a dispenser with fresh alcohol based juice at the front desk AMAZING! I LOVED it! All staff were very nice and patient! Perfectly located too!

This was our first trip to Key West and asked friends for their recommendation. One recommended Crowne Plaza La Concha. We did not know what to expect. The property was very clean and atmosphere was great. The staff was very helpful and courteous . They advised us on where to go, gave directions, and set up tours for us. We had a ball. Plan to return with another couple this spring. A great place.

In spite of an awkward and confusing check in, Sunset lounge that wasn't open the hours advertised, being locked out of our room for two hours because of a malfunctioining door lock,18% MANDATORY gratuity at the restaraunt/bar, inaccurate bill and excess charges to my credit card, which still has not been corrected it was a good stay.
This was all made so much better by one 5 star employee. In all of my literally hundreds of stays at IC Hotels all over the world I have never met an employee that stands out like Nathan. The most knowledgable, efficient and professional employee I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with at any Hotel, ever.

La Concha is an absolutely beautiful hotel in an awesome place! You can walk to everything on Duval St. We stayed for one night in a very nice room. The shower door area does leak and gets the floor all wet but it's a very nice room overall. The only parking there is valet for $20.00 which is not listed on the site. The valets were a bit rude and I prefer to park my own car. I wish that was an option there. But everyone else there was wonderful! I would definitely stay at La Concha again!!

From the day we made our reservations, we should have known this was going to be a disaster.
Reservation clerk started out nice on the phone, when I had questions he answered them, but I would repeat the answer to make sure I understood them. When I asked about the cancellation policy he gave me my answer but then told me something different later. When I questioned him, he became very rude and then proceeded to tell me that our conversation was going nowhere. We asked for an oceanview room he said he could do that, but didn't tell me that he was not familiar with the property because there is no oceanview only a view of Duval St. The room was so small it was ridiculous. Couldn't open the dresser drawers all the way because the bed was in front of it. Couldn't use the refrigerator because it was broke and couldn't close the bathroom door unless you were entirely in the bathroom first because it was so small. We were given drink tickets only to find out after the drinks were made that the tickets were not good for those types of drinks, so got stuck with a $22.00 bill. Reading your reviews, it looks like you have to be a Priority Club Member to get the decent rooms. This hotel is very dissappointing and will NEVER recommend it to anyone.

My wife and I stayed four days, June 5 through June 9th, at the Crown Plaza, Key West – La Concha hotel. To say we were disappointed in our accommodations would be a vast understatement. Let me itemize them for you :
Upon arrival, we were greeted with someone’s leftover food in the refrigerator and garbage out on our balcony. The staff did clean things up right away. Upon further inspection, we found someone’s jewelry on the floor and turned that in to the desk.
When I noticed the refrigerator wasn’t working, I was told it’s not a refrigerator it’s just a cooler. I insisted on a working refrigerator. Shortly, a maintenance man replaced the “cooler” with a working refrigerator.
Our room was very small and to make matters worse, large furniture was crammed into it making navigation around the bed an issue. There was no desk to place my computer on and there was only one small unusable chair. We brought the furniture in from the balcony in order to sit and watch TV.
After all this, we decided to make a drink and relax. We were in room 253; the ONLY ice machines are located adjacent to room 411. There I found 4 ice machines in one room. Would have been more convenient for guests if these machines were closer to the room levels.
While I was away getting ice, my wife got stuck out on the balcony while the rain was just starting.. The door handle was stuck and I managed to open it from the inside. Once inside, we could not open the door again and therefore couldn’t use the balcony for the rest of the day. Maintenance did come and remove the rust on the lock bolt and freed it up with WD 40.
Next day the power went out while rain was pouring. Emergency lights went on but nothing else would work. Why a hotel of this stature doesn’t have a full back up generator is unbelievable. At this point we were ready to leave for another hotel or inn.
After the storm, apparently water came through the building and soaked our carpets and luggage that was sitting on the floor.
The grand finale came on our last day when the toilet would not flush so we had to use the bathrooms on the ground floor.
When checking out, I explained all of these things to the staff at the desk. The best he could do was to write off the valet parking fee ( $ 80.00). In all my travels, and it has been many years and places, I have never paid this much money for such terrible accommodations and inconveniences.
Bottom line is that I would like to hear from a responsible company manager and determine a fairer compensation.

Hats off to Peter.
