Here are the things I liked about this hotel:
1. It's very conveniently located.
2. There was a good manager working the day we checked in that helped us finally.
3. Valet guys are quick

If it wasn't for these redeeming qualities of this hotel, I don't think I would have chosen to stay there, even if it was with points. This is the reason I'm giving 2 stars so the management at this hotel and IHG can improve to better the experience for other Club Members.

When we showed up around 4pm, our room was not ready. Instead of apologizing and acknowledging my IHG Platinum Ambassador status, the staff at the front desk said they didn't know what the Ambassador level was. Now the only reason I bring up the IHG status is that the IHG group often boasts its recognition of its members. When I was signing up for this program to finally achieving Ambassador status, all the advertisement was assuring me that it was worth it. For this, I choose to always stay with IHG hotels for work and pleasure.

In my previous stays with other IHG hotels, my room is always ready (first and foremost), then I'm offered a gift, and a room upgrade if it's available. What upset me was that it was 4pm in the afternoon, room is not free. There was no mention to me of my status, no gift, and no upgrade (this one is understandable due to lack of rooms). To top it off, the staff just wasn't welcoming. I really wanted to just leave at that moment and not spend a dime at this hotel.

Thankfully, the manager working at the time was pulled to speak with us (after we waited a good 15-20 minutes, it's now past 4:30 and we are still standing in the lobby). She did apologize for the wait time and gave us free breakfast.

Anyway, I usually have no problem with the other IHG hotels. We stayed at a couple other ones during this same trip, and the experience with them were great. But since I'm being asked to review this hotel, I would like to be honest, because if this was someone's first interaction with the IHG hotel chains, and also Crowne Plaza, it wouldn't be so good. So I really hope that someone takes the time to read this, and at the very least, make sure that the rooms are ready by 4pm, and staff is well-versed on policies of the hotel they work at.

After posting my own review, I saw a few other Platinum status guests were treated with the same lackluster level. Management, please spend the time to acknowledge these reviews. Otherwise, more poor reviews will be posted, not just on IHG, but also in other travel websites.
