Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Midweek Ski Special
The midweek special was an unbelievable deal. I don't think you will find a ski package at such a nice resort for the price they offer. Pleasant stay and a beautiful town.

Our initial room was on ground floor. First experience was seeing toilet seat was up and someone had used our bathroom prior to us. There was urine on the toilet and floor.
The manager on duty was Scott. He was extremely nice and moved us to the 3rd floor. I appreciate his kindness and without him I probably would have left the hotel immediatley. He did give us complimentary breakfast. I have to say that our room on the 3rd floor was cold and the carpet was damp near the sliding doors. I was pretty disappointed in the comfortness and cleanliness of our room.
Scott the manager was the sole reason we stayed. Furthermore, he was so very nice to us that I really did not want to complain again after he took the time out to move us to the third floor.
I give scott a 5++ and the staff was very kind as well,! Unfortunately, the rest was a 1. As of today points were not placed on my rewards card. I really dont feel as though I will be using them anyway.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by alanz Nice location but average stay
Room - the heater was very noisy to the point of waking me up every night.
Pool - nice pool and hottub
Restaurant - horrendous service in restaurant. At what point to you have to ask for a discount or a complimentary dessert?
1st night - sat for nearly 15 minutes in a near empty restaurant before server came. Appetizers and entrees all came slow and together - way too much food on the table and meas getting cold.
2nd night - In-room dining took one of the meals we ordered in the restaurant, so my son had to wait til the meal was prepped again - everyone else was finished by the time his dinner came. The chicken wings ordered "mild" were so hot for my daughter, I couldn't eat them. When re-ordered, they were terrible.
There were dried out lemon seeds in my apparently clean glass.
Shouldn't these situations have been addressed on the spot instead of waiting for me to complain about it online???

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Terrible service in the restaurant
Each year we stay we eat in the Hotel for dinner. The pasta bar is okay but the ala carte menu is limited and the service is the worst i have experienced. The wait staff are very nice however the kitchen is hopeless. I have been staying at the Crown Plaza for eight years and this was the worst experience. I think the management has become very complacent, comfortable with their location, the great room and their reputation.
I cant explain why it takes an hour to make a grilled cheese sandwich nor a chicken salad. Usually we expect to wait 40 minutes or so for our food, which would be unaceppatble anywhere else but is what we have become accustomed to. However this year they even exceeded their poor standards.
We only ever eat at the restaurant the first night of our stay and we always regret it.
I dont understand how this is tolerated from the management again complacency seems to have crept into their overall management approach.
The staff are all very nice, recognize us when we arrive, but it certainly needs some focus.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by CAndrews Staff is always the best
First i want to say the the staff is alway courteous and prompt in all their service and the entire property is always clean.
We came for our annual Christmas week stay, usually we stay in one large family suite. This year we stayed in one family suite and one regular room. I was a little disappointed with the value this year, we spend a great deal of money and our priority club rewards were coffee coupons and two 5 dollar coupons for a high end restaurant when there is six of us. Usually we get a breakfast coupon for everyone. Second issue was in our family suite that sleeps 4 the bathroom had no fan so in the morning after everyone took a shower the entire unit was full of steam and damp. The refrigerator in our larger unit was considerably smaller than the one in the single unit.
Our sliding door handle broke off and it took a while to fix, the maintenance person was very nice and courteous but I was trying to nap. Snow came through the slider every night as well
I always enjoy the property, this year I feel a little taken advantage of and defiantly feel I didn't get my money's worth

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by KJWMagnolia Overpriced during the holidays
We stayed at this property from Christmas day thru New Year's Day. Our 2nd thru 7th night was an additional $100 per night than the price for the first night. The cost seemed overly excessive. The property was really very nice - and the staff was extremely nice and helpful. It was beautifully decorated for the holiday's and really added to the ambiance of the season. The only complaint about the property itself was the beds were extremely hard. We felt it would have been just as comfortable had we slept on the floor.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Lori07005 Avoid the restaurant
Not sure what the problem is with their kitchen but after requesting an expedited order for our frantic 3 year old, it too a full hour for them to produce a simple grilled cheese sandwich. The non expedited entrees took an hour and a half. Another night we had the pasta bar to lessen the pain but then eveyone was done eating by the time the drink order arrived. We had similar issues the prior year, so it was not a one off situation.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Vermontskater Great customer service
We have stayed at this Crowne Plaza several times and have always had a good experience. We arrived prior to check-in time but our room was not ready. We used the time to walk around Lake Placid. When we returned to the hotel slightly before check-in time our room was still not ready. We prepared to camp out in some comfortable chairs. After a few short minutes, the desk clerk found us to tell us our room was ready! My daughter has celiac disease and the restuarant (namely, the pasta bar chef) went above and beyond to ensure she had a delicious, gluten-free dinner. The hostess was able to provide us with an allergen list for the buffet breakfast the next morning and once again, my daughter was able to enjoy a delicious gluten-free meal. The customer service throughout the hotel was superb.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Travelers2012 Nice property
Staff very accommodating and friendly; room clean and comfortable, though drafty due to the glass doors that allow you to overlook the lake, caused room to be cold, especially at night.
Hotel needs to be more aware of plowing the property better. We arrived during the snow right after Christmas, had to get to the hotel via alternate route, i.e. back streets (and numerous times) as the main entrance was not plowed properly/thoroughly. The parking lot was a mess re: snow and even a day or 2 after the snow, still not clear. Had to rely on the shuttle to get to and from Whiteface.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by funinthesnow Overall a good time
We enjjoyed our stay specially because we had 18 inches of fresh snow. They hotel staff was accomdating in finding us a room for the extra nigth we decided to stay. The negative is that the rooms were not very clean and room service was extremely slow even after we called a couple of times to see why it was taken so long and they did not offer anything to us after we waited hour and 15 for our food.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by jane7 An all-around outstanding experience.
The staff was exceptionally courteous. The great room is a unique feature that adds to the overall atmosphere . The family suite was perfect for our needs as we were traveling with 2 adults and 3 children. The resorts location in the town of Lake Placid makes it easy to shop and enjoy the restaurants nearby. Our family had a wonderful time and highly recommend the Crowne Plaza to all.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by familytrip Housekeeping was very poor for the price
The staff were very nice but the housekeeping was very poor. I have been at much cheaper hotels and had much better cleaning. We don't look for a lot, but expect the room to be vacuumed each day, trash to be removed, basic cleaning in the bathroom and fresh glasses each day. This is not what we found at this resort. Too bad, the front desk said they would let housekeeping know but nothing improved even after that. They did nothing to compensate for this inconvenience.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Marco1 Excellent experience
Upon arrival for our stay at the Lake Placid Crowne Plaza we were told that our room had been upgraded at no additional charge. We had a room with a fireplace, jacuzzi tub and other amenities as well.
The hotel did an excellent job of making sure we had a great experience and we certainly will choose the Crowne Plaza on our next trip to Lake Placid.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ezzie Great night shift
The gentleman on the night shift was there when I checked in at 2:30 a.m. and even met me at the entrance to the Adirondack wing to make sure I didn't need anything else. Room service was fast and the food was very good and reasonable priced. My room was beautiful and and a wonderful view of the lake and the town. When I checked out at 5:30 a.m., the same gentleman who checked me in was working. He went to the kitchen and got me a cup of his private coffee for my morning trip. I couldn't have asked for a better stay.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by journeyman1959 fantastic getaway
Have been here before, the place is fantastic, located in the heart of Lake Placid. The Great room, overlooking mirror lake is what draws us back each time. We stayed in the Adirondack wing, which is gorgeous and very contemporary. Unfortunately its also the pet friendly wing. There were numerous dogs staying there that weekend. Saturday evening after dinner we spent an attempted romantic evening in our jacuzzi listing to a barking dog whose owners went out for the night and left fido home.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Moglet73 Fantastic hotel, great staff, wonderful location, amazing views
We stayed at the Crowne Plaza this October and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. We were upgraded to a room in the Adirondack Wing and had a great room in there with a balcony overlooking the hills. We didn't have dinner at the hotel but the breakfasts were lovely with plenty of freshly cooked food.
If I had to make one small complaint it would be that you can't seem to get through to the pool from the loos and there didn't seem to be any changing rooms, nothing you can't make do with though and a good pool and jacuzzi.
Will definitely be staying there again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dinsdale excellent staff, VERY helpful
Phil will do whatever it takes to see that you are happy. Rooms are very comfortable, great food in the dining room however, IF you desire to have a drink the prices in the bar are VERY high, poor selection of wines, several people in our conference complained about the bar and went into town instead. Fifteen dollars for a Margarita? Never paid that much before and did not have another drink in the bar. We would rather have stayed in the hotel for the evening but did not.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by LAG35 Good Basic Offering
Decided to visit Lake Placid to do some fall hiking and struggled to find a room at this peak time. The Crowne Plaza provided reasonable basic accommodations in a central location. While the rate charged was high due to the peak period, it was not unreasonable. The room was modest but clean. The hotel would however benefit from renovation. Bathrooms contain plastic shower enclosures that are dated and inexpensive in feel. Hallways are also dated. Rooms could be brighter and more contemporary. Not a bad choice however you won't leave feeling you had stayed at a vacation property.

The best choice I ever made was staying at the Crowne Plaza Lake Placid. How can you beat right on the main street, right next to the Olympic Museum and Arena, right overlooking Mirror Lake! The front desk asked if I wanted an upgrade on check in and the view from the balcony room was amazing! I plan to go back and try to request that very room once again. Dinner was offered in a number of places throughout the hotel, we chose the Great Room and were not disappointed with the view again, the food and the pleasant wait staff. There is nothing better than one pleasant experience after another when you are on vacation and that is exactly how it happened at this Crowne Plaza. Thank you for the experience.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wrench Great mid-week Fall getaway
Only two nights, at tail end of color season. Room facing Mirror Lake. Hotel was quiet those couple of days, which was great. Service in main lobby dining room and at breakfast was great. Meals were good, prices quite reasonable.
Ambiance of the huge lobby area as a place to sit, read and enjoy a coffee in the morning sun, looking out on the hills and Mirror Lake was awesome.
Close to downtown shopping and Olympic center and museum.

Room 103 first floor with patio, walk in shower, was spacious and convenient to the hotel amenities and had a wonderful view of the lake and colorful mountains during out Columbus Day weekend stay. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet with Douwe Eberts coffee, great dinner at the Verandah next door with the best ever blueberry cream pie and dinner at the Boat House with another fantastic lake view, great food and service. Would highly recommend a stay here!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by LakePlacid10thAnniversary Nice view....poor bed
Celebrated our 10th anniversary and paid a premium for a view of the fall colors. View was great but for the price the bed was stiff and both my wife and I woke up both mornings with a very stiff back. For the price the beds could have been better. Also the keycard lock on the door required a trick to use once we found it out we could stop carrying both keys since we could only get one to work. Told no you need to lift the handle first to reset it.
