Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JoanneandAndy Cant get enough of this place! Mainly the staff!
Even though I purchased a deal and not usual room rates, as a member of the loyalty scheme we were still upgraded to an execuive room on the 6th floor, recieved a free drink at the bar and This Works sleep product. I was very impressed, thought at deal prices we may have had deal treatment - no such thing at this hotel!
This is the second time we stayed here, the receptionist was the same, he is a young man who is so enthusiastic, very friendly (but not in your face). The girl behind the bar, from Liverpool, was also happy in her job - or certainly made the customers feel like she is - oh yes we also got free peanuts - the coated ones - to go with our free drink.
The room was great with an excessively large desk, great if you are staying for business.
The hotel is clean and fresh and looks like recently refurbished or just still new looking, it by no means is dated.
I cant fault the hotel - not had beakfast but we are going back for a couple of days in April so may try it then.
Last time - we have a Living Social voucher for Starbucks, which is just over the road - so that was nice and handy too.
It isnt right in the centre - just a 10 minute walk - only cost £4 inc tip for taxi (it was cold and wet! but can be a nice walk and also very close to the canal walks), very close to the station.
We live in Leeds! However, when there is a deal or if we are doing something special - like the theatre or a gig - it is really nice to stay here and last time it was cheaper than getting a taxi home!!
Last time was in December and it is very close to the German Markets so we had a wonderful time. If you want to go to the German markets in December stay here!! Try The Victoria at the back of the Town Hall for a drink, very cosy and christmassy!
There is a really nice restaurant and it is included on the Taste card so may be worth checking out, we didnt recieve the card in time - shame!
At the bar we had two lagers and with a 10% loyalty discount cost about £7-8 and we also had the free drink and peanuts! Friendly staff too.
Looking forward to returning in April :)

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Liakada Great Hotel - Expensive Car Parking
The stay was great. Great service, great food from the bar, great room.
Totally disappointed with the £9 per night car parking charge. I wouldn't mind but the sign at the car park states owners park at their own risk.
The Hotel should revise this charge, especially for weekend stays!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by PriorityClubPro Another great stay, but no upgrade.
Another great stay at this hotel, but sadly no room upgrade. However free water was put in my room each day.
Still the best IHG brand hotel in the area, and my opinion, best hotel in the area.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by PriorityClubPro Great hotel & finally an upgrade!!
Having stayed here before I know the hotel well. The gym is great, location to the town is perfect and the staff always pleasant to deal with.
This time I was given a room upgrade (first time in 4 visits). The room was great and the hotel are currently doing a "Great British" Bar menu which has a great selection for dinner.

I love this hotel. it's the third time me and my friends have stayed here. the staff are friendly, efficient, go the extra mile and supurb. The room is comfortable and quiet. well lit and clean. the breakfast is very good with plenty of choice and fresh food. we didn't have the evening meal this time but the head waitor was very helpful explaining the menu and options we had. the spa and pool are excellent. We were a bit anxious about the lack of life guard because there were children in the pool area this time and under 16's going into the steam room and sauna. when we mentioned to the children themselves it was not a good idea we were of course ignored.
Leeds is a great place to visit with loads of shops and friendly local people.
we will defnately be going again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by AH29 Great Hotel!
Loved this hotel - it has fantastic entrance with sweeping staircase; room was lovely (was ugraded so even better!); ALL staff were so friendly and very helpful. Little touches made our break very special. Our stay was during the snowy period, on a Sunday night and in January, so not many other guests so difficult to comment on atmosphere and ambience really but have given it four stars anyway. Can't comment on the restaurant and food as we did not eat at the hotel. Had a drink in the bar and this was very good. 2nd time we hve stayed at the Crowne Plaza and will definitely come back again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MickyBoy45 Great Hotel where Service Culture is evident in abundance!!
Having previously stayed in this hotel for business purposes and been impressed, I decided to book this hotel for a personal visit to Leeds with my daughters and friends.
Having been impressed with my previous bookings and stays, I was totally impressed during this stay by the further improvements across the hotel, demonstrating a clear culture of embedded responsibilities within each and every staff members roles and actvities. This 'service culture' that I look for from all service industry I use, in particular hotels, especially staff and any subsequent interactions between staff and customer are a clear differenctiator for me when choosing hotels and how to spend my money. I can honestly state that the experience had improved from excellent to Outstanding!
Well done to all who worked that weekend of my booking, and for making me, my family and friends so welcome during out stay, I will definately be using you hotel and recommending you to many friends and colleagues too! And a BIG well done to the management and strategies of this chain of hotels for obviously investing in improving their already excellent attitude, approach and delivery to 'customer service!'

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Rogerok2 A great stay !
The hotel is well positioned being only a five minute walk from the train station and ten minutes to the main shopping and restaurant areas in Leeds.
The kids particularly enjoyed the swimming pool.
The breakfast was superb as was the service by the staff. We opted for the all inclusive breakfast and evening dinner option which was good value.
Overall a comfortable and enjoyable stay!

Breakfast and the service were excellent all the staff were efficient and very friendly nothing was too much trouble.
A little disappointed as we had and executive room but only a double bed which at other hotels in the chain we would have had at least a king size but had other perks instead Would definately stay there again.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Overthehillsandfaraway1 Zambezi falls and the rude manager
Stayed at crowne plaza leeds on 30th December 2012 on making original booking due to it be xmas time as enviabley functions where going to be going on at the hotel we requested a quiet room.it also seemed a reassurance that crowne plaza have they,re snore patrol monitoring noise ensuring they,re guests have a quiet and 1st class sleep. If only this was true at leeds.whilst in our room on the 3rd floor we could hear every bit of the conversation from the couple above us clearly and they where just talking normally.an amazing feat seeing as I am registered deaf and did not have my hearing aids in. Also every time they went to the toilet the noise of them uranating was like the Zambezi falls. We first tried to phone reception about this problem and was treated to twenty minutes of constant ringing as no one answered the phone. I then had to walk to reception which annoyed me having to do this in an executive class hotel.eventually I requested to see a manager who when he appeared was a man in his early fortys I explained to him the problem and all he kept repeating was well what do you want me to do about it. I told him as a guest it was my job to get a nights sleep where as he as a manager was responsible for sorting out problems .he then rudely told me that supposing I took the hotel down brick by brick and rebuilt it would that please you.i then warned him about the rudeness of his manner and he mellowed a little saying there was nothing he could do and all he could offer was vouchers for a free breakfast.i told him whilst I appreciated this gesture it still did not address the problem I originally complained about and that was all I wanted sorted .unfortunately it never was and on the end of our stay 1st jan 2013 we breathed a sigh of relief knowing we would never ever return to this awfull hotel again.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by RS50 Quiet comfortable room
Enjoyable, relaxing 2 night stay. Stayed in an executive room - clean, quiet, comfortable bed. (Surprised smaller than Premier Inn's beds though). Used leizure facilities - very good, not busy.
Car parking £18 extra - a little disappointed that the hotel needs to make more money this way.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by linda8 Breakfast and Dinner Tariff
We were disappointed with dinner package as the resataurant was not open for the first 4 nights of our stay. As this included Christmas day it meant that we were not able to get a Christmas dinner and the only option on offer was a limited bar menu. I had phoned the hotel a couple of weeks prior to our stay, to check that we would be able to get a meal, and was told that it wouldn't be a problem. This did spoil the beginning of our stay. In future, I recommend that if the restaurant is not to be opened then the meal package should not be on offer,

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by swisstony Sub-par for Crowne Plaza
The rate may have been competitive, but the standard was well below what I'm used to at a Crowne Plaza.
The furniture in the 'executive' bedroom we had was looking very worn. In-room amenities were also thin on the ground - no clock, no pen, no notepad etc. Bathroom had however been newly refitted.
Minibar was probably the most expensive I've ever seen (and I've been lucky enough to stay in some very high end hotels).
The staff we dealt with were very friendly and the hotel was in a reasonable location.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by carlosmum Lovely Christmas Stay
My partner, my son and myself stayed at the Crowne Plaza for 3 days over the Christmas period.
What a lovely experience, to be repeated this year !!!!
All but one of the staff are an absolute credit to the hotel. Jodie and Liam, the restaurant staff on Christmas day were hard working and charming. The only staff member we were not impressed with was the Boxing day breakfast waitress who could not be bothered to greet us and just grunted " Room number" and "Do ya want a hot drink" obviously not pleased to be working that morning.
The rooms were very comfortable and spotless, with toiletries replenished each morning. We tried the bar food each evening and it was all tasty with generous portions. Mat and the front desk staff were all very polite cheeful and wecoming.
Well done the Crowne Plaza

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by TravellerJo Good hotel close to city centre
This hotel met my needs for a get together with friends in Leeds. It's a 10 minute walk from the train station/ city centre.
Breakfast wasn't great - booked it evening before for discounted rate (glad didn't pay in full).
Parking expensive - I personally resent paying for hotel parking!
I would recommend the hotel & the staff were very friendly.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Lawgiver Don't Eat Here
The food in the restaurant was the worst I have ever had in any Crowne Plaza and I have stayed in many. The Restaurant has little or no ambiance but that does not excuse the food. I had leek and potato soup which tasted of chicken stock and little else. The rest was poor too. Even breakfast was poor. Dried up bacon for example. As a Platinum Priority Club member I was shocked at the poor quality of food.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sue44 Great large Room and service
I always stay at the Crowne Plaza Leeds whilst visit our Leeds Office. The staff are all friendly and polite and attentive to my requirements. The rooms themselves are some of the largest for the room rates compared with many hotels I have stayed in. The food is also good no complaints at all. Would recommend this Hotel to everyone and indeed have done so. Great Job !!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by TedT Great Staff, good location and fine place to stay
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay - only the second time we've been there, but the receptionist (Andrew) remembered us and went out of his way to make our stay a great one. Similarly the bar staff member (I'm sorry I didn't get his name) was great.
We stayed in an executive room, which was actually a suite - well appointed and very comfortable bed.
Check in and check out was speedy and efficient.
Location is ideal from motorway and quite close to the city centre.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 You will not get a better bed anywhere else
I live in hotels and have stayed in this particular hotel at least 100 times. Why do I keep coming back when I have the choice of any hotel in Leeds and believe me I have tried them all?
Two things, firstly the fantastic staff. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them and when there is a problem it is sorted immediately. It feels like home each time I visit.
Secondly the comfortable beds, I always get a great night's sleep no matter what is going on outside the hotel.
The other services offered are the same as all of the other "chain" hotels in Leeds with one difference, at the Crowne Plaza they are offered with a smile and a bit of friendly banter. Now that is what makes the difference between a good hotel a great place to stay!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by discerning48 Comfortable room and great service
We found all the reception staff very welcoming and efficient ; they went the extra mile to make our stay very enjoyable and stressfree. Our room was very comfortable save that we were surprised to find that we didn't have a fridge/minibar although there was a space for one nor did we have a safe which is usually a standard item in an hotel room nowadays.
The breakfasts were about the best we've had in England. Service was excellent, the hot plate was the best ever for an hotel of this standard and all the produce was first class especially the cheeses, cold meat and selection of fruits. The only item missing was muesli but there were lots of other cereals.
The sleeping aids were most effective and a first for us. Well done.
