Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Room was sub-standard I have always wanted to stay at the Cambell House which is now a Crowne Plaza hotel. Upon checking in late the first evening, our room was horrible and we were too tired to do anything about it. The Floor was sopping wet by the bed, there was red whatever on the bed spread. The room smelled so strong of bleach you could not sleep. We hit the staff hard the next day and they tried to fix the room and even removed the charge for the first nite but the floor was still wet and overall the entire complex is looking run down. It was a disappointment to us on a much awaited vacation to the Bluegrass of KY. We did not change rooms as they did not have another of the same class we purchased. They should have upgraded us and moved us. We paid for a higher than normal room in the first place. I guess you cant go back. April 23, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Shocked at the Customer Service I have stayed here 4 or 5 times and it was my go to hotel in Lexington. Well, I just made my reservations for my next trip to Lexington and went with a competitor even though I am a platinum rewards member and love to rack up the points. Day 1: I am not sure if rewards members get anything like we used to here, but I never received anything and there was no mention of me being platinum. Later that evening, I went to get ice from the icemaker and it was out of order. Called the front desk to locate another from my room and it rang for 10 minutes. Decided to call from my cell and after another 5-7 minutes, I finally got someone on the line that told me I had to basically walk halfway around the hotel to get ice. Day 2: Cleaning lady knocked on my door at 9:30 AM wanting to clean. I was just about to leave so I said, I was still here and left less than 5 minutes later. I went to Keeneland all day and when I returned to the room at 6:30 PM it was never touched by the cleaning service. I tried to call the front office again, it rang for 5 minutes, so I decided that I had given up. I am not sure what is going on here, but I was baffled by how terrible the service was. April 17, 2013

I couldn't turn on the shower thing and they came up and help us... I am use to the old way but I learned something while I was there... You all are very awesome and will be coming back.. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Weird Bathroom weirdest EVER ... it was a small room so i understand there wasn't a whole bunch of available space to work with, but i really think you could've done better. the toilet was next to the sink... okay no problem. the roll of toilet tissue was under the sink attached to the back wall... problem! i felt like i was playing a round of twister to find the roll. :( also, the shower was difficult to figure out. i've never had to pull the bottom of the faucet to get a shower to turn on. you should consider leaving instructions in the bathroom so residents won't have to call the front desk to explain how it works. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by great room the room was great, but I was very dissapointed, as my mother was in st josephs hospital in ctvu, I drove up to ky to be with her and the Crown Plaza was suppose to give me hospital rates, I was told a price, but recieved my bill under the door that morn and it was higher than I was told by 20.00, and then when I looked on my credit card I was charged 49.00 more ontop of the 20.00 that I was over charged. Hope this doesnt happen to someone else March 4, 2013

It does me as a guest no good at all for you to explain WHY the rooms are not arranged in any logical fashion, you need to CHANGE the room numbers so that guests can find their own rooms and then locate any hospitality suites set up by their groups. There may be costs involved but this property is highly profitable and this incredible inconvenience to your guests in inexcusable. March 3, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Why do u overbook???? When I made these reservations 6 months ago I booked a king suite. When I got to the hotel my party and I were told they were overbooked and the suites were gone. I was given a room with 2 queen beds. After bitterly complaining to the manager he gave me an additional room for no charge which was nice. My point is, when on a leisure weekend trip a person should not have to get in long dispute to get the accomodations they were promised 6 months earlier. Were it not for the manager at the property, the weekend would have been ruined for me. The Crowne policy of overbooking is very poor customer service, therefore I will never recommend nor stay at a Crowne property again. You need to stop this practice or you are going to lose alot of customers. March 3, 2013

Although there is some charm associated with this hotel, don't bother hanging the do not disturb sign, the hotel staff will disregard it. both nights I stayed here I was disturbed at 9 AM while my door displayed the do not disturb placard. upon answering the door the staff poorly pretended not to speak English. when I asked for my towels to be changed, they took all of my amenities soaps and shampoos and left me with nothing. the check-in time for this hotel is insanely late, most likely due to being understaffed. the pool area is antiquated, insanely deep, and offers no easily accessible safety equipment or towels. the elevators are also run down, with panels falling off, and long wait times. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad, bad bed! This isn't my first stay at the Campbell House, but it was the worst. The room was in bad condition,the bed was horrible. We heard doors slamming ALL night long, so we couldn't sleep. We did get a discounted rate for hospital visit, not sure if that was the reason for the bad room. There are nice rooms with good beds, I've stayed in them, not this time. The very worst. February 3, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Classy Old Style Hotel This is a big old style hotel with a restaurant, pool, bar, and even a gift shop all indoors. Some of the decor is a little dated but it looked like they were replacing the carpet on my last visit. Many of the rooms are named for famous race horses. The suite I stayed in was actually two rooms instead of just a bigger room with a short wall as a divider. My rooms have alway been clean and the staff friendly. January 3, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Would Stay Again My son and I stayed here recently while on a visit to UK. It's proximity to the college is VERY accommodating. I was disappointed that when I booked my reservation it stated free hot breakfast, but when we checked in were only given a voucher for one breakfast; had to pay for the other. Staff was excellent and the ambiance was great. Yes, an older hotel, but I loved the aesthetic. Was also disappointed there was not fridge when I requested a room with a fridge; was told it'd be extra charge. Unfortunate in today's hospitality world where other chains offer free hot breakfast equivalent to what we were served and also offer free fridge & microwave in room that this hotel is charging. I would stay here again if nothing else for the proximity to the college, but may have to look around a little more to local competitors as well. Non smoking hotel was a plus! Beds were WONDERFULLY comfortable! December 13, 2012

THE BATHROOM, ESPECIALLY THE SHOWERS ARE ALWAYS OUTDATED AND THE SIZE OF THE BATHROOMS LEAVES SOMETHING TO BE DESIRED. AN INROOM MOVIE SELECTION WOULD BE NICE.
