I would like to thank the hotel manager: Mr. Liu for his warm hospitality and excellent attention to the guest's needs. He helped the front desk to check me in on the day of my arrival on 2/7/2013 and took care few things for me during my 3-day stay in this beautiful town. It was my first Chinese New Year back in China since I left Shanghai some 25 years ago. Small things done by the hotel like the lucky money bag & hot checkin soup in the New Year Eve made me feel at home.
Sorry that I didn't get the chance to say goodbye to Mr. Liu when I checked out. I certainly hope that I will be back in the near future.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by TTraveler12 Comfortable and convenient hotel
We recently stay at Crown Plaza for three nights in late December and highly recommend the hotel for staying at LiJiang. The hotel is comfortable and very convenient located at the southern entrance to the old town although the direction may be a bit confusions especially for walking back to the hotel. The breakfast is good but the Thai food is average, we had for one evening. I think it mainly lacks some of the authentic ingredients. Otherwise, this is better than average Crown Plaza and they are going to upgrade to InterContinental, so hurry up before it changes.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by David111 Smelly Rooms and impossible Room Service
The open plan bathrooms are a good idea because it makes the room feel bigger. But without a good exhaust you will essentially be sleeping in your toilet. Complained on arrival but they said it might take a while for the exhaust to work. But it never did. The whole room stank like a toilet.
I asked to change room but reckoned it will be the same in all the other rooms since the technician checked and found nothing wrong with the exhaust.
The other thing I lament is the room service. Called 3 time for ice cubes on 31 Dec 2012, but after 1 hour it still did not arrive. I have never seen room service this bad in any hotel. There wasn't even an explanation. If they were too busy preparing for the new year's eve bash, then at least say so.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JamesQ Great Stay
This is definitely one of the best stays I had. I love the Snow Mountain as a backdrop and full of beautiful landscaping throughout the compound. There is a convenient access into ancient town via the rear door, however the directional signage leading to the hotel (within the town) is lacking. Most guests will tend to spend a lot of time finding their way back to the hotel especially during night time. I would suggest the hotel management to work with the ancient city to improve on this aspect. Will definitely go back again!

We stayed at the Crowne Plaza in September 2012 and from the moment we arrived the staff were fantastic and very friendly. Our room was unbelieveable, so big and roomy, bed very comfortable.
Breakfast, meals and the drink bar were also fantastic. The location of the hotel is the best, and it is very quiet and peaceful.
We would definitely go back to the Crowne Plaza next time we visit Lijiang.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Dajie Beautiful hotel in ancient town
We decided to stay at Crowne Plaza as it is right at the doorsteps of the Lijiang Ancient Town and the experience was just great! We took daily walks to different parts of the old town and enjoyed the sights, sounds, and smells of autumn in Lijiang. The hotel is probably the most beautiful of all Crowne Plaza properties, which are, quite frankly, rather boring and dull in general. Apart from the general lack of proficiency in English of staff (a situation that is less severe in Crowne Plaza compared to elsewhere in Lijiang, I must add), our holiday was really excellent. One glitch was the day tour we took - the guide dropped us off at a garden and mis-informed us that it would only take less than 10 mins to walk back to the hotel. We took an hour to walk through the garden and the old town before reaching the hotel, which was exhausting, after a whole day of sight-seeing and trekking. The agency was a recommendation by the concierge so the lack of consideration for the hotel guests was a little surprising.
