I was not aknowledged as a Priority club memeber yet alone a Platinum memeber. The hotel and staff are all very friendly but there are not enough people working on the bar. Time to get a drink was between 20 & 30 minutes every time. Stayed for three night and a very loud wedding on every night and they spilled out into the main bar as their bar service was also very slow

As expected in room etc. what stood out were the staff. Day or night smiling faces helpful. Nothing ever to much. Bringing my sons to my hometown they were treated so well and for an 11yo to comment how friendly people are in Liverpool was all based on our stay

On my last day thee was no hot water in the room. Had to take a cod shower and boil a kettle to shave. This is completely unacceptable.

I have been staying at the hotel Monday to Friday since October. The restaurant menu has now changed to The Market garden menu and frankly is not good at all. There is so little main course choice now, that the bar/room menu is better. I will be staying with you for the foreseeable future.

We've been staying in this hotel for 9 years, generally on a Friday and/or Saturday night to visit family. Frankly the experience in the public areas of the hotel in the evenings is now appalling all year round due to the various weddings, parties, functions etc. The guests don't stay in their function rooms, they spill out into the public areas and the hotel bar and make it extremely loud and unpleasant for the other guests. The queues at the hotel bar are ridiculous as the party people use that instead of their own bars and the staff do nothing. The noise level, language and sheer volume of people make it impossible to allow the kids into the bar area and make a quiet drink/meal impossible. It ruins what's otherwise our favourite hotel!

As it was a Saturday Night in December the hotel was very busy. We felt the dark haired receptionist did not attend to us with the courtesy which we usually have at this hotel in the past. Previous receptionists who were fair haired have always been polite and really welcoming. It was a birthday night celebration too,so we were disappointed at the lack of enthusiasm at check in.
We often stay here on special occasions, so were disappointed by this night's service.
The room was also cold on entry and took a long time to warm up despite us raising the temperature with the controls.
When we woke up I had a sore throat which I felt was due to the air conditioning.
This has put me off booking again, as whenever I stay at a hotel I always expect a good service, expecially when I have paid a lot of money for a 1 night stay.
The beds are always comforatable though and the room was clean and tidy.

When we arrived (Saturday24th November, about 2.30), our room was being checked by ( I think her name was ) Maureen. She asked was everything alright with the room, and when I asked whether there was an ice machine nearby, she immediately offered to get some. About 5 minutes later she came back, apologised for the delay and explained that the machine was broken, but she had instead gone to the bar and brought us some from there. She refused a tip and wished us a good stay - excellent service!

Having previously worked for Crowne Plaza I was expecting more from this hotel. The bed in the room was not fit for purpose & the air-con/heater was noisy resulting in 2 poor nights sleep. Overall I think the hotel could do with a make-over as it is looking quite shabby.
Food - only had breakfast which was plentiful as it was buffet style, but unfortunately very greasy.
Most of the staff during the stay were very helpful.

This hotel is amazing. Art Deco buildings, smart, comfortable, clean rooms and access to fantastic facilities such as the gym next door. Our only complaint was that we happened to be there whilst there was an 18th birthday party going on in a suite downstairs. Everything was cool until the whole party spilt into the bar and the foyer and a bunch of drunken kids kicked off with the security. Even after police were called and the majority of the trouble had blown over our group still got confronted by a drunken birthday girl trying to threaten us and looking for a confrontation for no reason at all other than drunken anger. The attitude of the staff wasn't very helpful then.

As a platinum elite member I've stayed at CP on numerous occasions and have always thoroughly enjoyed my stay with the fantastic range of the breakfast menu a particular highlight. However, the recent change from breakfast tea in a pot to help yourself is a real let down. Breakfast has changed to a free for all queue for tea and coffee, on numerous occasions there has been 1. No cups, 2. No milk 3. No water left in the jugs and 4. Warm water in the jugs. I've been told that this is for a trial period only and I sincerely hope that things revert back to normal very soon. a number of my fellow platinum colleagues have complained to me so II know this isn't just my opinion. Please can we have breakfast tea and coffee pots back?

Stopped over at CP Liverpool as had early morning flight. Excellent value for upgrading to exec room which gave us extra comfort, facilities and parking. Meal in Bistro good, All staff polite and friendly. Would highly recommend and it was so relaxing not having an early morning dash to the airport.

we stayed overnight before an early flight. Room was perfectly fine and quiet (FRI night)
reception staff need to improve but cheery efficient staff greeted us at breakfast which was very good with an excellent choice.
we got a good deal so it was great value for money

A stylish looking hotel let down by some service details.
My room had not been clealed properly and there was a dirty razor with packaging left in the bathroom. The bedroom was cold so I turned on the air con / heater but it was noisy and I couldnt hear the TV as max volume had been limited. So I turned it of when I went to sleep. Woke up feeling cold.
Breakfast was good though.

I like this hotel, it is unusual in it's design, and stay here on a regular basis.
The top floor rooms are of a good size and standard. The standard rooms are ok but a little tired.
For me, the hotel is convenient for work, away from the city centre and has excellent facilities via the reciprocal arrangement with the David Lloyd club next door.
On most occasions i book via IHG but for this stay i booked with the hotel direct as IHG had a strange 3 night minimum stay rule on their system??
As some other members have stated, this hotel does not recognise Platinum status, does not honour the express check in line and to be perfectly honest the staff need some serious customer care training.
I have found the staff to be unprofessional each time i have stayed here (and have let it slide) but this stay was the worst, with probably the most unhelpful staff i have encountered in an IHG hotel.
Come on IHG! Crowne Plaza is supposed to be quality. Sort out the staff!!!!

The hotel is lovely and staff friendly but the room, not good. There was a wedding on at the hotel and we were in room 201, till the early hours of the morning we had noisy guests banging doors and to make things worse the room was on the corner of the building overlooking the entrance,again till the early hours noisy guests were standing outside smoking. We did not get a good night sleep when the whole idea of our stay was to be fresh for a long days travelling the next day. We apreciate the hotel has weddings and people loke to enjoy themselves but perhaps other guests have to be also considered..

This hotel was convenient for me because it was close to the airport (but not close enough to walk). No shuttle bus service provided. Staff member on reception was not friendly or helpful. I ate in the bar in the evening I arrived, ordered buffalo mozarella & tomato salad and got cherry tomatoes on lots of lettuce with tasteless cubed cheese (not mozarella). I wouldn't stay here again.

Having booked to see Il Divo at the Liverpool Echo Arena there remained the choice of a hotel for the weekend for my wife and I.
The choice easily narrowed down to one: having stayed at the Liverpool - John Lennon Airport on business some years ago, I spoke highly of it to my wife.
We have to say our stay more than met our expectations.

As you will see from my account, I stay at this hotel on a very regular basis and I have to say that my recent stay was the worst I have had at any IHG hotel. It was definately way short of the level of service I expect from CP Hotel.
The check in staff were ok but didnt have my room ready, as a platinum member I would expect this for a trouble free check in. But it was at dinner where the main issues were. I sat there for 23 minutes waiting for someone to take my orders, after 15 minutes I mentioned this to a waiter who said he would be back in a second but completely ignored me after that. I finally went to the guy behind the bar who took my order and said he would bring my wine over. he then proceeded to serve at least another dozen people and fater waiting another 10 minutes went to the bar again!
I then waited a further 40 minutes for my dinner to arrive- which when it did was very good, but the service was appalling. Not one person seemed to know what they were doing, I would call it organised chaos.
Yes it was relatively busy, but nothing you should not be able to cope with, sure;y you monitor the level of bookings and appoint staff accordingly?
It placed me in a bad mood for my business meetings the following day and hope amongst hope that service is better the next time I stay in a couple of weeks!
Please let me know what recompense i will receive for this awful stay.
