Aug 2013. Had a long bank holiday stay at this hotel. Room with view of the Mersey was great, clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and the service was good - although breakfast on the bank holiday Monday was a bit chaotic. It was very busy and we had to wait 10 minutes for a table and then had to wait again for bacon and eggs. Enjoyed my stay there.
Two negatives were that the shower curtain was smelly and the parking spaces were too narrow.

The hotel was in a great location with easy access to shops and local museums. However the room was not very big and the bathroom was 'tired' looking with several marks and scrapes on the furniture. The windows were tightly screwed down which meant you could not have any fresh air in the room - personally I like the window open at night. The Restaurant and Leisure facilities were good #excellent gym# as were the staff who were very helpfull. However the no smoking policy needs to be enforced more thoroughly.

I went to this hotel for my 50th birthday. It was in an ideal location. Great having a swimming pool. Only down side was the kids running up and down the hallways at 6.30am.

We had a lovely room, bad very comfortable and nothing wanting.The staff could not have been nicer every one was lovely and extremely helpful. The breakfast seemed to leave nothing out at all and was very high quality. We would love to stay here again and hope to in the future.

We give the very low rating for just one reason.
This one reason is the very poor air quality in the room.
We could not open the window for fresh sea air at all. Is there a serious pollution problem nearby outside?
At the lowest temperature setting of the air conditioning control, the system delivered warm and very very stuffy air that prevented us from sleeping at night.
Unless the air quality problem is resolved we are unlikely to return or recommend this hotel.
We shall be happy to read a response on this matter.

All the staff were excellent and helped with all enquiries.Thought the room was quite small and the furniture in poor condition but the on-going problems with the air-conditioning spoilt our stay which was quite disappointing .There was an attempt to rectify the aircon fault after we had complained and an engineer was sent to look at the issue ,thought he had fixed it but we suffered the same problem as our first night -room far too hot - toooooo hot to sleep.

After surfing the internet for choice of hotel I shortlisted several in the Docks area. I opted for the Crown Plaza as it offers parking facilities on site which I regard as a must, also my past Holiday inn experiences over the years have generally been very good.
The reception staff were welcoming especially the Commissionaire who greeted us at the entrance, his customer relations skills were outstanding. The reception area was busy but comfortable and very pleasing to the eye. There was an exception to this when I called in to the gents toilet, someone had scattered newspapers and toilet roll over the floor this was at 11am, I was surprised to see that later in the evening it was still there.
Our bedroom was clean and comfortable with a good view from the window, shame that the window could not be opened as all rooms benefit from fresh air. I switched on the air con to cool down the room but after turning it off the fan could be heard rather noisily as though it was turning slowly and making a groaning noise, a bit of maintenance needed as it did disturb efforts to relax.
The club lounge was small but pleasant. The snacks available were very limited ie nuts crisps olives and very small pieces of garlic bread, the sort of thing that some hotels place on the bar.
Unfortunately empty glasses, cups and plates were left on tables throughout the day without anyone taking responsibility to clear them away making it look scruffy.
Breakfast was the best I have ever experienced in a Holiday Inn, it was on par with any Hilton. The staff, cleanliness and range of choice were first class. Compliments must go to the chef and supporting staff. Would we stay here again ? without hesitation.

I lost a tiny diamond earring in my room. The Housekeeper Seraphina found it for me!! She & the lady who cleaned the room emptied the vac bag & sorted through the grotty contents (with no guarantee of success of course). Fabulous staff.

Have been to the crown plaza numerous times and their attitude is allways the same helpfull and friendly . L have a son who is in a wheelchair and they go out of their way to insure everything is just right for him. All the staff are are A1

Good central hotel with great pool and leisure facilities. Reception were very helpful and friendly . Rooms are nice and breakfast buffet was good. Bar staff were very laid back and at 1 stage I counted 6 staff but waited 5 minutes to be served.

When we went in for breakfast all the tables were full of used plates and we could not find anywhere to sit, so we went to the restaurant and purchase a very nice breakfast.
The club lounge was fine on the evening well serviced we enjoyed a drink before dinner, that was also very good and value for money.

We only stayed at the hotel for 1 night but I wish it had been longer.
From the minute we arrived I could not fault a thing!! The staff were so friendly and helpful, The bar area has just been re-furnished so was lovely and modern, really nice to sit and have a drink before you go out. The rooms are lovely and clean, very comfortable.
The spa and swimming pool area is great, we had a nice relaxing swim and Jacuzzi.
The location is excellent, it is right next to the dock area, Liverpool one shopping centre is less then 10 minute walk and you are close to Matthew street and plenty of restaurants and bars, you do not need your car at all as you can walk to everything.
I am really looking forward to going back to Liverpool soon and the Crown Plaza will be top of my list.

Chose a waterfront bedroom and were allocated 4th floor on check-in which was very speedy with attentive reception staff. Lovely bright airy room with view over the waterfront. Superbly appointed bathroom with plenty of space for toilet bags etc., and good selection of toiletries. Plenty of drawer space with robes and slippers and air conditioning which was a bonus as it was very hot. Bed extremely comfortable. Can't comment on the Spa facilities as didn't use due to lack of time. Very relaxing stay and we will return very soon.

our room was quite expensive so we expected a big luxury room, instead it was a pretty box standard small room, to start off with we got given the wrong room number so couldn't get into our room, then we got into the room and as 4 adults were staying in one room, we were quite squished. There weren't enough towels for 4 adults and luckily we had taken our own. We couldn't use the fridge in the room unless we filled it (another expense#. There was a huge ant in one of the beds! The beds were quite comfy but they should have been for the price we paid. There had been a wedding in the hotel and we arrived back to the hotel to 3 police cars outside the doors #just what you need to see). We used the swimming pool and the spa, they were nice and relaxing and also had a treatment in the beauty, cannot fault the ladies in there. They were lovely and chatty and welcoming, gave us idea where to go out etc.
Overall was an ok stay but for the price we paid I expected better

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by gray40 room was very comfortable and air con fab
overall exp was good. To make it excellent, you need to focus on the food quality,esp hot breakfast later in the morning when some had been on show too long. Also, the bar snacks could be improved in quality. However, the staff are excellent plus!! and nothing appears too much trouble for them. They are a great asset, continue to look after them as they make any stay so relaxed and worthwhile.

Excellent location, room and public areas well decorated and modern. Clean and comfortable. Friendly bar staff. Very good breakfast spread. Would definitely stay here again if visiting Liverpool. Car park on site reasonably priced and convenient.

I still really enjoy my visits to Liverpool where I find the staff and the location excellent. My only criticism has been the Club Lounge and I was extremely pleased to see that the rumours are true and the Lounge is about to get the much needed facelift. The staff from cleaner up are the most helpful in any IHG hotel I have stayed in (and thats quite a few) and nothing is a problem and all with a genuine smile. You can park the car up and everything that Liverpool has to offer is on your doorstep.

This was our first visit to Liverpool and what a charming city! The hotel location could not be better - steps to the Mersey ferry, next to the lovely Three Graces buildings, a quick walk to the museums, and great restaurants nearby. The hotel was spotless, very comfortable, and truly had some of the friendliest people we've ever encountered (and we're in hotels at least 10 nights a month). Highly recommended!

We stayed at The Crowne Plaza Liverpool one night for a birthday treat. The staff were lovely, the breakfast was excellent,we didn't have our evening meal at the hotel . The room was spotless & there were two double beds in our room which were very comfortable. The location was great, the hotel is right next to the river & opposite the Liver building. It's right at the heart of the city & shops & restaurants. If I had one small moan it was the view, we paid extra for a river view buit most of it was obscured by part of the hotel & a building on the river front. But all in all a lovely hotel, great food, location & staff .

Friendly, helpful and make your stay a pleasure.
The service starts at reception and continues throughout.
The management at this hotel have got the winning formula.
A special mention for Luke who when I was checking out just after 04.00 hrs made my day start with a smile.
Good location and always a pleasure to stay at.

A brilliant choice to visit Liverpool. All the main attractions are within easy walking distance, including the Mersey Ferry. Lots of shopping and eating choices to suit all tastes and prices.
Car parking is on site and easy to find with Sat Nav.

Really good service with attentive staff. Breakfast was superb and catered for my wife who is a vegetarian. Nice view over looking the water. Even though there was a wedding throughout the day it did not disrupt any of our plans, speaking to staff, service at the bar.
