Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Disrespectful and disorganised staff As a group we were so excited to be staying at crowne plaza hotel in kondon Kensington but it did not happen. As the organiser for hotels I chose this hotel as it was very central and close to the places we wanted to visit. The rooms were standard but very noisy. Our party all found that from 7am we were woken up by other people staying in the hotel and noise from housekeeping walls must be very thin then the next day the rest of the party was Checking in and first of all the room was messed up not meeting our requirements and it also had damp and smelt very bad!!! Later on in the day another of our party was meant to Check in but rooms were not ready and it was after 2pm so later on when they check in they decided to tell us we had no rooms left!! The staff were very unhelpful and disorganised and talked with a lot of attitude!! We felt embarrassed and very upset as obviously we had paid for all the rooms and decided to tell us that t was our fault!! It put such a downer on the night as everything just ran late and couldn't enjoy our night as we were all so annoyed nd upset from what had happened!! Even though we had rang the hotel 4 times to confirm our booking before the visit!! They breached their own policy of giving out room keys and didnt even care. June 7, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfy and super convenient My teenage daughter and I stayed at three different hotels during our visit to the UK (two in London), and this was our favorite. The room was much larger than our other London hotel room, with two double beds. It's also right across the street from the Gloucester tube station, which is on the line that goes out to Heathrow and also has a direct connection to some of our other destinations. I particularly liked it for the nights we went to the theater, it's a little scary for two women to be out and about in a big city at night, but the tube itself always seemed safe, and the Crowne Plaza is just across the street from the station. There are also a bunch of restaurants close by. The staff was very friendly and helpful. June 6, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good I stayed at this Hotel on two different occasions. I booked the Hotel through online and paid all the booking in advance month before i arrived. Was on leisure trip and little business trip as well. During my first day of arrival I had a bad experience at the hotel which I am not going into the details as I have written a 4 pages letter of dissatisfaction but upon my returned from Glasgow, I am very glad that the Hotel had made my stay most pleasurable and warmth. I would like to add here that the Hotel is the best place to stay in London as it is very convenient. It has fast foods, restaurants, supermarkets, post office and most of all the Gloucester tube station is just aroud the corner. The beds are clean and confortable and shower pressure is excellent and service is superb. I would also very much like to say that the staff, Mr GONZALA is the most pleasant and hospitable staffs the Hotel has. He is always there to help and assists whatever ways he can. Though the first day of arrival was not good but i still praised the service offered by Mr Gonzala. I would like to take this opportunity to thank him for everything since i was not able to meet him after i returned from Glasgow. June 6, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GREAT STAY Just like my last stay here, i was upgraded to a suite in recognition of my platinum status....thanks a million for the same! It facilitated my business meetings having a spacious lounge area and allowed me to have friends over with no shortage of space. Both the room and the sitting-room were spacious and excellently appointed. I found the staircase a wee bit inconvenient between the two levels but that was an insignificant issue given all the plusses of this excellent hotel. The staff too, were unfailingly helpful and polite and dealt with my one or two requests promptly and efficiently. A really good choice in London! June 5, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Location, Great Service, Great option for London I am often in London for business and I usually stay at different IHG properties, I have to say the Crowne Plaza Kensington was a fantastic option. location is great, just in fornt of gloucester road underground, and close by to restaurants cafes, supermarkets and best of all, the museums. my room was excellent Ii was upgraded and given a fabulous s story room which really made my stay great. Staff ae very friendly and helpful! I will definitely stay there next time - if ofcourse prices are right.. May 31, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Location, Location, Location Except for being charged to use the Club Room with its annoyingly loud music with lack of value for what it cost, it is a nice clean, modern place to stay. It was a shock after staying at the Crown Plaza, Copenhagen, where I could have had dinner with what was offered free with drinks in their Club Room. May 29, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Gold star service Our first time at the Crowne Plaza Kensington, and it won't be our last. Friendly attentive and efficient staff. The environment was clean with a suberb ambience, beds comfortable, all facilities were beyond our expectations. May 28, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by We had two complaints Complaint One. The hotel does not have parking so you can use the Holiday Inn across the road which does have onsite parking. No problem. However when we arrived we were told the car park was full and we would have to park in the road. When we complained and were about to drive off we were stopped by one of the concierge and told he would let us into the car park but he shouldn't really. When we got into the park it was less than half full. Was he hoping for a big tip? Complaint Two. I am a Premier Gold Card holder and so we would always hope to be upgraded. I understand this is not always possible but I seem to get refused a lot at the Crowne Plaza hotels but do get the upgrades at Holiday inn's. On day two of our stay I asked if I could use the Club Lounge as I had some work to do. I was told you are not in a Club room so no, however if you pay £60 you can use the lounge. We complained bitterly and was told OK we can do it for £30. We complained again and the lady on reception said OK you can use it for free. In summary it looked like everybody was trying to make a few pounds on the side. In future I won't be staying at Crowne Plaza's, their loss as I travel extensively in the UK and Europe. May 27, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Another pleasant stay I love this hotel. I always stay here when in London if possible as the hotel is great, it is very central (Circle LIne) and across the road from Gloucester Tube station. My upgraded room was awesome - the best room in London by far. The gym is also one of the better gyms in London and so once again an excellent stay. However I do have a gripe this stay: - the breakfast was a little disapointing, it seemed a little unappetising and as if it was just thrown together , the bacon was terrible (this is my personal taste of course) but I would rather go outside the hotel and have a lovely fresh breakfast for half the price. I was unable to get a late checkut but I do understand this might happen if another Priority Club member is arriving so I understood why they couldn't help me out. And finally, what I found unfortunate is I am a Platinum Ambassador member and I wasn't allowed into the members lounge like I was the previous time and I sincerely believe this should definitely be part of the Platinum Ambassador members benefits. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel We have stayed here many times over the years. Comfortable hotel with good service. Situated near tube station with links to central London. Also a bus service ditto. Near to Major galleries and the Albert Hall. The only let down was the breakfast which was not of the quality or quantity of choice for a 4 star hotel. Has been good in the past but not so now. May 21, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by London May 2013 It was a very nice room and bathroom. Clean. Staff was pleasant at the front desk. I did leave an item (small pic of London) in the room. I tried to call and then left an email in the Customer Care section of Crowne Plaza asking them to mail it to me and I would pay for postage. Still no response. I would think since my name and home address was on the bill for that room - they would mail it to me. May 20, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Night at the Royal Albert Hall We came to london for just one night to watch a concert at the Royal Albert Hall. From the minute we arrrived at the Hotel the staff were most attentive. This was a family trip which was excellent. My daughter said the chef in the restaurant should be on master chef. Would definatly come again. May 19, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Enjoyable visit This hotel has it all! Fantastic location, short walk to the tube station and within easy reach on foot to lovely restaurants, cafes and shops. The staff were professional and friendly and I felt as though they look a genuine interest in me. I had breakfast in the hotel and again I couldn't fault the quality of the food or the service. I would highly recommend a stay! May 18, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Second Stay- Fab Hotel I have stayed at The Crowne Plaza Kensington twice now and intend to book it again when I visit London in August and next year when my husband runs the marathon again! The staff are extremely helpful, it has been refurbished to an excellent standard and is perfectly located opposite the tube, easily accessible from Paddington on the circle line. If you want to walk rather than take the tube, it's a short walk (20 mins ish!) to both Kensington High Street and Science Museum. There are many good restaurants in the vicinity, not to mention the food in the hotel bar- children eat for free with a paying adult- perfect for my 2year old daughter. The rooms are spacious for London and tastefully decorated with extra touches such as the toiletries and aromatherapy spray. Rooms on the 6th floor are in the eaves, so not as spacious as rooms on the lower floors. I highly recommend this hotel. May 16, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic service, great location. The London Kensington exceeded our expectation. The staff was friendly and professional. The rooms were considered larger than average for the area, clean and comfortable. We would absolutely go back. May 16, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Superb Location. Superb location, excellent room, good service. We would definitely stay here again. May 13, 2013

Bed was so so so comfortable,.Breakfast was delicious & good choices to eat....Would definitely stay here again & recommend to others travelling to London... May 9, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location Excellent location, convenient for the tube, priority club member, on arrival my room was not ready 15.00, lady on the front desk very helpful & apologetic, left our luggage & went for a walk to natural history museum, 5 minutes from hotel. On our return we where told we had been upgraded to a suite. Everything was Excellent, hotel, room, breakfast, location excellent weekend. Will defiantly stay here again. May 6, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by weekly visit for over 3 years i stay here about 60 nights a year-highly recommended for comfort and friendly staff May 5, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by London Marathon Weekend Stay We chose this hotel because it was the best value hotel fit for purpose, so glad we did. The standard of the hotel was excellent. The location was great, across the road from the main tube lines. We booked a club room. The room was what we expected but what we didnt expect was the extra's associated with a club room, unlimited entrance to the private club members lounge where drinks & snacks were free to guests all day. Definitely would make a point of staying here again when next in London. May 4, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by we were delighted! we were up-graded to a suite; the staff is quick and attentive the restaurant is awesome providing tremendous Asian food: for us coming from Singapore it was like to be back at home we will be definitely back May 3, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Another excellent stay at the Crowne Plaza Kensington This is one of my most favourite hotels in the world. The change to the restaurant was a pleasant surprise, the chef truly knows his craft with every dish more exquisite than the last. I only wished I had stayed longer to explore more of the menu. The bar area is beautiful, it is so easy just to relax and let the evening drift by whilst you enjoy a drink. Staff are extremely attentive and justly proud of their hotel. Ready to help at all times with anything from "what to drink" to "what to show to see in London". Overall an excellent week. May 2, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel, great location and service I stayed at the Crowne Plaza Kensington for five nights with two friends for a Girls' vacation. I highly recommend this hotel. The customer service was great and the concierge was especially friendly and helpful. The included breakfast buffet was a nice way to start a busy day of sightseeing, and the happy hour was a great way to unwind afterward. Our only complaint was that the walls between rooms were thin and we could hear conversations (and arguments) through the walls. Otherwise, A+ April 28, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice place but needs better service Overall the hotel was nice, the staff was very accomodating and the atmosphere was pleasant. The only thing I found sub-par was the service in the room. We were a party of four, yet we didn't get four towels for the room until the last day. Also, the room cleaning really lacked any effort that I could see. It seems like they only made the beds and that was it. The tea service was not peplaced in the cupboard, dirty glasses were not replaced and some wayward garbage that fell out of the garbage can was left on the floor. For the price we payed, I expcted much more then that. It was fairly disappointing. April 26, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stay Great weekend stay. We arrived slightly early but were allowed to check in straight away and were offered a free upgrade from King Club to Suite. Check in staff were friendly, efficient & polite. Room was fantastic over 2 levels with 2 bathrooms, 2 flat screen TV's, lounge / office area & king bed. Club lounge was nice to have with free newspapers, magazines, TV, Internet, soft drinks / tea / coffee all day & alcohol / nibbles from 6pm - 8pm. Club lounge was also great for a quiet breakfast. Reception, bar & communal area's were all done out to a high standard & very clean. Great experience overall & would recommend. April 26, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exceptional service and excellent location This hotel is very well located close to Gloucester Road tube and adjacent a number of decent restaurants and pubs. However, what makes Crowne Plaza Kensington really excellent is the friendly, knowledgable and helpful staff. Rooms are very comfortable, quiet and generous in size. The bar and restaurant have a nice atmosphere and quite suitable for casual business meetings. Overall a good experience that keeps bringing us back. April 24, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by fantastic location Wonderful location: walking distance to a tube station with three lines. 24 hour Tesco at your door step and a Waitrose as well for items not found at Tesco! They operate a kids eat free policy so it is really economical when traveling as a family of three or four (kids share room for free as well!) Breakfast is of good quality, but we found the bread to have a green fungus(needs attention!) Efficient and friendly concierge with a true concern (Tony and Raj) Rooms are a bit dated now and need refurbishing of furniture: bathrooms are clean and tidy. Plumbing also a bit dated : may be to do with the old property. All in all a fantastic hotel (despite the listed SMALL issues). Will always stay here on my visits to London April 21, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great location for museums Good quality hotel a few blocks away from the museums in Kensington with easy access to the London underground. The hotel staff were very helpful & welcoming. We had a Club room with access to the Club lounge where you could enjoy a quiet continental breakfast, Tea & coffee throughout the day & drinks & canapes in the evening. As a family, we were only able to take advantage of the breakfast, thus making the cost of the club somewhat uneconomical. Our only other negative would be that the room decor & furniture were a little worn & tired. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay with its great central 'sights' location. April 18, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel! I enjoyed every second in this hotel. Great service and comfort. Excellent value of money. Would definitely recommend this hotel to all my friends. April 18, 2013
