The main problem with my stay was construction going on. It started at 7am and when I mentioned it, I was told "no, we told them they can't start that early." Well, I wasn't make it up! They did agree and did change my room, but I can't imagine I was the only person annoyed by the construction noise, especially early.
The room was dirty. I found long dark hair, which I don't have personally, all over the bathroom, the beds and the rugs. That's when I checked in. To be fair, I did not see them again during my stay.
Though the room service meals are not terrific, I will say that the room service staff members were very friendly, conversational, not obviously looking for someone to ignore the 12.5% that was already added to the bill as yet another tip. The front desk staff was a mix. Some officious people and some friendly ones.
I understand this is a business hotel and most of them like to take a hands-off approach to their customers, but this went a little too far. I stayed in three hotels during this trip and the other two were more geared toward leisure travel, so I expected them to feel different, but I would only recommend this specific hotel if your business needs are in walkable distance from the hotel. Otherwise, I think there are better options in the area.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jayne01 great hotel
I booked 2 rooms and one of the rooms was upgraded to a club room but we were unable to use the club facilities as part of the upgrade which was OK as explained to us. Staff were really helpful when one of my friends was upset because they only had a king rather than twin and offered to arrange an extra bed from a nearby hotel as they didn't have any.

*A solid business hotel with professional staff and nice accommodation
*Great complimentary upgrade to a spacious club room with club access
* Don’t miss the top floor restaurant with stunning views across the city
* Located in the heart of Shoreditch. Not close to any tube station but bus stop on your doorstep
* I feel very comfortable returning to the Crowne Plaza London Shoreditch who really cares about Platinum Priority Club / Royal Ambassador Members

All the staff are very helpful. Particulary the Concierge who showed me on the map how to get to my course venue the next day and the approximate time it would take to get there. His directions were excellent. The waiters in the restaurant for the evening meal were exceptionally nice.

I stayed in this hotel for a few days and it is very nice. The room had everything, tea and coffee. Ironing board and safe, lots of coat hangers. The bathroom was clean and functional, the shower was lovely.
Did not eat in the hotel.
Location is a bit out of the way, but there are lots of buses and Liverpool St tube is about a 10 minute walk.

Shoreditch is a fantastic place to spend a weekend, but hotels can be expensive. This one is bang in the centre of it all and great value for money. Recommended, unless you want arty at a much bigger price.

I have stayed in this hotel many times over the past five years and it has always been consistently high quality with excellent service. My last stay was the best ever - the room was very comfortable and quiet, and I was able to get an extended check-out, which enabled me to complete some work before leaving to catch an international flight. I love the location - it is an interesting part of London with very good night life nearby. I look forward to staying again in the future.
