Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable, convenient and great service This was our second visit to this hotel, and we'll be back. The location is convenient for exploring a fascinating area of London on foot (Shoreditch old and new, Brick Lane, Hoxton, etc) but also has handy bus and tube connections to all the city's attractions. Breakfast at The Globe Restaurant on a sunny morning is not to be missed! May 2, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pleasant stay Stayed there 3 nights on a leisure week-end. Nice, contemporary designed room, lovely bathroom, beautiful view over east london from breakfast room. April 28, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic service I have used Crowne Plaza for work several times now. the staff especially on reception and in the restaurant have been helpful and welcoming. The reception staff and manager have been exceptional. i arrived without some important documents copied and printed and the manager went beyond the call of duty to do them for me without charging me the earth, Nothing has ever been too much trouble. Excellent The restaurant is on the seventh floor and has an amazing view across London. The food was generally excellent although a change of menu would be nice. I would wholeheatedly recommend the hotel and the secure car park was also useful April 13, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by London Escape On arrival I was greeted with a warm smile. Within 5 mins I was all checked in and on my way to my room. Having booked a room based on the the pictures and reviews direct from the site I was not let down. The room was beautiful. The small things that we take for granted when staying in a hotel far exceeded my expectations. There was more then enough coffee and tea for myself and my plus 1. The room service was excellent and with the exception of an unexpected alarm call in the morning the Champagne breakfast took most of the day to enjoy. I have nothing negative to say, the stay was amazing. From the room to being able to relax in the bar in the evening. The staff are all welcoming and friendly. I enjoyed my stay at the Crown Plaza Shoreditch, and whilst the location may seem out of the way for the true London experience I found the taxi, bus and tube services excellent. April 10, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by You need to pay and train your staff much better The check-out was very problematic, staff completely helpless and unexperienced - and this in a business hotel. The restaurant has only very average food - you really need to hire a new chef. The food quality is very poor - in such a nice restaurant. The rooms though are nice, the hardware in this hotel is really extremely good, the software is catastrophic. This hotel need urgently a new GM. April 3, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Same issue as many other people It's good to see the customer care team responding to the review here, but it seems as though the same old issues are still prevalent. This review is meant to be constructive and not just a moan. - The decor in the rooms is very old. Drab colors everywhere, old CRT tv's with a poor selection of channels. The rooms are in serious need of an refresh. - The free wireless service is verypoor. Try and do some work that involves even the smallest amount of data transfer and you are in for a bad experience. This needs to improve and fast. - The fitness center is nothing more than 4 cardio machines. It was disappointing not to find any weights at all. The breakfast is excellent and the restaurant has some amazing view over the city. I will stay again but I cant recommend this hotel. April 1, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great breakfast Excellent breakast and really nice view from the breakfast room. Great location if you want to experience the east end. Perfect if you like vintage, indian food an easy access from Stansted airport March 28, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Crowne plaza Shoreditch Arrived on the Friday. This was a social trip for my wife and myself to visit some event in London. Arrived mid afternoon. Staff sort of helpful and sort of not. I wanted to use the business lounge but was told. I could not as it was reserved for ambassador members only. After 8 years of PE status. I have never had this before in a rowen plaza hotel. I have stayed in them around the world, Not sure what tha was about I asked and they said we have to restrict because its too small. Stay away from breakfast 19.99 even if you want a cup of coffee and a slice of toast. Head down to Liverpool street station and eat at one of the many cafes. They cannot book a cab unless its out of hours and then they have to use one of their own cars. This was my second visit. Would I come back. Simply NO. March 23, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Highly recommended We had a great stay here last week. The room was lovely, the hotel situated in a perfect location and the room rates excellent value. We'll definitely stay here again. March 22, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Crowne Plaza Shoreditch - A Gem In The Rough! An excellent choice in the Holiday Inn chain. Stayed two weeks at CP Shoreditch so far with two weeks to go and it has been without fault. Rooms have been great - in particular got upgraded to a Deluxe one week which was particularly nice. Room service food ordered has come quickly and is of good quality. Cleaning of my room has been exceptional and clearly the staff take care in doing it right. Only visited the bar once and it was nice, if a little quiet. Overall a superb hotel, ideally placed for travel into the City or local nightlife. I'm working near Moorgate and it takes just 10 minutes walk in the morning. A March 21, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great value We had a standard double room which had everything we needed including wine glasses which is nice. We were particularly impressed with the bathroom which was a really good size. We asked for a top floor room and got the fifth floor which gave a great view of the city across to the Gherkin. The breakfast was very good and we enjoyed the view from the restaurant. Only criticism is that the room thermostat wouldn't go below 19 degrees and as the windows don't open it was too warm for us. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lovely room, clean and staff really friendly My friend and I picked this hotel as we needed to be close to Liverpool Street Station for my comute to Lee Valley Athletics Stadium. Also my friend could comute easily into the centre of London. The hotel staff were really friendly and our room was lovely. There was a brilliant Turkish restaurant nearby but the street was pretty lively at night so plenty of eating places around. Once in the room at night you could not hear any noise from the street (must have been sound proofed). We were booked in for room only, but when we arrived we were offered a special half price breakfast for £10. We did this on the Sunday morning. £20 for breakfast I thought was a bit steep but offer value for money. The hotel had a lovely roof top restaurant with stunning views around the city. Will go back to this hotel.. March 16, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable & Good location Stayed here whilst on business in London, good location for where I needed to be. Comfortable hotel but room was not that great considering i received an upgrade, as a platinum member quite small really. not suitable for two persons. For a Crown Plaza I was quite disappointed on how basic the room & hotel was. I also thought for a double room it was dissapointing to find one bottle of water and only one packet of buscuits so were they only expecting one guest. I had room service and the cheese board was not edible, very poor quality. I complained and received a refund. March 14, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Hotel - Needs Upgrading Hotel is nicely situated and within easy reach of Liverpool Street and a couple of other tube stations. Service was good at the front desk with courteous staff who were generally receptive to my requests. I chose to eat outside due to limited menu choices and overpricing - lots of curry houses on Brick lane and a few decent pubs nearby had better value for money. Rooms are small, curtains look like something out of the eightes (with small velvet balls sewn on!) - all that was needed was a disco ball and some lights to complete the effect (smile). Old CRT TV provided, with limited channels. Wireless was complimentary but very slow and tedious to use. Bathrooms were decently appointed, but the water smelled like recycled cabbage stuffed in week-old socks. There was some night work by paving crews so didn't get much sleep as my room faced Shoreditch Road. Am back in London during May, but I'll be staying at another hotes such as a Holiday Inn or equivalent. March 13, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Rooms I stay in London every week - and look for best rate across a number of IHG Hotels. The Shoreditch won this week ,, and having stayed there several times before happy to accept. The Hotel is modern, has good sized rooms (I had an upgrade), importantly this time had a supremely comfortable bed - great nights sleep on both nights. Breakfast was good, although a few more 'Low-Fat' items would be nice. Quality of cooked food was good - however they supply smoked bacon, that is strange for breakfast bacon .,.. too overpowering. They should either use un-smoked or at least offer this. This time I got round to using 'fitness centre' not huge, but good to use a few fitness machines followed by a Sauna. The one disadvantage for Shoreditch is it's location ... it is not close to any tube stations, Olkd Street is a fair walk - you would not want to do this in the rain or with a case, and it's not an easy walk if you are are unfamiliar with the area. Liverpool St. is a straight route - but again not close ... 15min+ and not ideal if raining. So not ideal for tourists. There is not a huge choice of places to eat nearby, but dod the 15 min+ walk towards Liverpool St/Broadgate and there is plenty of choice. I did a traipse down the slightly more colorful route of Bethnal Green Rd, Sclater St to get me to Brck Lane .... which has the famous run of curry houses. So if you can get a good deal ... you can have a great room ... February 22, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by One of the best hotels i've been to Highly recommended everything was excellent location, staff service and room quality. I'm definitely going to return. February 11, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel in a great location My husband and I stayed at the Crowne Plaza for 16 days. We stayed in a club room which was very comforatable and allowed us access to the club lounge for breakfast and hors d'oeurves in the evening time. Although we hardly utilized the lounge it was a nice option. The hotel restaurant has a wonderful view, large windows all adding to a nice atmosphere. The hotel location is perfect with many restaurants and pubs to choose from and 15 minute walk to Old Street Station or Liverpool Street Station. We will definitely stay here again. February 7, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great deal On checking in at 13.00 our room was ready which was an added unexpected bonus, another bonus was a complimentary upgrade. I have stayed in this property on business previously and this was a leisure visit, I would have no hesitation in recommending this for either. February 4, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Staff at Reception & Housekeeping The staff in both these areas were first class Friendly always prepared to help. My Daughter left her very expensive wrist watch in the room & I received a call from reception to ask if we had left anything which we thought was Brilliant. The drink in the bar was also very good price wise. Overall cleanest friendliest hotel I have stayed in for ages Thank You January 31, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Shoreditch Crowne Plaza Excellent value at special rate. The staff is very attentive, the beds very comfortable. The only bad point was the lack of internet over two days. January 27, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Highly recommended! Clean and modern hotel with helpful, professional staff very keen to please. A 5-10 minute walk from the station (Liverpool Street), a great location for the City, Barbican, Shoreditch, Spitalfields and Central London. January 26, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lovely spacious room that was spotlessly clean Location excellent for our needs close to Liiverpool Street Station and plenty of bars and restaurants close by. Car parking efficient and reasonable cost. Staff pleasant and helpful. Will definitely be returning to this hotel. January 16, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Fantastic Hotel! Stayed at the hotel for leisure and was highly impressed with the service provided by all of the staff. Upon arrival was offered an upgrade due to being a priority cardholder. The room was very modern and clean. Close enough to the underground and bars nearby. Would highly recommend this hotel to all. January 14, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by More attention to detail please. I stayed at the Hotel for a night in December and was slightly disappointed that my request which I have placed via phone beforehand where completely forgotten. I have to say that Gabi from the reception tried to make my stay a pleasant experience. Room service is always good and the rooms are pleasant to stay in. I will definitely stay there again. January 14, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Stuffy rooms Overall the hotel and room price was reasonable. However, the rooms were stuffy and the air con only had a range of 19-28 degrees. This made it extremely difficult to sleep. I would probably consider other hotels before re-booking the Crown Plaza again. January 10, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Stay Would recommend this hotel good connections to tube and bus would like to say thank you to Tibor who worked on reception very helpful . The restaurant had some amazing views over the rooftops January 8, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel if required to be in Shoreditch Shoreditch is not the perfect vicinity unless you have a reason to be there but the hotel was excellent. I have never slept in such a perfect comfortable bed in a long time and the breakfast was spot on with a lovely view over London which is another plus point.... January 7, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by large hotel in trendy area also good for business travellers excellent location near to liverpool st., friendly staff, gym was reasonably equipped and did the job. January 4, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent choice if you want to stay in trendy Shoreditch The Club room is pretty large (around 40 sqm) Elegantly designed. 2 sofas, 1 desk, comfortable bed. Warm colour and wood decor Bathroom with bathub. Gilchrist & Soames amenities (love their shampoo) Flat screen television with large selection of channels. Very quiet. View over the city. Windows cannot be opened The Club lounge is not huge but comfortable Free drinks along the day Evening canapes Free wifi (also in the lobby and at Globe restaurant) PC + printer Breakfast served at restaurant on weekends Good: - Very friendly staff - Cool location (if you like trendy Shoreditch district) - Elegant room - Cool top floor restaurant for breakfast (very nice panorama view over London) - Very quiet Bad: -Nothing Excellent choice if you want to stay in trendy Shoreditch (I like very much the district, full of art galleries, trendy bars/restaurants/boutiques) January 4, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Reliable & good value for money Solid reliable hotel. You get what you expect. Good value for money for the location as it is walking distance to the city. Very clean room with modern furnishings. Loved the shower. The volume of water from the shower head was great! Room service was quick, the food was good and the person who delivered it up was polite and charming. Air-con is a bit noisy though and sensitive to setting changes. I found 21 degrees too cold, but 22 slightly too hot. I found the pillows too soft too but I do like a hard pillow. But you can easily request that. The view out the window was bad too (a wall and some scaffolding) but you don't get many good views in London. Would have been nice to see some of the sky though for some natural light. WiFi reception was adequate, usually one bar, occasionally dropping to zero bars for a few seconds. I would have liked to have seen the bar up on the 7th (?) floor but didn't get time in the end. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and I'd definitely stay again if I was in the area. January 1, 2013
