Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Time to Look for Alternative Property Have always stayed at this Crowne Plaza whenever i need to stopover/overnight at LAX. Mostly experience have been fine except for this time. Upon arriving to the hotel late at night (around 11:30 pm), was waiting in the priority check-inline for platinum/gold. The other line has about 5 other people. The receptionist did not acknowledge me at first but later just signaled me with gestures to go to the normal. Then some commotions ensued between the male receptionist and 2 male guests who were apparently holding hotel vouchers from the airline. Upon reaching the male receptionist, and after verifying my credentials, no acknowledgement of platinum priority club membership etc. and when I inquire him about the ADA room that he assigned to me, he merely mentioned that things will only be a bit lower, failing to inform me that it is a roll-in shower which I am not very comfortable with and would prefer not to. From my frequent stay in CP, I believe he also failed to give me the pin # for the complimentary wifi code which I later obtained from the operator, It is indeed discomforting after having stayed at several IHG properties and coming over from Hotel Indigo in Miami where the warm reception and hospitality one receives there contrast sharply with the indifferent attitude and the mad rush to shove the guest away from the reception. May be its time to look for an alternative property. May 21, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Gold and Platinum members - don't bother While the hotel front desk has a section for Gold and Platinum members, they completely ignore you when you're standing in it. After several minutes waiting, AND making eye contact with front desk agents, I was completely ignored. I then had to go to the end of the regular line (which was very long) to wait. This was indicative of the overall treatment at this hotel, including the restaurant. I will never stay there again, and would steer any colleagues away as well. May 20, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by STAFF MADE THE DIFFERENCE! Late evening arrival from LAX, check in was quick, easy and friendly. Staff accommodated my room request, which I appreciated. Recent re-model to lobby.....ugh! Months and months of remodeling and it looks like someone needs to come in and remodel. Very bland, cold and deserted. It looked better before! Except for a pretty shell faced wall behind the staff, it is just a very unwelcoming cold lobby. Quiet Zone is the best! Check out came with a few hiccups concerning a park stay fly program, but the manager immediately took care of the situation. It was the parking structure company that caused an issue, not Crowne Plaza. I have stayed here numerous times and find it pleasant with extreme ease in and out of LAX with their shuttle. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Service is everything My comments are these. When I left, I was so mad at the reception area that I was going to leave a 1 rating for Overall Experience. I did not because the facilities and the room are outstanding! However, the Reception staff was very rude and uncaring. They did not recognize me at all for being a Platinum member, unanswered questions, never pleasant, almost to the point of rude. As I mentioned, the room was great, very comfortable. Internet good, bar good, enough towels, etc. One other negative is the charge on the hotel computers to print a boarding pass. Most Priority Club Hotels (in fact, I do 70 rooms a year......and this is the first charge for a Boarding Pass.) will have a free service or print from the reception area. May 18, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great experience! We enjoyed a Club room and had a great evening! The room was clean, large and very inviting. The bed was so comfortable. We enjoyed the happy hour and breakfast very much. The valet and front desk was very inviting and so helpful. We enjoyed dinner at the sushi bar and not only was it delicious, the sushi chef was very entertaining and talented! I definitely recommend the Crown Plaza and plan to stay there any time I need a quick getaway! May 16, 2013
