Our villa was beautiful and so large! A king for the parents and 2 doubles for the kids, plus 3 TVs. The main reception building was lovely, and the bar had a great atmosphere. The views over the golf course were very nice. So much space here, it felt really relaxing. The only negative would be that I expected a washing machine in a 2 brm villa, but there wasn't one. The compendium advised the guest laundry was complimentary but in fact cost $3 for both the washing machine and dryer.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Krid123 Great room and facilities
Overall the Crown was excellent - the room, facilities and location are great
I experienced some difficulty when calling the reservation line with some questions with my room as I had booked using my "Entertainment Card" and needed some further details / clarification as I had booked multiple rooms for my wedding - I found the lady to be extremeley rude and unhelpful. I called back 2 days later hoping to speak to someone else who I found to be very helpful and pleasant
My initial contact with the reservations line was very off putting and will make me second guess staying again even though I have functions at that location in the coming months

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by theJC Great Venue - clean and modern
this is a great venue, clean and modern, tiddy and comfortable. Great dining as well.
On the negative - the check in staff, conceirge and bar staff, were highly rude, on many occasions. So regular that dinner/pool side chat of our group all had similar rude/abrupt stories.

I don't often write reviews but felt I should recommend this hotel. it really surpassed our expectations in terms of facilities, atmosphere and overall comfort. the staff could not do enough for us and were very helpful on several occasions - particularly appreciated when traveling with 2 young children. All the staff greeted us with smiling faces - something we have not encountered very often!

From the welcome at reception to the goodbye as we packed the car the quality of the staff made this one of the best getaways my wife and I have ever enjoyed in nearly forty years together.
On top of that we found the quality of the food to be outstanding and in sufficient quantity to meet all of our requirements.
The room was more than adequate for our needs and the beds were comfortable and made for a good night's sleep.
The overall impact on us has us planning for our next trip to the Hunter area to once again have a most enjoyable time.

After 2 less than impressive phone calls to Crowne Plaza staff regarding our stay, finally on the third call I got to speak to a very helpful young lady. After previously staying numerous times at Crowne Plaza Newcastle and Coogee we were very disappointed, the late check in time meant we would have missed the bus to the wedding that we were attending, thanks to the very understanding young lady we were able to check in in time. We approached the concierge and asked where we could get something for lunch, he looked at us like we had 2 heads, his reply was not of usual Crowne Plaza standard. It also took 1 hour for our lunch to arrive in the Grapevine quite some time we thought for fish and chips and it was past the rush. My only other complaint and not only mine, but where are the hair dryers? 2 other wedding guests got a real surprise after washing their hair and to their surprise as well could not find a dryer one went with a headband and the other with a ponytail. Not satisfactory. I don't believe we received any recognition as priority club members

My family stayed at this location in an apartment just over a week ago. The rooms were lovely and clean, air conditioning worked a treat as it was quite warm when we were there. Room service was prompt and efficient. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and were very friendly. All over it was a very pleasant stay and I would go there again.

We just keep returning to Crowne Plaza Lovedale. Our favourite winery is literally five minutes away, the golf course is peaceful yet challenging and the pool is just fabulous after a hot game of golf. Then we finish our day at Redsalt Restaurant - the wait staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the food just delicious. Best steak I've ever had. Our room is always comfortable and spotless. We even gave our daughter a Priority Privilege card for her birthday so she, too, can enjoy Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley. Cannot wait to get back there before Christmas. Julie

We recently were married in the Hunter Valley and decided to stay at the Crowne Plaza for 4 nights. We also recommended the hotel to family and friends and we had about 30 rooms booked for our wedding party.
The positives about our stay:
The villas were spacious and comfortable to stay in.
The buffet breakfast was very varied and had a good choice of food.
The majority of the staff were friendly.
The negatives about our stay:
We had arranged with the Grapevine bar to have a Friday night dinner (before the wedding) at the Grapevine. About 2 months before the wedding it was arranged over the phone. They were going to put a large table (to fit 45 people) outside and we could order from the bar. About 1 month prior I called to confirm, and I was told they had no booking or arrangement in place. After a lengthy discussion I was told it was fine - and that they could accommodate us after all.
On the night I arrived, as did the 40 wedding guests, only to be told by bar staff that the Food and Beverage Manger had her told her earlier in the day that they would not "reserve seating for us". I asked her if my booked was was in the reservations book. She confirmed that the booking was there, but they decided that they would not commit to the booking. After advising the bar staff it would have been nice to inform me as I have 40 guests on the way expecting to have somewhere to sit, the bar lady responded "Don't shoot me, I am just the messenger, its not my fault". She was very rude.
So basically the Crowne plaza had our booking but just did not want to accommodate the 40 people who were all staying in the hotel. Why you would want to walk away from that business I do not know?
We ended up having to ask friends to please sit down and reserve seats in order to get everyone a table. We had one person reserving one table, and one on the other. It was very embarrassing to ask people to please sit and reserve tables.
The night earlier myself and two friends dined at Red Salt. This restaurant is terrible. The food was no where near the quality of quantity it should be for what they charge. e.g. trout salad costing $16 for entree consisted of 4 thin slices of beetroot, and teaspoon worth of trout. Completely ridiculous! The service was very slow and we did not recommend this restaurant to anyone who asked.
Additionally, even though it was noted that it was a wedding weekend - not one staff member (upon checking in or out) bothered to mention it, ask how it was or acknowledge it. An additional nice touch would have been to leave a btl of wine or a card in the room with compliments. We received this at our other hotel and it was a lovely touch. After all - this is what customer service is all about.
Overall the crowne plaza is a large hotel that has good size villas and is situated centrally. However, it lacks quality customer service and the small details that make a hotel successful and make you want to return.
We were highly disappointed that our Friday night booking was cancelled for no reason and we were told to just make do at the last minute.
After what we and all our guest spent on the accommodation that weekend - it was highly unprofessional and I cannot see myself returning.

Hi, Last time I was here I had a 2 bed villa and it was more modern than the 3 bedder this time which had drab carpet and lounge.
Towel service was only forthcoming upon request late afternoon. 2 seperate timed phone calls to housekeeping gave 2 different conflicting answers about towel exchanges. One said not to villa at all anymore and the 2 nd said sorry be over soon.
The table service waitress at breakfast on the 24th was far too talkative and was condescending in a reply to one of our questions about a mistake they had made.
She was trying to be friendly but overdid the chat.
Lovely beds. Nice bar staff. Great check in people.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Cleo Can always trust housekeeping
We enjoyed a an overnight stay as we were travelling north. On an early check in, my husband promptly went and played golf and I explored the villages and some wineries.
We enjoyed a lovely meal at Red Salt and found the room to be very comfortable.
I had thought that I had left something in the wardrobe and after many calls to housekeeping to confirm if they had found it, I was completely assured that they have a very thorough system in place to log any lost property.
I would like to thank the housekeeping staff for trying hard to find my articles.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by LeeR Great service comfortable
We have stayed in numerous times & have always been happy with service & comfort having stayed in both golf villas with other couples & also in suite rooms. The service & food in all restaurants has always been good. However It has been dissappointing that on our past 2 stays 1 year apart that the Star Anise restaurant is now closed & has not yet been replaced. The rooms are all comfortable &
spacious. The only complaint regarding rooms would be that on our most recent stay we were about 4 rooms along the corridor on the same floor as the the foyer & the entry door downstairs was very noisy when closing & this woke us up a few times during the night..

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by alibob Villa - Pefect luxury group accommodation
stayed in a group of 6, with one villa and one room in the main hotel. Very very impressed and have already recommended to others. Was pleasantly surprised by the great amount of space in the villa, with kitchen and living space plus patio. More than enough space for four adults, plus guests for dinner. Having two bathrooms was really helpful too. Then getting full access to the amazing pool and hotel facilities was an extra bonus. Stunning pool, friendly staff and great restaurant too. Location perfect for touring the Hunter Valley. Couldn't recommend more highly.

Stayed here recently to attend a conference and managed to book a great package deal so decided to stay an extra night after the conference ended. Very glad we did this! Stayed in a Spa suite which was just beautiful. The whole resort was very peaceful even though there were a lot of guests. All the staff we met were extremely friendly and helpful and the amount of gluten free food available for me was amazing. Hope to come back and stay here again.

We usese Crowne Hunter Valley as a base for our 2 days in the Hunter. It was centrally located to the wineries and restaurants.
It has a great swiming pool and the restaurant was very good. The whole hotel had a great atmosphere and we found the staff very helpful.
We chose to go at a non holiday period as we had read it could get very busy.
Thanks for a great two days

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JayneK Family friendly with plenty to do
We stayed at the Crowne Plaza Lovedale with my two children aged 6 and 8 and my parents. We all had a fabulous time. The children spent most of the holiday in the pool. Next time we'd like to stay longer and use the golf course and tennis courts, and maybe a bike ride. Even though you are conveniently close to the wineries, there is lots for families to do.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by chesne beds were comfortable, outer unit was poor,we had children in our party and there was a active wasp nest over our door, and it was a established nest
we were the Gall Hardman group..when we booked we made it clear that we required units next to each other as we are 4 sisters with their families..we pre booked pre paid with this understanding...we phoned days before to add clarity then again the day before only to be told that that was fine just to phone in the morning of our bookings to put this in place...we received a blank wall at the reception desk when I realised our appartments were blocks away ,then when my sisters booked in your receptionest was quiet rude about the fact that I was insisting on our agreement with your establihment BE KEPT.
We can go on forever with the she said I said but I am world travelled and the youngest 65,the eldest is 78, we all live in different directions,we choose your venue so we could be together at a family wedding...many$$$ BAD UNPLEASENT WEEKEND.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Deno Spacious 3 Bedroom Villa & excellent service
This was our 3rd stay at the Crowne Plaza Lovedale. We have stayed in both 2 & 3 bedroom Villas and have always found them to be spacious, comfortable and well serviced. The staff are always friendly - reception, restaurant & service staff all included. The restaurant & menu are superb and easily the best of all the Crowne Plaza's we have stayed in and for overall experience, beats the Intercontinental Sydney (another favourite of ours). For this visit friends of ours stayed with us and they were suitably impressed with the facilities. Well done all - see you again soon.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Andy83 Lovely Hotel But Couldn't Cope With Numbers
A beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting, we were very much looking forward to a quiet weekend away. However the hotel was completely full and unlike many other hotels I've stayed at where this was the case, you could really tell here.
Parking spaces were at a premium, there was a lengthy delay to check in (at 9pm!), the large swimming pool was completely overcrowded and worst of all was that the restaurant could not cope with the numbers. You pay for a hot buffet breakfast, but there were so many people that as soon as any hot food came out, it was gone in 60 seconds and not replaced for 10 minutes. Evening reservations were essential at the restaurant and upon walking up at 6pm was told there were no tables until 9:30pm, meaning we were forced to get back in the car and go somewhere after a day at the wineries.
The public areas of the hotel were incredibly rowdy, full of obnoxious, drunken golfers. This made it difficult to relax. I definitely wouldn't go back there when the actual peak season begins!
