We chose this hotel due to its closeness to the airport in order to stay for one night only to catch our plane back to Ecuador the next morning. We arrived in Madrid at midnight from Rome and with just a phone call we had the transfer service from the airport to the hotel at no cost regardless of the late hour.
Everything in the room: beds, bathroom, ammenities, as well as the buffet breakfast and service were really good. This was really what we were looking for.

On my return from Europe I stayed one night at Crown Plaza at the Madrid Barajas Airport. The service provided by the hotel to pick us up at the airport was great! Friendly staff and ready to serve your needs as a traveler. The room was very comfortable, very clean, and with all the commodities in hand such as great shower, toiletries, and safe deposit box in room. They had as a courtesy water and soda in the refrigerator at no cost. The staff arranged for a wake up call and the transportation back to the airport was there on time with great service and attentive driver. Recommend the hotel to every traveler going to Madrid, Spain. I felt most welcome after a long day traveling!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by trolley Nice room, lousy food service
They gave me a nice room, but not upgraded to the Executive floor.
Returned a rental car to the airport & got the shuttle back - very easy.
Decided to eat in the restaurant - staff chatting in the kitchen more than serving - had to get them! Asked for a salad instead of fries- so they brought it with fries!
Breakfast - the hot stuff was cold, my colleague was given coffee with milk, despite not asking for milk.
Be aware - it's a good location for the airport, but not for going to downtown Madrid

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Tracey23 Room was fantastic, but location and breakfast were not
This hotel is called an airport property but yet it took almost 20 minutes or more to get to the airport, so it was not conveniently located. The room and bathroom were fantastic. The beds were comfortable, large and the bathroom was immaculate and had a separate bath tub as well as shower. The water pressure was great! It was a very nice size bathroom as well. There was free coffee and tea in the room along with some cookies, which was a nice welcome. The front desk check in was so fast, it was hard to interrupt and ask a question. It was very rushed.
There is nothing to do at night in this location. You need to take a cab to the closest mall in order to have eating options and things to do at night.
The Breakfast service was horrible. There was a line for everything. The toaster is so old fashioned and it takes forever to get a slice toasted! The orange juice tasted like water with food coloring. You have to get coffee and tea from a machine. Not a good breakfast buffet at all. There might have been one service worker that I asked for a pot of tea and was able to get one. Lucky me!

Not really up to the standards of Crowne Plazaa that I am used to but this may be more related to the Spanish expectation of service and the local area. Despite being billed as an airport hotel it is a good 30 minutes from Terminal 4 (they provide a free shuttle bus). Food is ok but not the range of Spanish food I had hoped for. There are no quality restaurants nearby but a fair number of cheap take away style places. The local area shows the result of the Spanish economic 'boom and bust' with a number of empty buildings nearby that make the local area feel a little threatening at night.
Staff are helpful, pleasant and all I met had good English language standard.
The room I had was a good size, comfortable bed with a desk that was nice to work at. I ordered room service one evening and it arrived quickly from a pleasant staff member who took the time to ask me about my day and seemed interested in why I was visiting Madrid.
In conclusion - average hotel, reasonable location, good staff.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cate310 Staff friendly and went out of their way to help
As an ambassador of ICHG I spend alot of time in their hotels and rarely write reviews, but feel compelled to after my recent stay in Madrid. The front desk manager on charge when we arrived -whose name unfortunately I did not get- went out of his way to help me witrh some rather odd requests. He was friendy, accomodating, helpful, and, in my opinion, went above and beyong my expectations as a guest.
The rooms were what one would expect from a Crowne Plaza-clean, comfortable and with all the mod cons.
All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful and the shuttle to the airport was ontime and more importantly warm at 7.30 am on a cold Madrid morning!
My only criticism would be the lack of signage to the hotel. Luckily we had Tomtom with us otherwise I'm not sure we would have found it. In fact when we got a taxi out of Madrid back to the hotel, the taxi driver told us that Calle Lola Flores did not exist so I was somewhat glad that we had already found the hotel in our own car the previous day!!
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel for business or pleasure as it is a great starting point to explore Madrid and its environs and my two children loved it

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by sd100 Excellent choice for airport hotel
this hotel is about as close to the Madrid airport as you can get so is an excellent choice for layovers or when you have a very early morning flight. Very comfortable and quiet. I especially appreciated the free shuttle to the airport that was *on time* even at 4 a.m., having stayed at many other airport hotels where the shuttle service was late, slow or even non-existant at such early hours. I will use it again.
