We stayed at this hotel as we had an early morning flight, room was a bit dated but very clean. We ate in the Irish pub within the hotel, nice meal and atmosphere. The transfers were excellent, hardly any waiting around. The only criticism is the fact that £50 was taken from my account as a holding charge against meals and drinks bought in the hotel. This wasn't explained at check in and we weren't asked if we wanted this facility It came to light when I tried to use my card to pay for the meal in the hotel and the card was declined as I had purposely allocated £50 in this particular account for sundries. On asking at reception I was informed that the hotel was holding £50 of my money, the next morning the money had still not gone back into my account as I couldn't use it in the airport. On return the money has gone back into my account. Overall, a pleasant stay and I would use the hotel again but would make sure that no holding money is taken from me next time..

Booked this hotel for 1 nights stay before our early flight to NYC.
Good rate, great shuttle service from train station and to airport; friendly welcome at reception.
Rooms are tastefully decorated - quite modern; very comfy bed which is great for the perfect nights sleep!
Only thing I found expensive was the bar food - we wanted to have a light bite in the evening but found it quite expensive and opted for something more lighter than hoped for.
Other than that a great hotel and would stay again!!

Flying out of Manchester early morning for our Holiday, meant we needed something close and affordable. Not disappointed, staff were excellent, the Hotel was clean and tidy. Perfect. Definitely recommend.

This is the second time we have stayed here and it well situated for the airport. The courtesy bus was quick and easy and no waiting around.
The room was comfortable and all amenities there for you.
We didn't eat at the hotel but had a couple of drinks in the bar which was comfortable.
I had an issue with the parking as the first time we stayed the car was left at the hotel. I had previously rang the hotel before booking and was informed that we could leave the car at the hotel, although we were informed later on arrival that this was an extra £3 per day. There is a company that removes the car from the hotel. However, the car was back at the hotel for us getting back and it had only been moved 1 mile. So need not have worried.

I regularly use the Crown Plaza as a stop over prior to and post outbound and inbound flights from Manchester and like most I have taken the service they provide for granted.
My last stay on Easter Sunday made me appreciate the quality of service they provide. After arriving early evening after a 19 hour journey from Asia and plunged into sub zero temperatures the transit vehicle arrived within minutes of my call for pick up. Check in was quick and efficient. Room as ever was warm, plenty of hot water for a nice soak and a comfortable nights sleep was had in that lovely bed. Staff as ever where polite and courteous and an excellent breakfast prior to drive north was had.
The staff even allayed my fears about my car starting after being left in the car park for 5 weeks in the cold weather by offering assistance should the battery be flat.

from the moment i was collected form the airport all the staff were superb i was invited to a drinks cocktail party, the food in the restaurant both for dinner and breakfast was excellent and i really enjoyed my stay

My wife and I needed to sleep at MAN airport as we got in late at night and had an early flight the next morning.
Transfers to and from airport were good and fast (even though the phone to call the hotel in the terminal is broken).
Hotel staff friendly.
Room nice, but confused by the fact that i booked a room with sofa bed for 2 people and they felt the need to make up the sofa bed. As the room was only for a few hours it was fine, otherwise it would have made a relative small room too small!
Sink in bathroom had crack in it.
Hotel staff noted all complaints on check out.

We stayed here on 30/3/13 for 1 night as we were flying early the next morning. I booked 2 executive rooms with 15 days parking. The rooms were clean, modern and comfortable. The beds were comfy too and the pillow spray a lovely touch. We had drinks and snacks in the club lounge which was great. We ate in the Irish bar that night which was excellent. Next morning we were up early for breakfast. Great to find a full cooked breakfast served so early on a morning, we went at 6, with friendly cheerful staff as well!!! The minibus transfer to the import was quick and efficient and when we were dropped off the driver gave us instructions to get to the check-in desks. We paid an extra £3 per night so that the car was left in the hotel car park. The form does say that it's approximately a 24 mile round trip if taken off-site. Coming back we phoned the hotel from the courtesy phones near the information desk and mini-supermarket. The girl told us which bus stand we would be picked up from and when we got there, 2mins,the bus was waiting.! Excellent hotel and service.

Booked an overnight stay at the hotel after travelling by train from Scotland prior to flying out on holiday from Manchester Airport. Hotel in perfect position and courtesy bus picks you up at station and dropped us off at Terminal building in time for our flight. Pre booked our breakfast the night before and this is recommended as it is a full buffet and definately sets you up for the day. If you pre book you pay £9.95 per person but if you go in for breakfast without prior reservation you pay £15. No brainer! Hotel staff can't do enough for you and will definately be back if flying out from Manchester Airport in the future.

I booked this hotel for 1 night prior to flying out of Manchester Airport. I arrived by train, and the close proximity to the train station is good, with a courtesy bus available free of charge.
I was however, quite disappointed with the finish and standard of furnishings in the room. The bathroom in particular looked like it had been installed/maintained by an amateur.
I expect better from Crowne Plaza, but possibly not from a budget hotel.
The bed was comfortable and clean.
Shower was a disappointing flow rate... and like most of the bathroom, looked tired.
This hotel needs an overhaul

Our second visit. On both occasions the chef in the English restaurant has come out to discuss what my wife (who is coeliac) could eat and offered to cook her anything suitable.

Very expensive not good value. All food poor apart from sampans restaurant lovely staff and good food! Breakfast staff asked for a table for 5 the women manager said no chance. No swimming pool even though website says yes and gym was rubbish.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Great way to start a holiday
We had an early flight from Manchester, and a 2 hour drive to the airport meant that we would need to leave home at 3:30 am. Instead, we travelled up in the evening - a very enjoyable journey as there was no time pressure - stayed overnight, and had a much more civilised start to the holiday. The hotel was great, nice rooms etc. Parking (leaving car at the hotel while we were away for a week) was easy and good value.

We always stay at Crowne Plaza when flying from manchester - it's literally minutes away from the terminals, easy to find and park up and you only wait a couple of minutes upon your return to be picked up and get to your car.

As always, the staff were pleasant and accommodating. The rooms was comfortable and having stayed at the hotel on numerous occasions, were of the standard expected. My only slight disappointment was the lack of the previously included sleeping remedies (homeopathic ones) which had always bee. A welcome treat.
The restaurant was as good as usual and the food of a high standard although perhaps just a little more expensive than they should be.
The airport drop off/collection service was excellent.
This really is the only hotel I would choose to stay at prior to flying from Manchester Airport. I look forward to staying again in August.

We have stayed here several times and it never disappoints!
We stay in a club room. The bed is so comfy and very large. We love the club lounge and between 6-8pm with free alcohol and tasty canopies.
Breakfast is what you want on a weekend. There is everything- full english, cereal, toast, fruit, yoghurt and pastries and juice.
Staff are very friendly and hospitable.
We will continue staying here and already planning our next stay.

Very good hotel and bar food good. Poor transfer from airport to hotel to pick up car. Second time this has happened. On phoning told that long wait. Having walked back after long flight with all luggage found two buses standing doing nothing. Told they were waiting for a flight crew to appear. The could have been to T2 and back in that time. Poor service for this type of hotel.

I have stopped at this hotel many times and it never lets me down. The staff are great, the gym is good and the rooms are very nice indeed. My Platinum priority club status is always acknowledged too.
Perfect place to stop before a flight. No need to say anything else, it's simply a top notch hotel.

We had to stay at the Crowne Plaza due to the bad weather on returning from Teneriffe and we new it would be great as always. The rooms are very well fitted out and comfortable.We had the Curry really good and well presented by friendly staff in the bar bottle of wine was not over priced for a hotel of this standard.The breakfasts are always first class and well presented.This is a hotel you could recommend to any one,The transfer to the terminal is well organised both leaving and returning.

Knowing that Priority Club customers do not get the recognition of being allowed to use the Exec Lounge as a Platinum member ( the hotel has its own arrangements with particular customers, so I was told a couple of years ago), we arranged a late arrival for earlyish departure the next morning. Helpful Reception staff briefing us on the shuttle. Good efficient shuttle service to the airport and we had a speedy collection back to the hotel , and a very helpful driver, on our return.However, directions to the freephone you are supposed to use to ring the hotel after flying back is not clear on the card you are given as the phone is not in the Luggage collection hall but through the next door near the Information desk.
The numbering and directions for the car parks which you need for parking and collecting your car could do with improving. I found it difficult to find Car Park 5 ( from where I had to collect the car) as it is side by side with 6, and the display of numbers for both are on at the very back wall, and Car Park 4 ( where I had parked the car) has one sign which seems to cover two big areas .
