We wrongly booked smoking rooms, and on entering could not bear the smell (our mistake) - the reception staff were able to shift our rooms with no hassle and were exceptionally helpful. Fantastic value for money considering the facilities in the rooms that are available. Dinner in the restaurant was also of fantastic quality. Highly recommended!! January 7, 2013

Comfortable room and beds, good food and a super ambiance for hotel lounge/bar areas. The service was good from reception with efficient and friendly check in and out, restaurant and bars too were of the same high standard. The hotel was busy but the staff were absolutely charming! Minor issue was queuing for shuttle bus to the airport in the morning - about 15 minutes. We were picked up swiftly on our return though. Our car was ready and waiting for us too. If you're flying from Manchester, this is the hotel to choose! January 7, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quiet with excellent food We were catching an early flight, so needed something to eat and a few hours sleep. The meal in the Malaysian restaurant was lovely and the service was excellent - I would be prepared to drive to Manchester airport just to eat there again. It was a long walk to our room from the lift, but that didn't really matter. The room was clean, reasonably large compared with other similar hotels, and offered tea/coffee making facilities as well as other extras. The hotel sent up toothbrushes on request since we live in two countries and had forgotten about the one night away from home. But the main positive surprise was how quiet the hotel was away from the main area. Having stayed in other airport hotels, I expected to be disturbed by airplane noise and other guests coming and going, but not here - excellent! The hotel courtesy bus also helped to make our arrival (from the train station) and departure (T1) smooth and trouble free. January 6, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Crown Plazza Shuttle Bus and the Elderly This hotel is ideally located and the facilities were ok. However, having now done this, I wouldn't actually do this again. The issue is their shuttle bus facility and I didn't like the idea that persons unknown take your car on a 25mile round trip to a secure carpark somewhere! I would stay in a hotel away from the airport and take your own car to a car park location. The hotel only have two 8 seater minibuses to take guests to the terminal so you could be in the queue for a while and if you have an elderly relative with you, the hotel can provide a mobile step to help get you on the bus which really is not ideal. On the way back they forgot to provide the step so we ended up having to lift an elderly relative onto the bus. So as long as your elderly relative can stand for up to 16minutes in a queue you will be fine. There was quite a bit of pushing and shoving with people getting a little angry which is not a great start to your holiday. January 5, 2013

I stayed in room 435 the room was lovely and big the bed was a kingsize, with lovely furniture. I arrived back from Canada at 6.00am so was really tried I booked in with out any fuss had a good sleep then went down for a lovely meal in the resturant. The breakfast was really good with pleanty to choose from. I have used this hotel before flying out to my vacations and leave the car there as well. It is cheaper to leave the car and stay over than it is to book a car park and take early morning flights. January 4, 2013

Although price was relatively high, however the buffet breakfast was very good which a selection of hot and cold food. Although collection from the airport and return to airport on the next day included a short wait, however it was efficient for our needs. Recommend this hotel to anyone. January 3, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good location and comfortable room Stayed here for 2 nights 20th Dec and again 29th Dec, first night was just a standard double as we were leaving very early the next morning, served it's purpose quite comfy and good value for the money. Second visit stayed in King Double, very good room with a big flat screen tv and very comfy bed. Ate at both restaurants in the hotel, the Asian was passable but nothing special. The main restaurant, least said was an enormous disappointment, high prices and terrible food, a share for 2 plate which has 2 or 3 slices of meat or cheese 2 chunks of dry bread and a small tub of piccalilli £13,45 a dessert that distinctly says Cornish clotted cream and they serve whipped cream, that is without a doubt breaking trade descriptions. In general a good hotel with fast turnover of clients due to its airport location but feel the restaurants are cashing in on the fact that most people are there just one night and they can get away with the rubbish they serve. Nice room, nice toiletries, comfy bed, quiet, good service at reception and prompt shuttle bus to collect me on arrival, although a short walk from Terminal 1 and 3. Free wifi would have been good. I also left something in my room which housekeeping went and found for me, and kept for collection. Much appreciated. January 3, 2013

We have stayed at this hotel many times and have always found the Hotel and staff brilliant. Very comfortable and clean rooms, excellent Breakfast choice before departure and great for leaving your car and picking up on return with the courtesy buses to take and collect you to and from the terminal. Even though it is beside the airport you cannot hear the planes. Great service to and from airport with courtesy car. Will certainly stay here again if I'm flying from Manchester. December 22, 2012

Breakfast great value for money, however, was not advised at checkin that if i booked the day before i could recieve breakfast at the discounted rate of 9.95 pounds........... Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Over night stay before flying out Very easy and professional check in proceedure, though the room allocated was at the far end of the hotel on the fourth floor. On leaving the next day after one of the staff commented on how far we had had to walk we requested if we could have a room nearer to the lifts on our return the following Satruday. This he did with no problem , though on our return we were only three rooms away from the previous room. Rooms very comfortable and we ate in Callaghans as we always do when staying at your hotel - service and food very good. Breakfast the following morning was extremely good with a wide variety of food on offer, though on our return the following Saturday a football team were having breakfast prior to our arrival in the restuarant and alot of the food was low or not available. The staff seemed to be rushed off thier feet and tried to accomodate our requests as quickly as possible, though these guests seemed to have no thought for anyone else staying there one example - drinking full bottles of water out of the bottle neck! We thoroughly enjoy staying at your hotel when ever we fly from Manchester with the car parking service provided very good. We look forward to our next stay with you in April hopefully with a room closer to the lifts and no football team. December 20, 2012

The room was fine and the food at the bar very good value and most enjoyable. We hadhad a meal on the aircraft and felt that a full meal would be a tad too much. Breakfast was enjoyed by both of us and the supervisor was particularly obliging. We enjoyed our stay once again! December 16, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service and ambiance. We have stayed at the Crown Plaza Manchester Airport on five occasions now and have always had an excellent experience here. From Reception to Transport the staff have been efficient, polite, friendly and have treated us as part of the family. The Bar staff particularly (behind the bar and in front of house) treated us as old friends. The Mother and daughter team in the Bar Restaurant are worth their weight in gold as hard working staff who always treat their customers well and with a smile. The rooms are clean, comfortable, well appointed and quiet(!) and provide an excellent atmosphere for a good nights sleep. All in all I would recommend this hotel for its service, ambience, friendliness and resonable prices. December 16, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Disturbed night The one thing you want when arriving late after a busy day and leaving early by air is a quiet night. Disturbed by the chaos of a fire alarm at 4.00 am. Staff I believe were trying to take a role call but no one could hear. One guest stood on a chair to silence the alarm. Shocked to find that in the dining room the breakfast bread was already laid out and going stale at such an early time. Not the best IHG hotel stay! December 16, 2012

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hotel of choice I've stayed here a few times now on business trips to the area. Although it's an airport hotel, there's no noise, and no sense of being on a conveyor belt. Staff very friendly and helpful, and I can't fault the service. Bar and restaurant excellent. The rooms have always been spotless, comfortable and well appointed. Very nice bathrooms. If I have required anything additional, it's been provided. If I have any quibble, it's the ridiculous, extortionate price for wifi access - when so many other hotels provide what is now an essential service for free, or 24 hours for a fiver, the rate here is inexcusable (£16 for 24 hours!?) - but otherwise, a great hotel December 14, 2012

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Service Check in was dissapointing.On checking staff was not helpful at all she did not even acknowledge I was a Platinum member.Whilst waiting to be checked in staff were having idle chit chat and joking around whilst check in que was getting bigger. Lighting in the room is poor for working. No told me about the benefits of being Platinum member. Also I thing the car parking charges are high. Other than that room service was excellent overall experiance was good would recommend to others making a point check in staff are poor. December 13, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A much treasured refuge After an 11 hour combination of flights and transfers we reached Manchester about 11pm. Rather than wait for the courtesy vehicle,we enjoyed walking to the Crowne Plaza for much needed fresh air and exercise. It took 10 minutes . The hotel staff were quietly efficient and we were installed in our comfortable quiet oasis within a few minutes of registering. Wonderful facility after a fraught jouirney . Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst Crowne Plaza ever I always stay in Crowne Plaza all over the uK and Ireland and they are always good. Buth this one has to be the worst ever. The first room smelt and I was moved. The second one was not much better. No offer of an upgrade, but did get free WiFi. Room service food was not good. Club lunge was on the ground florr - no good if you are on the 4th and want coffe id the room. Overall - this is my worst ever. December 9, 2012
