I booked for my sister and I to stay at the Crowne Plaza at Manchester Airport the night before an early morning flight and I also parked my car there for the duration of our holiday.
The hotel was easy to find, the staff were welcoming, the room was clean, the beds were really comfortable and we had a delicious meal at the Chinese restaurant - lovely way to start our holiday.
My sister arrived in Manchester by train and called the courtesy bus to pick her up from the station and bring her to the hotel but it took 40 minutes to arrive! The staff were very apologetic about this and gave us some complimentary drinks to compensate.
Check out was quick the next morning and it was a very short bus ride to the airport from the hotel.
Returning from holiday to collect my car was very easy and efficient and the courtesy bus that picked us up from the airport arrived very quickly.
Overall the Crowne Plaza at Manchester airport is a great place to stay and park, the staff are very helpful, efficient and friendly (Sophie in particular), the beds are really comfortable and the hotel has a very welcoming atmosphere - my sister and I would both stay there again.

Ideal for a pre-flight stay and leaving our car in their safe keeping. Easy walk to airport.
Sadly we were a little let down on this trip as we were not recognised as Platinum members initially so did not have access to the lounge area.

I was appalled to discover that this hotel did not offer free WiFi. In today's world where everything revolves around the internet, it is needed for both business and personal reasons, but this hotel did not provide this basic necessity. As my wife and I strolled on grounds of the hotel, we saw in large three foot lettering "Free WiFi", but this was an offering of a different hotel not fifty feet away from were we were staying and it begged the question why them and not us???? The "Crowning" touch was the hotels refusal to honor my IHG membership agreement, as other hotels have done, of free access to WiFi. As a result, we were delayed for more than three hours at the airport because we could not do our internet check-in the night before. This is simply unacceptable treatment.

Hotel convenient for airport - shuttle minibus is good, but all terminals can be reached by foot also.
Check in very good - pleasant and professional staff.
Room comfortable and clean.
Dinner was very good - food, service, surroundings were all very good.
Car parking worked very well with shuttle transfer to/from Terminal 2 being trouble free.
Pub not used, and breakfast not taken.

Everything was great about the Crowne Plaza, room - upgrade to club, (after I had asked being a plantinum customer) staff excellent....
only Issue Sampans resturant - service not good, food not brilliant and extremely overpriced - we stay here all the time for business (10 of us) and we made a point of saying we would not eat here again

This was a first for me at this hotel, we just stayed one night & used the car parking on site for 3 days. Check in was good with a pleasant young lady & everything went smoothly. The room was good, clean but not wonderful, the fridge has a remote lock on it which is triggered by reception. I was soon to find mine did not work which was a bit of a pain in the July heat, I wanted to cool the bottles of water I had, thankfully the ice machine worked which they have at every lift door on all floors.
I parked my car at a cost of £12-50 a night, the hotel provides a shuttle bus to the terminals and picks you up on your return which was very handy. We decided to use the Irish bar & get some food, but I was left confused as the staff could not agree if the kitchen was taking orders or not. Apparently due to an order of 27 by a party of guests, they were not taking anymore orders according to one bar person yet the other bar person disagreed, in front of me. I decided to leave them to it & we went for a Chinese, which was fantastic, the staff were great the restaurant was lovely and cool in the heat but the food was the best Chinese, Japanese, Malaysian I ever ate. At £60 for 2 including 1 alcoholic drink wasn't cheap but I'd say it was worth it.... just. The sleep was OK as the bed was fine, just the normal banging doors to put up with but then that's an airport hotel for you.

I have never ever received such a disappointing stay within
I have been a member of the rewards clubs once 2003 and stayed
In many of the hotels but
My wife and I will never return to this hotel.
We paid extra for the relax and unwind one nights stay and it was
far from relax and unwind, very unwelcome check in, twin beds,
No air conditioning but was supplied a fan which was useless.
Late in the evening we still could not receive our free movie
after about 15minutes of trying to contact reception they had not switched on the service. The bottle of wine supplied was just left
by the tv, not even a compliments card.
We was offered the use of the club lounge and this was appreciated
But still did not compensate for the disappointing stay.
My wife and I feel we would have received better service from
a budget hotel. Upon our return from holiday we picked up our car keys and exit was thrown across the desk not even handed to my wife.

Can't really fault which is why I return every week.
2 weeks out of 3, never got the little aromaththerapy complimentary 'though. Shame - I really like this nice touch.
Maybe room cleaners don't like me???

ROOM NOT AS REQEUSTED FOR A DISABLED PERSON. LEFT ON AIRPORT FOR 3/4 TO 1HOUR AFTER WE RANG FROM BAGGAGE ROOM WE GOT TO THE HOTEL TO FIND MY WIFES CAR WAS NOT THERE BUT IN ANOTHER CAR PARK WHICH SHE HAD TO BE DRIVEN TOO THEN BACK TO FETCH ME ON OUR WAY HOME WE DISCOVER THAT MY BLUE DISABLE CARD IS NOT IN THE FRONT WINDOW WHERE WE LEFT IT WHEN WE FIRST ARRIVED AT THE HOTEL AND PARKED IN A DISABLED PARKING PLACE JUST OUTSIDE ALL TOGETHER A VERY POOR PERFORMANCE BY THE STAFF AT CROWNE PLAZA MANCHESTER AIRPORT

We had a meal in the main restaurant in the evening of our stay and have to say that the service left much to be desired, We seem to have been ignored as though we didn't exist on several occasions. When it arrived the meal was O.K. We ere never asked if we wanted a dessert and after a few calls received a complimentary coffee.

First of all, I e-mailed the hotel several times before my stay with a few questions, I never received any answer. When I brought up this at check in, she said I'm sorry but I can't do anything now.
The room was very small and AC was slow. I then phoned down to Front Desk with a few other questions and they said they would phone back but didn't.
The hotel was very impersonal and the staff were only there doing there job, nothing more than that.
I won't receommend this to anyone and wont' stay here again.

We arrived at the hotel, front desk reception staff very friendly.
Our rooms were clean the bed comfortable and no noise.
The bar meals were excellent value for money and very well presented. The shuttle bus to and from the airport was excellent, although its only a 5 minute walk to the airport.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Very good airport hotel. Comfortable beds in a very nice room. Ten minutes to walk to terminals 1 or 3. Transport provided on a first come first served basis to all terminals and back. We just walked back as it was so near. Had a meal in the restaurant and it was the usual airport hotel prices but perfectly nice food. Cars are parked away from the hotel but returned the day before your return. Cannot fault this hotel at all.

An excellent location for T1 at Manchester and shuttle service to all terminals. They take the strain out off car parking and they are there with your car when get back, hassle free. Good comfortable rooms and beds. Service in the restaurant was bit chaotic and slow but the food is good when you get it. Yes we would stay there again without question.

My husband and I have stayed here numerous times when flying out of Manchester Airport and have always enjoyed our stay. This time I booked for one night on Wednesday 3rd July 2013 to take my friend to Las Vegas as a surprise 50th Birthday present so hubby wasn't with me this time.
Just going off the beaten track a little - I have always booked this hotel as they provided ' smoking ' rooms but since April 2013 I was told on check-in that this has now stopped. It didn't bother my friend or myself but if my husband had been with me it would have been a problem for him as he has progressive MS and is registered blind # can see blurred images #. As usual people who have disabilities are never thought about if they smoke, it is a huge effort to keep going outside ..... never mind, sadly if we return to Manchester Airport, Crowne Plaza wont be booked again because of this policy, we shall look elsewhere.
However the hotel is lovely, clean, with comfortable rooms and beds. The staff make you feel very welcome and the breakfast enjoyable.

Well worth the extra for the comfort and facilities.
Complimentary bar between 1800 and 200hrs and excellent complimentary continental breakfast available from 0630hrs.
Very convenient for the airport. 2 minutes to Terminal 3 by complimentary shuttle.

Ideal position- arrived early was able to park up and take the train into Manchester for the day to get our holiday off to a nice start.. Hotel clean and staff very helpfull and plesant during the day and when we returned in the early hours on return from our holidays. Bedrooms are not very big - but who needs a large bedroom for just one night sleep, the bed is so comfy!!!!
Have stayed quite a few times the night before our flight -this results in feeling relaxed before our flight .

i arrived at 1:30am after a long tiring flight, the transfer arranged from the hotel arrived minutes upon phoning, i stated as late check in can i have a late check out and was given an extra 2 hrs free of charge, a great start to my stay.
the room was clean, spacious, comfortable and surprisingly quiet being near an airport, it had all the necessities toileteries, bathrobes, towels, and even complimentary water, tea, coffee and biscuits which was a total surprise and very thoughtful
definately value for money
i will definately recommend to friends and family

We use the Crowne Plaza at Manchester Airport as it ensures that we are where we need to be before an early flight. Our recent holiday also involved a late arrival on return, so not wanting to start a drive home of several hours at 10pm we stayed overnight. The thought of a good night's sleep and a leisurely breakfast before setting off for home took all the hastle out of the end of the holiday and is something we will factor in to our plans in future. Breakfast was excellent, ensuring a stress-free journey and arrival home.

Just stayed the one night after flying in from France before flying to the US the next day. Room on the small side compared to Intercontinental but excellently appointment. Had access to the lounge which was comfortable but drinks charged which I am not used to. Had an excellent dinner in the restaurant and enjoyed using chopsticks!!! Disappointed that breakfast was charged as being a Platinum Ambassador this is normally free. No continental breakfast served in the lounge. Overall an enjoyable stay with excellent smiling efficient staff. Will be staying next next week on return from US. Thank you.

I was not recognized as a platinum ambassador member on check-in. I was told somewhat curtly after I queried the room & club access that upgrades were only given to platinum ambassadors, and I had to check for myself & return to the reception to protest my level..
I appreciate that the hotel was full (it probably always is at this airport location), but the room I finally got was not cleaned properly (previous guest had left carpet clearly in need of cleaning) and the bathroom walls were dirty.especially in the shower.
The duty manager explained that the system was incorrect to pick up my loyalty level, but that shouldn't be an excuse, all other Crowne Plazas have my room card ready having checked before I arrived.
Checkout staff were much better.

THIS IS OUR THIRD VISIT TO THIS HOTEL,WHICH IS VERY CONVIENENT FOR TERM 2 AT MANCHESTER AIRPORT.THE STAFF ARE FRIENDLY AND HELPFULL WITH NO PROBLEMS CHECKING IN OR OUT ,IN FACT THE HAVE AN EXPRESS CHECK OUT TO SPEED THINGS UP ON DEPARTURE.AGAIN WE FOUND THE ROOM VERY CLEAN WITH A LARGE AND COMFORTABLE BED ,FLAT SCREEN TV ,HOSTESS TROLLY AND COMPLIMENTRY B0TTLES OF WATER AND NUMEROUS TOILETRIES IN THE BATH ROOM.AFTER A GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP,WITH NO AIRCRAFT NOISE ,EVEN SO CLOSE TO THE AIRPORT,WE RECIEVED OUR EARLY MORNING 5 AM CALL BANG ON TIME.FREE NEWSPAPERS WERE AVAILABLE IN THE LOBBY,WE CANT COMMENT ABOUT THE EVENING DINNER OR BREAKFAST THIS TIME AS WE DID NOT HAVE TIME FOR BREAKFAST,BUT ON A PREVIOUS VISIT FOUND THE Near RESTAURANT ,NOT THE CHEAPEST BUT NO COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE FOOD.ALL IN ALL A GOOD CLEAN HOTEL NOT OVERPRICED AND WITH A FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE TO ALL THE TERMINALS EVERY TEN MINS OR SO THIS HOTEL OFFERS GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY AND WOULD RECCOMEND THIS HOTEL .

From arriving, staff made me very welcome. Friendly staff at all posts. Super comfortable bed, appreciated spray to enhance sleep. Room very quiet. Sampan restaurant calming and excellent food. We should have used the CP for a short night stay between flights. Due to an early night unexpected problem (Thank you very much Ryanair!) we had to return to the hotel and check in for another night.
The front desk staff were remarkable in helping us solving a last minute problem (IHG reservation center noted the hotel is fully booked)-their service, help and personal attitude were superb. Not only a room was made ready for us but staff also helped me with several other small, yet crucial, matters which helped me to avoid unnecessary high costs related to our airline tickets. Didnt use much of the hotels facilities or F&B, but the little we used in our short stay was great. Rooms are large, quiet and all togather the hotel is relatively close to all terminals (though the fact that the terminals are surrounded by service buildings prevent you from actually seeing the hotel or the CP sign until you are actually nearby) as well as to the train station.
