Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Just Right The service was great. Collin, the doorman, pleaseantly greeted us. Kay at recepetion was very helpful and sincere. They sent up a bottle of complimentary champagne and a thoughtful card to help us celebrate out 10 year wedding anniversary. Kay even booked our dinner for us. The whole checking in and out process was hassle free. The room was a touch small but clean and well serviced. The beds were comfortable, but pillows were a bit thin and soft for me. Shower head was good, but bath a little on the small side. We had the discovery package (I think its called) which included valet parking and breakfast. Well worth it I thought. The only negative for us was the coffee at breakfast. I was longing for a nice coffee in the morning after the night before. I was hopeful seeing a proper coffee machine and what appeared to be a barista. We ordered a coffee, which came out quickly but it was of a poor standard and neither my wife or I drank it. All in all, recommended. June 18, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Needs much improvement As quirky as it may sound, I have gotten used to the fact that as a Platinum Elite member of the Priority Club, whichever IHG chain hotel in the world I go to, the person at the Reception makes that special effort to greet and acknowledge your status, all except this one. I guess that was a good indication of what to expect. From leaky roofs and buckets on the carpet as you walked from the reception to the lifts, inconsistent newspaper delivery in the mornings, to being charged for internet usage on checkout when I had confirmed it was complimentary when I first made the reservation via Priority Club. The saving grace was really the location to my work conference. I think next time, I will try another IHG hotel like the Intercontinental or the Holiday Inn to see if the experience is any different the next time I'm travelling or staying in Melbourne. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Check out Check in On check in the booking details were taken incorrectly, we had to request the configuration we booked, additionally we were not provided with the option to upgrade which was on the original booking details. When we finally got the correct room etc we were offered a late checkout as priority club members which was great. Prior to departure we were unable to return to our room on 2 occasions as the late check out was not noted correctly and the room passes did not work, this was extremely frustrating having to go back to reception on 3 occasions.. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent.... I stay at the Crowne Plaza every month with my husband. Everytime the service is amazing and they are always happy to help with all our needs. The restuarant downstairs is beautiful. The food is always scrumptous. I highly recommend you to stay here. I would suggest the yarra river room. You can sit on your seats with a beverage and look at the casino when the fire balls go off. June 16, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by great location This quiet and comfortable hotel, ideally located close to Crown Casino, Convention Centre ,Etihad Stadium and the city, overlooking Southbank and the Yarra River on the crossroads for tram transport close to train stations. Large rooms with quality fittings. Breakfast is very good, dinner limited menu, not much imigination, typical bistro fare. Happy hour 4-6pm each night, relaxing atmosphere. June 16, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by BREAKFAST Breakfast is always good value here, but twice now I have been shown to table and after finishing first amount of food have got up to get more and my table has been cleared and new people put there.If there could be a system of keeping that table for length of your breakfast would be handy. Coffee and tea serving is very slow,sometimes finishing breakfast before you get it.Musical tables isn't fun at that time of morning. June 14, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Parking fees I thought the parking fee for overnight parking was a little expensive.The location is very good, close to convention centre , casino and easy to be able to get around. The decor could be improved ..the atmosphere was a little dull...some bright paintings in the rooms would lift the decor. For some people it may feel "gloomy". The parking attendant was very friendly and helpful as we're the reception staff. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay. June 14, 2013
