Enjoyable

We stay at the Crowne Plaza in Melbourne regularly and always feel like we are staying with friends despite this being a big chain hotel franchise.

The location is great with a tram stop at the door and a short walk to Crown Casino which has restaurants, cafes etc. which proved convenient for snacks and coffee at night time.

We attempted to order room service breakfast but the menu selection was lacking and highly over priced but there are many restaurants close by which proved a better alternate to eating in the hotel.

Staff are always helpful and friendly and we can certainly recommend staying at this property we will be returning again next year.

Convienent location

The room was ok.
4 guests staying, 2 drinking glasses and 3 towels upon arrival.
We paid for a river view room only to find the windows were disgustingly dirty, could hardly see the view through the thick amount of dirt....so very disappointing to say the least.

Needs improvement in the customer service front.......

I arrived in the Crown Plaza @ 12 midnight from the airport after a long flight, tired and also your reception being on 2nd floor doesn't help either. After reaching the reception, she checked me in within 2 mins and gave me a room - on the 2nd floor! I had to return to the reception again within few mins with my luggage - as the phone was not working in that room and also the room was claustrophobic! I have NEVER complained like this EVER in my last 20 years of travel. The lady at the reception ignored my phone not working request and said that is the sort of room I have paid and reserved for adn she can't help! So I said in that case I want to cancel my registration nad go elsewhere. She was ready to cancel!! Then I insisted on speaking to the manager - when Vinod came - and he offered me a room on 3rd floor - but instead of King bed - a double bed - I agreed since I was alone. When I went into the third floor - the room was dirty - toiletries had been used by someone, including towels. There as a coffee mug which had been used and sugar & coffee powder sachets opened and thrown on floor + a NAIL (yes a NAIL) on the floor - I have taken pictures of them, if you want me to send it! Then I called Vinod - he initially thought I was one of those complaining type - so I invited him to come and see the room for himself. When he apologised and offered me room 0903! Finally I reached my room at 1.30 am!

Great atmosphere and comfy sleep

Been here more than a dozen times and have always enjoyed my stay here, would gladly recommend to stay in this ambient atmosphere. Service is great and staff is genuinely helpful.
