Very unpleasant stay

By

30 October 2014

The staff was short and impatient, both at check in and check out. We were told at check in we would get a call when the room was ready, we never received a call.

We ate dinner hotel restaurant and the bartender/server was incredible rude three different times. When we went to sit down he yelled across the bar that we couldn't sit at that table. Then when he took our order we asked for the onions and peppers to be on the side of the sandwich, he said that the cook probably wouldn't do that. That we had to get it the way it was. And continued to be extremely rude about it. Then when he came back to tell us the chef would cook the onions and peppers separate he said "But it will be awhile, because there are a lot of other people ahead of us in the restaurant. So don't expect it for awhile."

The room smelled musty. And numerous things needed updating.

Friendly service and great location.

By

This hotel was a great disappointment. Although the people were friendly and the location was good, the hotel was terrible. It was dirty, the toilet ran constantly, most all of the refrigerators had been removed (my room had no refrigerator which I was counting on for food and supplements), and ice machines on most floors were out of order, so I had to run up two floors every time I needed ice (which was often because there were no refrigerators). Of all the hotels I have stayed in, this was the worst. Some other cheap motel would have been just as good, unfortunately.

This hotel desperately needs to be updated and cleaned. The rooms had mold and broken A/C. Most ice machines were broken and couldn't find bottled water anywhere in the hotel. Many rooms are noisy from the freeway. Food quality in the restaurant is very poor. Must take elevator to the first floor as stairs do not go to the first floor, only to an emergency exit, so must wait for elevator that is old and can only hold 10 people, so during busy conferences you wait a long time. The hotel is currently under construction. Hopefully they will be addressing many of these issues.

Stay Away

By

27 October 2014

Wow, by far one of the worst hotels we've ever visited. Without the slightest bit of exaggeration, here is what we encountered:

- Room #1 - Asked for quiet room since we would be working long hours at a conference, was told we had a quite room. Got to room and it was over freeway and very noisy. Contacted front desk and they agreed it was a noisy room and moved us to another room.
- Room #2 - Dropped stuff of and had to leave right away but it smelled musty we asked them to please try and freshen up. When we got back it still smelled and after about 10 minutes I got a terrible headache. I started to look around and the door around the bathroom had a large crack and mold was growing in it and a large spores on top of the door (see pictures). Mold spores were also seen above the bed in corner of wall and ceiling. I believe it was room 910. They moved us to a new room.
- Room #3 - better but walls and paint were a mess and just felt dirty. The air/fan would not adjust and thermostat display was not readable. TV would not stay on and channels would get fuzzy and we were unable to get HBO.
- Maid service - Day 1, made bed only, left towels hanging in bag on door and nothing else was cleaned. Let front desk know.
- Maid service - Day 2, made bed and cleaned bathroom. Desk and tables next to bed were not wiped down...ever. And so went the rest of the week.
- Ice Machines and vending - Here it got funny, get in the elevator in the evening and you would see other guests riding up and down the elevator stopping on different floors looking for ice machines that worked and then sharing that a couple of stores had working machines. They never worked so we would just go to the restaurant for ice for which they did not appreciate having to provide. Our Coke vending machine did not work so we were unable to get bottled water.
- Restaurant - Went there once, had a hard time finding a clean table even though they had been reset with new silverware and napkins. Food, yikes. Service, heard some guys going crazy (while I was getting ice) b/c staff would ignore them while chatting away at the bar. My service was a little better but not by much.
- Customer service - Here I have to give some credit, Mary Ann was kind and did everything she could to try and help us when she obviously had little to work with. Same with maintenance man who tried to fix our TV. Others, not so good, when asking why are fridge was missing, I was told "some rooms have them other not, our not, there are no more" Tone was hostile and that is where the conversation ended. It was clear that the employees did not like being there.

Because of the conference at the convention center, there were no alternatives to switch hotels. Having stayed in hundred of hotels, I would have to say that this one was in the bottom five, the others being rural no choice hotels. Highly recommend avoiding this property at all costs.
