Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good facility but too expensive Positive: Clean, tastefully decorated, excellent location for my purposes, quite, good light blocking shades, front desk was helpful. Negative: Parking was a bit of a hassle and expensive even with discount, expensive internet connection. I expect those things to be included in the price when paying so much for a room. May 10, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great service and staff! I always enjoy staying at the Crowne Plaza Northstar when in Minneapolis. Anita at reception is always especially friendly and helpful and remembers me every time I come in - even when it has been months since my last stay. Due to my positive experiences at this location, I've begun staying at Crowne Plazas more often. May 8, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good location Our stay at the Crown Plaza was good. The beds were comfy and the room was clean. We didn't get our promised sleep program items and felt weird asking for them. Cruddy that you have to pay for parking and it was really hard to use the sky way system. We got lost two times. Better signage would def help, but that's not the CP's fault. We did end up taking a taxi back because it was so confusing. We did have to call for directions on getting to the hotel. We kept circling blocks around downtown and couldn't find it. The friendly desk people helped us out. If we go to another Target Center event, we'd probably stay there again. April 22, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel Propoerty in Downtown Minneapolis Very nice up to date clean Hotel property in downtown Minneapolis. Friendly staff that always treats me great as a Priority Club member with space available upgrades. Walking distance to all downtown theaters, restaurants, shopping, Target Center and the Twins baseball park. My 1st choice when visiting Mineeapolis. April 19, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Expected more First, I would like to say that the staff at the Crowne were all very nice and helpful and made my stay there better than it would have been without them. I do not do a lot of traveling and did not know I needed to inquire about a fridge or internet ($25/day and $10/day) for my room. I was attending a nutritional workshop in the hotel and felt the accomodations I feel did not work well with our group and feel that we were a little mislead that they would. I felt one lady working the front desk was particularly aggressive and unresponsive to the concerns I was trying to verbalize to her. I would say if someone is looking to be in and out of Minneapolis in a night, stay here, I could see nothing wrong with that however, if you are looking for a comfortable stay that is accomodating to all clients' needs, find another place, probably not downtown. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel Iv'e stayed at most of the larger hotels in downtown minneapolis and this hotel has the complete package for guest. There maybe higher rated hotels but all have something lacking or an added expense. ( i.e discounted rate but 30 valet parking. no resturant/ lounge onsite, poor customer service, inconvient location# This hotel does not have valet but has an attached garage with elevator to your floor #11 dollars for every 24 hours), lounge in lobby, great customer service , comfortable room, updated t.v's and furniture. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Escort Services at the Nortstar Downtown This place had super thin walls that allowed my family and I to hear EVERYTHING that was going on with the woman and her numerous partners next door to us. We called the front desk (as did several other guests) about the noises and loud music that were going on in this room, but their adventures never stopped. They should have been asked to leave the premises with what was going on in that room. We also had to use the stairwell as the elevators were so slow. We were so lucky to find several piles of human excrement and used toilet paper that didn't seem to be an impending need to fix at this hotel. We will NEVER stay here again! March 30, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable Bed Sorry, but the food was awful. We had room service almost every day for the whole week and not one thing was decent. It was fast, I can say that, but the food was awful. My room mate ordered medium well hamburger and it came bloody, fries were always cold. pizza was terrible. no real variety. Every time we ordered there was something wrong...it was maddening. Also, I was on crutches and asked for a wheelchair, the lady at the desk said if she couldnt find one she would get us one from another hotel......I got a letter under the door saying I could rent one from one of the following places.....bummer. I couldnt go to the food court on crutches very well, so our eating choices were very slim. We also had a very hard time getting the cart up and down the curb in the parking ramp to bring in and out our luggage..No one helps and the curb was steep-we struggled. When we asked for help she said "the carts are in the lobby". We also found candy wrappers behind the bedside table in the room when we checked in, hair on the counter & in the tub, Dark black longer hair...we are both blondes with short hair. Beds and pillows were astounding...good comfort. Beds made very nicely and tight, clean. That was great. March 26, 2013
