Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Needs some work This location has many things going for it in terms of location and price but my room experience was not what I expected. Without going into detail, my room needed a deeper cleaning and replacement of some of the amenities. My room simply didn't smell clean and indeed had a bad odor in the armchair. In other words, it's showing it's age and needs a facelift. August 25, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Good Restaurant and Maintenace The room was overpriced compared to others that we have stayed at that were comparable. The pool had no towels, but maintenance brought some. The refrigerator did not have a freezer (we needed one) it was replaced by maintenance with an older model but it was not very good. No continental breakfast. Health club was closed. August 22, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Noisy and exposed wires, really? Stayed here for a two day conference. People in adjacent rooms partied until well into the night, running up the halls, slamming doors. 3 calls to the front desk and nothing was done, no one came up, don't know if they called, but they obviously didn't care too much. Hair dryer was literally smashed, exposed heating element and wires just hanging out, but it was secured in the wall mount...imagine my surprise when I went to use it...Everything else was nice, comfy bed, if I could have slept, comfy pillows. It'd be nice if they provided breakfast, but that's one more way to snake money from you on top of the cost to stay... August 21, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Very Dirty Room Not impressed at all. There were several broken fixtures in the room of which all were reported to front desk. Help seemed apathetic. Front desk also appeared to be grossly understaffed. I never did get a receipt (is that now common practice?) Next time I will find a cleaner and friendlier hotel. August 20, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent front desk staff The front desk staff were excellent, after a long drive we called and asked if it was possible to reserve a room one night earlier. The gentlemen at the front desk arranged that and made it so we could have the same room for our 4 night stay, thus avoiding a room change. The front desk staff also were very kind when they allowed another family member who had been traveling all night to make our Mom's funeral to check in early. The staff including the Manager Mike and a sweet girl at the desk named Lauren and also a gentlemen named Mike were amazing. August 14, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Crowen Plaza Monroe The staff was very helpful, the room was very clean. The furniture could use some updating and was not very comfortable. There was an issue with the water one morning and I could not take a shower before going to work. However it was back on when I returned around 8 am. I have another trip planned for next week and will be staying at the Monroe location again for a week. I would recommend this hotel for future travels. August 12, 2014

However, waking up to find the lobby trashed with beer bottles and a very unattentive staff just leaving it that way is way too much. The staff at the front desk was excellent although the wait times were very long to get service when there was a problem, they tried very hard. The furniture in the room had major chips and could be updated. The food was good at the hotel but at times, the service was poor. The pool needs a complete renovation, it was a dirty area, old furniture with dirty cushions, standing water everywhere. July 20, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Unacceptable customer service We didn't expect everything to be perfect, but every problem was met with an argument rather than a solution. Very simple requests such as the need for a cart, new towels, or bedding were met with a negative response. Our room keys never worked more than once and had to be reprogrammed four times. Each time we were told "but the computer says they work" instead of "We're sorry and will take care of that for you.". That was the attitude of the staff for everything. "But..." or just "No, sorry." In all my years of travel I've never received such poor customer service and this was in my home state. Embarrassing. July 16, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Forsgate and all other Brides Beware - Worst Hotel Ever!!! Nasty, nasty, nasty - the people at the front desk, the managers, everyone working there. No one knows what's going on. Here's a list of how my experience at Crowne Plaza Monroe went: - My guests called to book rooms, they were told I did not have a wedding block and no one would take their reservations -Guests credit cards were charged that should not have been -I was told they no longer had the bridal suite booked for my hotel -my wedding party (including mother of the bride and the best man) waited in line 40 minutes PER PERSON on my wedding day (talk about losing ALL of our time for pictures) -my hotel baskets were not given out to my guests. When I questioned why, the front desk told me I needed to put individual names on each basket for them to do it right -they spelled my last name wrong on all of the posted signs and then told me and my family that I spell it that way -I spent 2 hours on two separate days listening to the arrogant manager supposedly fix everything and set up my rooms the "correct way" only to have none of it correct when guests went to check in. -They have a bar that's open until 1:30am and shuttles were good. They did give some compensation (only after guests insisted on it) since they were so terrible (and they know it), but nothing was worth dealing with them. If you want to deal with months of hassle, then by all means books with this unorganized, poorly managed, poor excuse for a hotel. July 11, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst Experience Ever!!!! This stay was part of a wedding party block. Rooms were not ready. Guests were treated poorly. Check in took 45-90 mins for each guest. Gift baskets supplied by bride were not distributed to guests. Bride's name was spelled incorrectly, causing guests to be told there was no such wedding booked at hotel when they were trying to reserve a room. This led to many problems including guests being charged wrong rates. Rude front desk staff July 9, 2014

The burgers in the Yogi Bar & Grill were delicious. We didn't have time to use the pool but it looked inviting. Next time. July 7, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not Bad After going through the parking lot and walking the sidewalks with weeds coming out, I was pleasantly surprised that the hotel was not as bad as I had originally thought. The place is clean and comfortable enough to visit again, but I would not hit up the navagation system when driving to find a Crown Plaza. I did get what I paid for, but nothing WOWed me.
