Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by KansaiTX solid value - good service
I have stayed at this property 3 times over the years. The staff is attentive and shuttle service to the airport very convenient. Hotel quality is similar to what you would find in US locations. Beds are smaller as you find in most Japanese hotels. Also beds very firm. Hotel lobby area a "ghost town" late evening/early morning. A nice bonus, though, is a good-sized Family Mart store in the lobby to buy snacks, a late nite beverage, etc.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by DongBeiHu For a transit night only
I found this hotel very basic compare other Crown Plaza hotel standard. No employees to help us with our luggage for check-in & check-out... No special desk to check-in for Platinum member, and need to make the line... The room is basic too. It's can be good for a transit night, to depend how much you pay. If you have a good price, it's can be good for a short term.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by TEXASOILMAN Not exciting, but efficient
I stay here 2-3 times a year on overnight layovers, not for the atmousphere, or the ambiance but because it is clean, efficient, and reliable, and never throws me any unwelcome surprises which are not bad qualities in an airport hotel.
The downside is that it is quite possibly the dullest hotel experience you are likely to have in your lifetime, This place has no character at all, it is generic as a plain white wrapper, the staff is ultra professional but stiff and boring as they come, if you get one to crack a half smile you will be doing well.
The rooms will seem small but they are actually large for Japan, by far the largest rooms of any hotel in the Narita airport vacinity, the beds and pillows are of good quality and very comfortable.
You will have twice as many english tv stations as any other area hotel and also more bathroom ammenitys, and free internet for gold members and above.
Another big plus is that the rooms have individual tempurture controls unlike many hotels throughout Asia that are centraly controled. If you have ever laid awake in a hot stuffy hotel room in Asia before you will greatly appreciate this feature.
The place is quiet at night, dead quiet, almost too quiet if that is possible. The food is of good quality but boring, no flare at all, I would bet my paycheck that the food selections on the breakfast buffet layout have been exactly the same for the past several years, it is always a mirrior image of my previous visit.
They have the most efficiant shuttle service in the business, you could honestly set your watch by it.. Bottom line, if you are just on an overnight stopover and want a quiet clean place to sleep that will get you to and from the airport hassle free this is a proven safe bet, If you are vacationing and looking for a fun and vibrant place to stay, keep on looking because this aint it.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by SetoTravel Better than average lobby, mix bag for the guest room
Interior decor of the room: Standard ANA Crowne Plaza Japan sets. Lush. A bit worn desk and wallpapers.
Lobby area: Stylish and interesting sets of tones.
Amenites: Aroma, bath powder, heatable eye mask - standard sets for ANA Crowne Plaza Japan chains - excellent
Exterior appearance: Stylish and attractive building.
Outside view from the room I stayed at: Highways, parking lot, forest, airport...lots of open space - average
Services: Excellent - highly trained staffs.
Price value: A bit overpriced
Room size: Approximately 25 square meters size - OK.
Bathroom amenities: Excellent fragrances of shampoo, conditioner, liquid body soap and body lotion
Bed: King bed soft - very good
Location: Near Narita Airport. OK.
Noise insulation: Poor. This is where the renovation should be prioritized.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by early Worst ever!
They say things happen in threes. This was the second time I've stayed at the Narita Crowne Plaza and there definitely will not be a third time!
This was my worst hotel experience ever. Period!
The first stay a couple years back was not great but not so bad to be terribly memorable. It's a real shame that one particular hotel in the brand provides such sub-par service as it stains the whole chain's reputation.
The ONLY reason -that I can fathom- anyone would stay at a hotel in Narita is to get to the airport very early the next morning. I had a morning flight that was so early a train in from Tokyo would not get me to the airport on time and was required to stay overnight in Narita. Upon check-in, I asked the staff about reserving the shuttle bus to the airport for my morning flight and was told that the shuttle bus did not begin until, I believe, somewhere around 6 or 6:30 am. I had to be at the airport for check-in around 5:20 or 5:30 which would make me very late for my flight! "OK", I thought...I'll get a taxi. "Sorry ma'am", I was told, "...we can't get taxis here that early!" (there was a typhoon reportedly on the way in from the south-west) but...this is Japan. They get typhoons and there are PLENTY of taxis available in this land!
I guess I was, mistakenly, under the assumption that an "airport hotel" should be in the business of providing not only accommodation but also transportation to the airport for its customers. If flights leave at 6am, the shuttle service should be in line with providing transportation to the airport by 5 am for check-in. Why on earth else would anyone STAY at an airport hotel? That evening, the staff couldn't quite understand that simple premise. And, it seemed almost that there was something fishy going on from the hotel staff's perceived lack of comprehension of me needing to get there for my flight, lack of co-operation...almost like they were hiding something. It was weird.
After much discussion, frustration and waiting, I was informed that the hotel would, in fact, provide an early morning shuttle to customers who had to be at the airport for 6 am flights...there ended up being about 6 or 7 of us in total on that early morning shuttle. I find it hard to believe they've never run into that situation before. Management at this branch really needs to step up its service.
Although I'm a Priority Club member, I'll never use the Narita Crown Plaza again.
