Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by beds and linen The beds were very comfortable and linens and pillows were very cozy. Firm and soft pillows were on the bed/in the room to choose from. October 19, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service great stay, hotel is in a great area . room was nice and more then adequate to our needs the staff was FANTASTIC helpful kind & professional. October 19, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Clean, Nice, Convenient An older property, but very nice. One of the best hotel beds I've ever experienced--slept extremely well. Was concerned about the noise on adjoining Bourbon Street, but it was no problem. The on-site Bourbon House restaurant provided probably one of the Top Five meals I've ever eaten--contrary to the usual "adjoining the hotel restaurant". October 18, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel This is a great hotel in the heart of the French Quarter. The staff are friendly and helpful October 18, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by concier he was out standing and very helpful the maid service was below average and we had to ask them in the hall to finish the cleaning and refreshing toiletries. We were there on a conference so did not get to enjoy to great location as much as I would have liked October 17, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Absolutely Fantastic We stayed at the Crowne Plaza for one night after returning from a cruise. We have stayed in New Orleans many times but this was our first time staying at the Crowne Plaza. From the moment we pulled up to the hotel (which was well before check in time) we were greeted by friendly staff. I didn't think we would be able to check in but the front desk told us that it would be no problem and quickly checked us in. Our room was amazing, it was well decorated and spotless. The location of the hotel is just perfect, it's within walking distance to everything. We loved this hotel so much we have already booked a room for our next visit to the city in February 2013. You will not be dissappointed in this hotel or the staff. Great job everyone at the Crowne Plaza. October 17, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Staff This was our first time staying at the Crowne Plaza in New Orleans. I would recommend the stay! The staff was friendly. By the time I checked in and made it to my room, I received a call from the front desk making sure that my room was comfortable and asked if there was anything that I needed. I felt welcome and my next visit to New Orleans will be at the Crowne! October 17, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best location The Crowne Plaza on Canal & Bourbon street is THE best location. We had all day meetings going on for 3 days and it was nice to get out to the best restarants right there at the hotel. Red Fish Grill, ACME Oyster House, and even the food at the hotel is what you can expect for great New Orleans cuisine. I had a blast there and would come back for a visit. October 15, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Location and staff The location, room service, staff and beds were wonderful! The well appointed rooms made for a comfortable stay. October 12, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable accomodations, good service & location, some issues Overall good place to stay. Room was large and comfortable. The location is perfect - Bourbon and Canal. The staff (concierge, front desk, bellman, valet) was very friendly and helpful. The gym is large; a good place to work out. Issues we encountered: - pool was stagnant and looked dirty during open hours - ants in the room, on tables and bathroom - loud (in the hallway you can hear all conversations because the door is not fully sealed; and outside because Bourbon is right there) The noise really didn't bother us as we were not in our room often and we knocked out when we got back to the room at night. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by our last stay on Easter My trip was shortern because of change in plan, we could only stay 1 night instead of 3. We had been there a year before for 6 days on it was great. We checked in the day before Easter 2012 and went out for 4-5 hours. When we got back the room was very hot, I called the front desk. They send a person up right away to check the A/C it was not cooling and after a hour you moved us to an suite and had you people move out luggage. We were able to us the breakast room next door for our comp Easter Breckfast. What a great stay, I have told all my friends going to New Orleans to stay with you. Class A hotel and wonderful staff October 7, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Attitude of Staff I am not from New Orleans, but had always heard of the attentive and warmth of the culture there. What I experienced at the Crown was quite the opposite on the day I checked out. I never really needed to interact with staff during the majority of my 14 day stay. My day started quite early and worked long hours. However they all seemed pleasant until my check out experience. I did not use a vehicle during my trip, except for three out of the 14 days. My friend loaned my his vehicle for some longer distance commutes to temporary 3 day project. I valet parked my friend's car at the Crown Plaza for the 3 consecutive days I used it. As I left for work the morning of the 3rd day, I mentioned to the valet parking attendant that I would not be returning with the vehicle. My friend would keep the car at the end of the day and drop me off at the hotel. The attendant indicated I needed to tell this to the front desk so they wouldn't automatically keep on charging me for parking, as I only used the parking service for 3 days. Following his guidance, that evening, after being dropped off at the hotel, I stopped by the front desk and explained my [no longer needed] parking arrangement. The young lady at the front desk looked up my name in the computer using my room number. After a few seconds and a couple of key strokes she replied "very well Mr. Huezo, you're all taken care of". As anyone would I rested assured that I was set. Well, a few days later while checking out, I noticed the outrageous "extra" charges on my bill attributed to 8 days of "valet parking fees". I figured it was a simple oversight and would sort it out downstairs. Easier said than done. I explained my situation to the young lady at the front desk and she replied in a condescending and skeptical tone. Almost insinuating I was trying to "get over" on the hotel by not paying my parking fees. I calmly explained all that had occurred, including the fact that one of the hotel employees [valet attendant] had suggested I remind the front desk to stop the recurring valet parking fee if I discontinued the use of parking services. She was not having it. She kept requiring me to provide "proof" of my "stoppage of service" while giving me ample amounts of "attitude" [rolling of the eyes backwards and smacking of lips]. After it was said and done, the front desk attendant had wasted over 25 minutes of my morning waiting for her to verify hard copy records (books), speaking with valet attendants and supervisors. I think that what made this experience the worst is that I was in my uniform, about to go to a final project meeting at my command office and was not expecting a delay that morning at check out. I am a United States Marine, and we pride ourselves in many things. Among them being truthful and dedicated. That day, because of the mediocre attitude and poor customer service, I arrived late to my commander's meeting thinking I had made a mistake in staying at the Crown Plaza in New Orleans. I truly hope this was an isolated incident and would hate to think the Intercontinental Hotel Group allows such treatment of its customers, regardless if they are patronizing their properties on pleasure or while serving one's nation. Sincerely, Master Sergeant C.R.H. United States Marine Corps October 6, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Noisey The room was comfortable and clean. The staff was helpful ..... BUT: Bourbon Street was very noisey each night, even from the 7th floor; the meeting rooms off of the lobby were noisey ... and the soda machines throughout the hotel hardly functioned. The Astor Crowne Plaza Hotel on Canal Street is not a preferred hotel for me for any future visits to New Orleans. October 5, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Location. Great Experience. At first I was worried that my room overlooked Burbon Street, and that I would not be getting any sleep. But the room was actually pretty quiet, and I did not need to use the foam earplugs that they provided. The staff were friendly and very helpful with directions and a couple special requests. Some of the best service I have ever received at a hotel. The bartender in the lobby was was very friendly as well. The location was perfect. Everything in the French Quarter was within walking distance, and it was nice to come back from a night out to a quiet, classy, clean hotel. This was my first trip to New Orleans, but when I come back (and I will if just to eat at Willie's Fried Chicken Shack) I will stay here again... no question. October 5, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy in the Big Easy This hotel was located conveniently to everything, food, Burbon Street, movies, shopping, drug store, casino. Everything was Easy to get to. Staff at hotel were all Easy going..no rudeness encountered. All requests were handled with ease. I CAN'T WAIT TO RETURN!!! October 5, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by NOT VERY IMPRESSED THERE WERE MANY THINGS THAT WENT WRONG WITH OUR STAY AT THIS PROPERTY. 1) WE HAD ISSUES WITH OUR DOOR FROM THE VERY BEGINNING, THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE MECHANICS OF THE DOOR SO EVERYTIME WE WOULD COME BACK TO THE ROOM MANTENANCE WOULD HAVE TO COME AND TAKE THE DOOR APART TO LET US IN THE ROOM. ONE OF THE TIMES BEING LATE AT NIGHT AND WE HAD TO SIT IN THE HALLWAY FOR OVER AN HOUR WHILE THEY TRIED TO GET US IN THE ROOM. 2) ONE TIME WHEN WE WENT TO THE CLUB LEVEL MEMBER AREA FOR ORDERVES, LIKE 30 MINS BEFORE THE TIME FOR THEM TO STOP SERVING FOOD, THERE WASN'T ANY FOOD OUT AND THE LADY WORKING TOLD ME SHE WASN'T ORDERING ANYMORE FOOD TO BE BROUGHT UP. 3) THEY TRIED TO OVER CHARGE ME FOR PARKING BUT THAT DID GET TAKEN CARE OF AFTER WAITING OVER 30 MINS FOR SOMEONE TO TAKE CARE OF THE MATTER. OVERALL, I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS PROPERTY. September 29, 2012
