Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overall experience was great Housekeeping was excellent, keep the room beautiful. Tyler and Lindsey at the Lobby/Oyster Bar was the best. The only sad part was - when I went to the front desk and ask for a room service menu for morning breakfast(due to leaving that next morning) I was asked for my room number and was told by two different individuals that they would bring it to the room, this request was given around 6pm by 10pm nothing - so left the next morning without breakfast to catch my flight. :-( June 7, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Hotel!! Best place to stay in New Orleans, close to all the action!!!! June 7, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Crowne Visit June 6/4/13 The Crowne on Canal Street is always a top shelf experience. One item I would recommend would be more chaise lounges at the pool. There are over 30 chairs & only 5 chaise lounges. Each day there were over 20 people around the pool & most were complaining about the lack of chaise lounges. Most people prefer to lay on a chaise when in the sun. June 7, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect location You can not ask for a better location to see all the places worth seeing in NOLA. Right on the corner of Bourbon & Canal, the streetcar is across the street and it's a nice, brisk walk to Jackson Square and to the casinos and restaurants. The only things that make the experience less than perfect were the rather small swimming pool on the 3rd floor roof and not having a free breakfast. The front desk staff is more than accommodating, friendly and efficient. I would not hesitate to stay there again next time I visit my favorite U.S. City! June 6, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Sink was clogged up and AC filter filthy! When we first arrived the sink was clogged up with hair and dental floss. The air was stuffy so my husband took the grate off the front and not only was the filter absolutely filthy, the entire unit was full of dust! When we complained they told us they used to change the filters on a regular basis, but many have not been changed in a couple of years! They could save some dollars on their electricity bill if they had a maintanence schedule for changing them for starters!! There was rust around the bathtub drain and the safe was ready to fall out of the wall....not sure it offered much security. June 6, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by no complaints here Very good experience. Staff were polite and professional. The room was really nice and comfortable. I'd stay here again without hesitation and would recommend to anyone. Great location. June 6, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent, friendly staff I have never been to a hotel where the staff was as courteous and helpful as this hotel. This was my second stay here and that stands out above anything else. June 6, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A New Orleans "must" stat there Staff, service and experience was perfect. Located adjoining The Burbon Room, a wonderful Brennan's resturant! June 5, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love this hotel! I absolutely love this hotel! Every time I stay here it is unbelievably clean and the service is incredibly friendly. I don't believe there is a better, safer, and more convenient location than where this hotel is situated in New Orleans/French Quarter. We always walk to Harrah's, the French Quarter, and the numerous restaurants within a short distance out the front door. I've stayed at several other hotels in and around the French Quarter that were more expensive but were not nearly as clean, conveniently located, and friendly. June 5, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great experience every time Astor Crowne Plaza is 'our' place to stay every time we visit New Orleans. Staff is pleasant, courteous and accommodating. The rooms are clean, comfortable beds, and housekeeping is wonderful. Price is reasonable esp for the quality of service. On Canal at Bourbon St, you couldn't have a better location. Just blocks from Harrah's as well. Last stay was for niece's wedding where we had a block of rooms. The Bourbon House, located in the hotel, hosted the rehearsal dinner which was excellent. I just love staying there. They make you feel like you are the only guest. Great workout area and pool too. June 1, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ideal location, and comfortable beds Great hotel , rooms are average size and beds were comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Price is a little high for a family vacation, but we were told to stay within the area for safety sake. We encountered no problems during our visit. May 30, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by parking problems The parking for this hotel is not convenient, and the concierge whom I asked about valet said it was expensive and suggested that I drive around the corner and park in the parking gargage one block behind the property. He gave me incorrect informaion on locating the garage. Traffic is TERRIBLE so it literally took 20 minutes to make it back to the front of the hotel. I again asked about valet, and ended up having to pay almost $30 in ADDITION to the $30 you are charged to park in their garage. When departing the next morning, we had to wait more than 20 minutes for our car to be brought to us. We tried to call in advace to have it waiting, but that option was not offered. I think the wait is due to the fact that there is no parking on the premisis and the place they valet is down the street. Next time I will stay somewhere else. May 30, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Conference hotel Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights for a conference. Request a quiet room if you intend to sleep well. The executive floor is worth the upgrade with breakfast and happy hour served there. Enjoyed the breakfast offered there very much. Catering staff was excellent. Location is truly in the middle of everything. Not a quiet, get away from it all hotel. Convenient to walking to shops, restaurants, etc. May 29, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Big Disappointment The location is good but the staff and the cleanliness of the rooms and beds are unacceptable. Heavy dust all over the room on all fixtures TV, Lamps, headboard, etc. The carpets are very dirty and seems are not vacuumed daily. There was a pcs of paper under the bed and table, which remained there through our stay. The sheets feel like someone slept there before>>>> May 27, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best in N.O. I love this town with all it's grit and grime but I want a clean and comfortable place to sleep. Crown Plaza fits that bill. The hotel has all the comforts of home, even better beds. I think the best executive floor of anywhere I've ever stayed. I wish I could stay there every time I'm in the Big Easy. Accessible to anywhere I want to go,this is the only hotel for me. Everyone I bumped into at the hotel was kind and courteous, this is important to any stay. Hope this is helpful to anyone looking for a wonderful stay in this wonderful city that has such a rich history and flat out the best food in the country. May 26, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Room was hot Room was hot. The smoke alarm was hanging wit wires sticking out but biggest problem was the AC did not cool the room May 24, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great staff & location Great staff from the time we pulled up to park vallet until the time we checked out. Very helpful and accommodating. Great location especially if you are wanting to be safe and close to Bourbon Street. Beds were very comfy. Always had hot water. Will be staying here again for future trips to New Orleans. May 24, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location and staff Girls trip with 9 of us total... Could not have picked a better location. Staff was so friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend if you want to be close to all excitement but once inside the hotel, you feel secured away from the craziness. Comfortable and large rooms. Cannot wait to go back again!!! May 24, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Small rooms, but excellent location After adjusting to the small room, the stay was great. Located on Canal street and on the edge of French Quarter was perfect! May 24, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great location for Borbon Street fun We loved the location. It was my first time in New Orleans and the hotel met every expectation for the price and location. Won't stay there again because we will want to stay in a quieter location next time. The rooms were not especially clean, the lobby bar was always closing early, but the staff was wonderful. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not coming back I was in New Orleans for a business conference last week and the problems started from day 1. When I checked in I was given a double bed rather than the king I reserved. It wasn't a big deal, since it was just me. The window in the room was tiny, 18x24" I would assume. On top of that, it didn't even open. By far the smallest window I have ever had in a hotel. Wifi is $10/day per device, and tends to be a pain to connect. In this day and age, that is just unacceptable. There are plenty of hotels out there with free wifi. Paying for internet was the minor problem. The second day I was there, the hotels internet went out at 9 am (After I had already paid for both of my devices for the day). The internet remained down for the rest of my stay (2 more days). Not only me, but everyone else in the conference was either out of luck, or stuck trying to do work on their cell phones. I will not being staying at a Crowne Plaza hotel again. May 21, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Less than desired Something changed here because in the past this property was different. My door was opened by security while I was sleeping "to ensure my key worked". I never complained it didn't This was at 9:30 at night. Rooms are very small and I yielded to service people with carts instead of them waiting for me to pass May 20, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great location, but beware valet parking and front desk staff. Overall, our experience at the Crowne plaza was an enjoyable one. There are a just a few things to note. I booked this property through its website specifically because it had a special for free valet parking, and called to confirm this with a representative. However, when I was checking in I was informed I would have to pay $32ish a night for this service. After having to show them on my phone how I booked it and everything they agreed not to charge me for the parking. When we arrived to the room, we discovered someone else's luggage already unpacked in the room. We went down and were told we were accidentally given the wrong room and got another one down the hall which was just fine. The trip went great and nothing went wrong until they slid the bill for checkout under the door. Guess what...they charged for parking. I had to go back down to the front desk where they acted like they had no clue that I wasn't supposed to pay for the parking, but eventually they gave way and made good on their word after going to talk to the manager. I would recommend this property, but only if you're extremely organized to prevent getting overcharged for things you were supposed to receive for free. May 17, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great stay I had a great stay at the Crown Plaza. Room was a little stiff and dark, but the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. May 17, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful hotel We enjoyed three nights at this lovely hotel. The staff was very professional and courteous. The gentlemen who helped us with our luggage and in obtaining numerous cabs were extremely helpful and polite. My husband uses a wheelchair and the guys were very kind in assisting us. Our room was lovely and the bed was extremely comfortable. May 16, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pleasant stay Pleasant stay; pleasant, attentive staff; excellent location May 16, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Dissapointment If all you care about is a good location, this is the hotel for you. If you care about how well you're treated, stay clear of this hotel. Our view was of a brick wall. When you're paying a few hundred a night, you should be warned of this, I think. A friend of mine was blatantly insulted by a bartender in the bar, the manager could have cared less. We had equally bad service in the Oyster bar. I used to stay at Crown Plaza's frequently when I traveled for work. This stay made me change my opinion of the chain. May 15, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel We were in New Orleans for Jazzfest. We found the hotel to be clean, quiet and professionally operated. The room was cleaned daily and was always quiet. The location was the best feature with downtown shopping and the French Quarter just steps away. The Superdome, the river area and casinos were all within walking distance. Getting a cab never took more than a few seconds. The staff was polite, friendly, and competent. May 14, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by ACOG Conference Bed was too high for most people. My necklace was stolen from the soap dish located in the restroom. I have called everyday since we checked out to see if it turned in. Takes at least 20-30 minutes for the water in the shower to become hot. May 13, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect hotel for a NOLA stay The Astor Crowne Plaza has everything I look for when selecting a hotel: easy transportation from and to the airport, location central to what I plan to see, high quality and tasteful decor of the physical building, guest rooms and amenities, exceptional customer service and value for room rate. I will definitely return here the next time I visit New Orleans! May 11, 2013
