Fantastic service

The woman who checked me in was incredibly friendly and treated me exceedingly well as a rewards member. The room was clean and comfortable, and my sole complaint is that the skylight needs cleaning. I will be staying at the Crowne Plaza on my next overnight trip to New Orleans.

Foolish rules, absurd overcharging

I arrived at the hotel at 1 p.m. having stayed up all night and all morning traveling, and hoping to get some rest before the activities began that evening for the convention I was attending.
But the staff said that check-in was at 4 p.m., and there was nothing they could do about it.
How is it possible that check-out time is 11 a.m., and they didn't have ONE SINGLE ROOM AVAILABLE until 4 p.m. It takes them five hours to clean a room?
This ruined a full day, and nearly undermined my health.

And then -- you charged way too much for Wifi! Get into the twenty-first century please. Wifi should be offered for free to all guests.

Mold in the closet and bathroom

I stayed at this hotel for a conference from the 26th-28th. For the amount of money I paid to stay at this hotel I was really not pleased. First, whe I understand check in is at 4pm, I called in advance to ensure I would have a room before that time because my flight arrived very early in the morning. Despite calling in advance and being told that I would have a room available to me at check in, once I arrived at the hotel at 845, a room was not made available to me until 4pm. That is just poor customer service. Second, once a room became available I was unhappy with the overall cleanliness of the room. My room had black mold on the ceiling and in the closet. They tried to hide it behind the ironing board where there were cob webs. Moreover, in most hotels the cleaning staff vacuums the floor everyday. Not at this hotel. They did clean the bathrooms but they certainly did not vacuum or take very serious the necessity to be very thorough in their cleaning.

Having said all that, this hotel is in the French quarter and I really appreciated the direct access to bourbon street. Nevertheless, I would not stay at this hotel agsin nor do I recommend it to people interested in cleanliness.

Nice room, no parking

My experience was below average when it came to parking. I had to leave my car on the busy world famous Canal Street and unload my luggage. My car was taken to another parking site and I was charged a substantial amount for parking it. When I read the website and it stated car parking available, I assumed that it would be parked in the hotel parking garage. This hotel does not have a parking garage. My room rate was acceptable until all the extra taxes and parking was added for a 31% increase in price. All of these fees should be listed on the website as well as no parking garage on site.
