When we checked in the staff were really busy and a tad on the rude side. We were sort of rushed by staff. We were given room 629 on the older side of the building. The room was extremely small and uncomfortable. The view was a destroyed brick parking structure. I called the front desk and requested another room due to the extremely cramped quarters we were given. I spoke with a young man named Dane who told us that we would need to wait an hour because it was turn over time (they were cleaning rooms people checked out of ) and then he would have one available. About 30 minutes later Dane called and told us that they had a room on the newer side of the building that would meet our needs. When I arrived in the new room 926 I was pleasantly surprised. The room was much bigger and nicer than the one we were previously given.

I would recommend anyone staying at this hotel ask to be on the newer/renovated side of the hotel. Also, if you're looking for a quiet room ask to be away from the elevator. We had the first room next to the elevator (I didn't ask to move again because we were grateful for the first room change)

Dane was an excellent help during our stay and I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Great location

January 22, 2015

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It is in a perfect location right on Bourdon St. Nice, friendly staff that greeted us every step of the way during our stay. We did have an issue with the heat in out room, but it was immediately fixed. Loved this hotel and will stay again.

Great hotel- worst front desk experience

January 22, 2015

This hotel is in an ideal location. The price is great for the hotel. The rooms are a great size. The beds are comfy and the bathroom was big. The valet boys and concierge are the sweetest welcome and a huge help given the busy pace of the hotel. However, brace yourself for the rude front desk receptionists. They were not welcoming, they did not act like they wanted to help and never appeared to be grateful they have a job at all with their poor professionalism. At one point I stood by the front desk for 15 minutes with no line while a woman never looked up from the counter to greet me. She was avoiding attending to her guests by keeping her head low and looking like she was attending to other matters. I patiently waited until I realized she was going to play the "I don't see you" game for longer than 15 min, when I interrupted whatever she must have been doing just to ask what the check out time was. Her answer was short, with a condescending tone, and an "I don't need to speak to you" attitude. I am a huge advocate for customer service. It is the make or break of my stay. Which is why I will not be returning to this hotel not recommending it to friends and colleagues and leaving ihg stays on an only when absolutely necessary basis. I would rather pay a fortune more than to be funding salaries to people that don't deserve them.
