The interior of the hotel and room was comfortable; however, I noticed the shower walls had either mold or mildrew on the grout and I was coughing a lot since I like most people have an allergy to mold. I was reacting to something in the hotel because I noticed on the road trip back home the coughing had stopped almost completely. I didn't have the cough until I got there. I had been to New Orleans a few years ago and stayed at a different hotel and didn't have any breathing or coughing problems. The loading/unloading zone in front of the hotel is inadequate, but there isn't much that can be done about that. All the staff I talked to were fantastic and helpful. I didn't have much time to see the sights, but I did walk around some of the French Quarter and enjoyed the restaurants. Based solely on the allergen and the parking I don't recommend this hotel.

We stayed on Memorial Day weekend which was especially busy for the hotel, but it was a mad house! I have IHG platinum status and there was a REALLY long check-in and then a separate roped line for platinum status. I was thankful to get in that line, only to be told they don't use that and I need to go to back and wait 20 min. We got up to our room and it was one king bed instead of 2 queens bed so we had to move rooms right off the bat. In the next room the AC was broken, they came in two times for over 20 min while we were in the room and tired to fix it. They could not and offered us a FAN! It is 90 degrees, I told them they needed to move us. We moved and the next room was fine. The next day we called for the car 1 hour early as they told us to and our car was not ready. It look an additional 45 min to get the car making us late for the bridal shower. I was with the Bride! This was a major problem that no one apologized for once. Later that night my mom went back to the room while I was out and her key did work for the door. She went to the front desk and they said that no one was staying in our room and that they had no reservation for her. After 20 min they finally agreed to let her in the room and made sure that the tags on the luggage matched her ID. What a mess to have to go through when you just want to go to bed. The next morning we checked in at the desk to make sure they knew we were in the room and our reservations was back in the computer just fine? There was just no service, no attention to detail, and no relaxation. The pool is really tiny as well so not expect to relax there. Overall, not worth the money and I really wished I had stayed somewhere else.

Watch out if you will need an extra hide-a-bed because they pulled some nonsense about you can only get one of those if you are in a room with 1 bed! The website definitely doesn't clarify that and it will make for immediate serious issues if you had an extra person staying.

Good Place to stay

We stayed here the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. We would have stayed a second night but they were sold out. The location is great, close to, but not on Burbon St. Valet parking staff were attentive and quick. The staff at the desk were friendly. We arrived at 10 am and were lucky enough to be able to check in and get our room right away. That is a great big plus for us! View from 7th floor was nice. Room was on the end and very quiet.
