Upon arrival whilst I was unloading my wheelchair bound sister and my 60 year old mother (myself being 6 months pregnant) I was asked by the bellboy if I'd like a trolley for our bags. You know what, I don't want a trolley I want you to do your job and take them up to our room! At reception I requested such and when the bags were brought to our room the bellboy wanted to whinge that they were heavy! Of course they are heavy! You try packing for a 27yr old disabled woman lightly! The next morning I noticed 2 used towels hanging behind the bathroom door obviously from previous guests. I left them on the floor at the front door and told recepetion on our way out. 4 hours later when we returned they were still there!! I called reception and immediately the first friendly staff memeber came up stairs to remove them. Dirty towels... seriously, not good enough for the crowne plaza. On our last day we went down for breakfast 5 adults, one in a wheelchair and were told there were no tables big enough to seat us. The restaurant was a third full and the hostess too lazy to put two tables together! This we did ourselves. Upon ckeckout I was asked if we'd like our bags brought down which of course we did. so we waited, and waited and waited and finally very disgruntled with the lack of service I hauled them downstairs myself. Thanks Crowne Plaza! Although the room was amazing and the views beautiful the lack of customer service throughout our stay was extremely disappointing. It seems like there is no hospitality left in hospitality.

Every room is a suite, good size.
Weekend special includes breakfast which was excellent, good variety and quality of food.
Seafood meal in restaurant nice, but spoilt by only one clam and limited amount of crab!

WHILST OUR STAY IN TWO LUXURIOUS ROOMS WAS booked for our bridal party. A VERY SPECIAL OCCASION, we were most dissapointed
1. upon arrival our car was parked by valet service and asked to have it returned for us in 30 minutes at 5 o clock so we could attend a VERY IMPORTANT CHURCH SERVICE. - we missed it!!!! the car was not bought up!!!
2. upon entering the room we were aware of a mustly smell. THERE WAS A LOAF MOULDY bread left.
2. there was NO second bed as requested! our bridesmaids and I had to SHARE BEDS!! nice on your night before your wedding!!!

The hotel is not only aesthetically lovely, the staff are welcoming and friendly. The hotel is in a great location, close to good bars and restaurants, and right on the water. The rooms were very clean and well-appointed. I will be back for sure!

i have already phoned the hotel and expressed my positive opinion. A group of 12 mature people (6 couples) met at the Crowne for a weekend on 12-14 April 2013. From the moment we stepped into the hotel we felt special. Nothing was ever too much trouble or effort. We found the rooms to be very spacious, clean and modern. We found the lobby area where we met a couple of times for drinks very good and appreciated the great guitarist singer. The bar staff were very friendly and not pushy. The little bar snacks were an added bonus. We found the breakfast to be one of th best we have ever had and we have travelled widely. Once gain the staff were great and didn't rush us. We came across some staff in different capacities/roles who did all roles well. The staff seemed well trained and very efficient. The location of the hotel is great and the view over the river lovely. We could not fault this hotel and would stay again and recommend it to others.

Went to Newcastle for a wedding and had family staying in a number of venues around. All commented that the facilities here were great. All paid similar for parking without the valet service. The staff were fantastic particularly Stephenie on the front desk. The room was great particularly the view of the harbour. We will definitely be back.

Great location if you want to leave the car and walk for a change. Lots of dining options within a few minutes. The highlight was watching the boats / ships go by from the comfort of our room, very relaxing. Great overall experience. Not your cheapest option but book early and you get similar rates as last minute deals.

My girlfriend and I stayed in a Harbourside King Spa room recently for our first anniversary. The room complimented the weekend perfectly! Spacious, clean, and well appointed. It had everything we needed, and more. It was the perfect choice to round out a perfect weekend. The huge bed was very comfortable, the room was very clean and tidy, the view was magic, staff were faultless, valet parking extremely handy and reasonably priced. And to top it off the big jet spa in our room! We spent more than 2hrs in there relaxing. It was superb. The whole stay was faultless, and it's proximity to the honeysuckle wharf and dining options is unbeatable. The only thing we would have liked was longer hours for the pool, but we did approach the desk at 10-11pm, so that was a lil cheeky I suppose :P Overall stay 10/10. We'd go back in a heartbeat. Thank you Crowne Plaza Newcastle!!

I had a great 2 week stay at the Crowne Plaza Newcastle. The restaurant was great. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with great views of the harbour. I would stay here again. It was great having complimentary access to the gym next door - great for fitness lovers.

Being the occasion of our 25th wedding anniversary,I wanted somewhere special for my wife and myself for a relaxing weekend.I dont think I could have done better.Our stay was a great experience and a wonderful surorise for my wife.
After a lovely lunch at Honeysuckle we arrived back to our room to find the staff had left a nice bottle of champaigne and a card for us. A very nice gesture.
Thankyou to all the staff from bookings to housekeeping for a wonderful weekend.
So if anyone is looking for a good place to stay in Newcastle, this is it.
Reccomend it highly.

Good option for a weekend getaway. Went to Bacchus Restaurant near he hotel for dinner and had the degustation with matching wines which was phenomenal. In the hotel the pool was decent and so too the breakfasts.

Always enjoy staying at the Crowne Plaza Newcastle. Escaped for the weekend. Arrived after a long, wet and stressful drive and was greeted like an old friend. The staff are always delightful and ready to help with good service and advice. The spacious room had a great outlook across the foreshore as well as comfy bed and pillows, which guarantee a great night's sleep. The other major drawcard is the location - close enough to walk down town or the beach and lots of good restaurants to meet up with friends for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

I have been staying at Crowne Plaza for quite some time.. Almost every week since Feb and this is the best place to be in Newcastle. Rooms are very clean and spacious. Harbour view from room is so beautiful..Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful.. Breakfast is the one other thing I love the most.. Haven't seen such a great one anywhere..
The only draw back is the expensive internet which is too slow after the capped usage of 350MB! CP has to work on it. I would suggest an unlimited internet service for the money I pay
Will definitely recommend this hotel ;)

Serivce was excellent and the accommodation extremely comfortable. My only negative review is that of the cost of parking which is too expensive especially if you are a guest at the hotel.

The first thing you notice about the Crowne Hotel Newcastle is the very welcoming and helpful staff at the front counter. Fast, easy check in and check out.
I ordered room service, which arrived quickly, very tasty and still hot... a pleasant change from other hotels I have stayed at recently. Also, I highly recommend the buffet breakfast - again friendly staff and fantastic food.
The rooms are a great size, I had a harbour view room, which was fantastic. It felt like a small one bedroom apartment rather than a hotel and with a big table to do work on in the evening.
On check out it was raining and the front reception insisted on giving me an umbrella. All in all - my experience was very positive and would happily stay there again.

Enjoyed our weekend away after working in the Newcastle area! Great location & facilities. Helpful & friendly staff with good knowledge of the local area. Very comfortable bedding & pillows. Great air conditioning during such a hot time as well. Will defiantly be returning.
