Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by charlie218 Awesome service,
When staying at this hotel, the guest services were very accomodating. When I arrived home, 5 hours away, I realized I had left something very important in my room. My daughters pillow, one she has had her whole life of 15 years, was there. I called them at once and was reassured that it was kept and placed in the security room. sure enough when I called back in the morning it was. They had placed it in a plastic bag with my room, date and name on it. they mailed it to me the same day. I really thought it would have been thrown away. It was such a relief to have it back for my daughter,.They never assumed it was unimportant even though it appeared to be just a raggy old pillow.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by lml11 Worst Customer Service Experience and Embarrassment Ever Felt
I have worked in customer service for 10+ years. Unless someone has intentionally done something horrible, or vandalized property etc. you have to treat the customer with the utmost respect and be courteous....always. I have never encountered such awful hospitality by management. It is baffling that this particular manager and her counterpart got into hotel hospitality. Intercontinental Hotels should be embarrassed by these people at this particular hotel.
I drove over 8 hours with my son and my 15 pound peekapoo to take my son to his first Celtics game and ended up being rudely escorted out of my room at 10 o'clock at night. I was not able to explain, they gave me no options or other alternatives in this situation. This was an innocent mistake. They just rudely said " You have to leave immediately." Even after the hotel front desk personnel watched my check in with my dog and son. I had to wake up my child, get him out of bed and pack us up. It was the most miserable experience I have ever had.
I ended up driving around aimlessly looking for a hotel at almost midnight, that allowed my small, hypoallergenic dog. :( Awful!
So there is an incredibly strict policy on "no pets" yet service animals are allowed. I would have been fine with the situation if alternatives were given to me, and the management team would have been more customer-oriented and sympathetic, if you will, on how far I had traveled and the fact that I have traveled and stayed on so many occasions with ICH. The situation needed to be addressed and staff should be more hospitable. I had to pay a 200$ "cleaning" fee, along with my stay for the entire night, even though we were there for a couple hours! They treated me like I was an alien. A 2 hour stay at this hotel cost me over 400$. For a single mother, it was a nightmare. The embarrassment of this ordeal with haunt me. I also felt so strongly that something should be done about the customer service and hospitality of management that I felt compelled and it was my duty to make this review.
I was tempted to start going through another brand of affiliated hotels after this incident. I was a Gold member with Intercontinental Hotels for a number of years, I still am a PriorityClub Rewards member at Club status now, and this is only because so many other hotels affiliated with this chain have been incredible, and very accommodating throughout my travels and stays. Also, this was the first hotel associated with ICH that I have seen NOT allow pets, and have such a strict policy on it. Maybe Crowne Plaza in Newton needs to revise their policy on both the employment of staff and management, customer service and pets. Disappointed.

My room (613) was right over the highway facing oncoming traffic. The room was noisy from highway traffic and the trains. It was difficult to sleep. The room needs better sound proofing.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Pinkestdaisy Great value! But some unpleasantness...
Our overall okay experience we a bit marred by ongoing and early in the morning construction. It was in the way of the entrance. Was surprised to also see 6 mo expired elevator permits on display. On a hot weekend, we were thankful for powerful AC but it was extremely loud and cycled on and off very quickly. I would also suggest the hotel come up with a streamlined solution so that at any given time you don't have to take a ticket for parking, but also show your hotel parking ticket to be let out of the lot.
The hotel is situated over the highway and provided for a very cool view and wasnt noisy at night at all. It was rather a unique and pretty city view!

Wow! Where do I begin? The hotel is built OVER the Mass Pike. You get a great view of cars driving under you. They were doing renovation to the front of the hotel, which was blocked off. They had a very large generator set running, which was unbelievably noisy. The entire environment was extremely unpleasant.
We had arranged for a late (1pm) check out on our room. When we tried to enter the room at 12:05pm, the key card wouldn't work. The desk said that ALL keycards expired at noon, regardless of late checkout! Come on guys! This is very simple to program around!
The rooms were OK -- typical of what you would expect from this level of hotel. But the bathrooms had NO towel racks! After using a hand towel, I had absolutely NO place to put it, except on the edge of the sink! A classic example of form over function.
Next time I will DEFINITELY go somewhere else.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bookworm56 Very nice hotel, but traffic noise and room register was another story
The hotel, room, and staff were superior. The only problem was the noise of the in-room register and the expressway traffic. Actually, the traffic noise was not so bad, like a low hum. The air-conditioning unit however, was awful. It was loud and constant. We actually turned it off during the night so that we could sleep. The room got quite warm, but it was worth it so that we could sleep through the night. Ear plugs were provided in the room, but something should be done with the heating/cooling unit to make them quieter.

The hotel is located on a highway. Lot of sound is coming in the room which disturbed my sleep. The Windows should be made sound proof. No parking facilities. The hotel is using parking facility of a private operator. I was not happy with the stay and switched my stay to a different hotel from next week.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by BPer noisy
Unfortunately, this hotel is extremely noisy. My room was on the 11th floor and all I heard all night long was the noise from the turnpike. The only thing that drowned out that noise was the airconditioner when it kicked on! The bathtub had some strange gritty substance, which also really bothered me. For the price of the room and the fact that you charge your guests to park in the garage, it was not a good value.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Han35 Noisy and expensive
Hotel is right on the highway, and it feels. Room had massive traffic noise day and night. I asked to change rooms and the second one was better although still somewhat noisy. Wifi is free but had very bad signal in the room and could barely work. Guesr services sent engineering but were unable to fix it and i think its bad network coverage design. Rooms were relatively expensive. Overall i would not come back.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beth57 Charged for parking???
Motel is great, staff and service was wonderful... BUT - I thought it was AWFUL that I was charged for parking after booking a stay there for 4 nights!! SERIOUSLY? I spent over $800 and you still have to charge me for parking? I was told the motel didn't own the parking garage, but I would think what money is made by the motel would more than cover the cost of parking. On top of that, I only parked in the garage 2 nights, but my bill put under my door on the morning we were checking out - I was charged for 3 nights of parking. Of course the front desk corrected that, but do other guests get over charged?

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by kirusia super clean rooms and delicious breakfast, that's all.
I have to say,the room was super clean that i walked bare feet. It smelled sooo good in the room and towels were soft and fresh. Front desk staff wasn't what i expected. I wasn't expecting a red carpet but a smile would do. The breakfast downstairs at Martha's was delicious. Didn't have a chance to see the swimming pool. If you have issues about anything, talk to hotel manager Bridget, she is very nice! For the price that we paid,it's not worth it. Add a little extra and find a hotel downtown of Boston.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Heva Only if you are prepared for the noise
Hotel is very nice and great staff too. Highway noise is huge, but not louder than the very noisy air conditioning. If you can sleep through that, you'll be fine. Very convenient for the Boston suburbs, getting into town and visiting the outskirts. And with reasonable parking as well.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by LGBC Convenient and reasonable
Overall, our stay was enjoyable. The hotel is conveniently located above the Mass Pike in Newton so it was close to where we were going. The staff was very nice although we requested adjoining rooms in advance but we we not given that option upon arrival. Two things I would like to mention, there are no towel racks in the bathroom so there is no place to hang a towel to dry and limited counterspace. Also, we found goldfish on the floor just under the bedspread which was then obvious the cleaning crew did not vacuum.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Fenway1912 Great AND bad location, loud AC
You get what you pay for. I think this hotel provides great value for the money compared to other Boston area hotels. However, $ does not lie. I stayed at this hotel numerous times and it was always fine but I always stayed in winter.
The location is great, just on top of the I-90. Boston is literally a $3.50 bus ride away on the express bus or a 15 min ride on the I-90. With the location HOWEVER, comes the con. I stayed at the 11th floor and I could hear the cars, trucks and trains. Not a huge deal but if you're a really light sleeper, you'd hate it.
The AC however is really loud and in summer basically comes on and off very often. Without the AC it's really warm and muggy so, no choice. Perhaps, I should have worn my noise cancelling headphones just like sleeping in an airplane.
Other than that - it's great... parking is convenient and of great value. The little restaurant/café is decent too.
Would I stay here again? Maybe not in summer unless I learn to sleep with the noise.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Graduation201300000000 Worked well for Boston College graduation
All hotels in Boston raise prices during May graduations. This hotel was fine to get to Boston College graduation. Staff was helpful with bags. Downside- nothing around there so no where to eat or even get a coffee. Noisy since it is directly over the freeway. Did let us check in early due to being a Priority Club member.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BCPARENTS13 Great location comfort and value
This hotel is perfectly located for visiting Boston College and
was a great place to stay for graduation events. We could avoid traffic by taking the back roads to the college. The staff was very helpful and did all they could to make our stay comfortable. Yes, you can hear the traffic from the highway, but the air conditioner fan drowned most of the noise out. The hotel also offers a great BC rate.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by TheMacNeils Great Stay! WIll recommened and return!
My wife and I booked two nights here for an impromptu mini vacation for our wedding anniversary. We were located close to the city center without paying high prices. Our parking was $9/night - VERY reasonable. The hotel was easy to find right off the turnpike - and contrary to others, the noise of the highway passing below us did not bother us at all. Staff was helpful when directing us to locations, and the bus route (the #504 took us right downtown - walking distance to the Aquarium, Fanueil Hall, and many other sights - same bus took us right back to the hotel - trip is about 15-20 minutes! $4.50/person) This hotel was clean, comfortable and had a great location! What more could we have needed? Oh, wifi..that was included too! And if you choose to stay here...try the Pizza place across the street, Max and Leo's - best pizza we've ever tried! We were sad they weren't open early enough to grab one to take home! Thanks again from two very happy Canadians! :)

I stay a lot at CPs all over the US. Usually I am very happy. This was not great. No recognition of my Priority Club membership, even tho' it was right there on the reservation. Did not feel welcomed at all, rather a burden on reception. Room did not have the usual sleep amenities I find everywhere else [and love]. AC was noisy, but when turned off the traffic was noisier.
