Comfortable bed, but property needs serious upgrades

By

April 19, 2015

This hotel is located in the 'old' section of Niagara Falls, adjacent to the old casino. It's about 20 minutes walk to the new casino. The property looks dated both outside and inside. We stayed on the top floor in an executive room. We had to take 2 elevators to get up there and the 2nd elevator was very rickety and shaky. The room is quite small, the bed was comfortable, with a good mattress and pillows. The room and bathroom were clean, but the room was too hot and the temperature control didn't seem to work. There was a bad smell in the room when we returned in the evening. Check in and check out were fast and efficient. Staff were courteous. We only stayed for 1 night, so we didn't bother to complain about the temperature and smell, but will not come here again. We'll probably stay in 1 of the properties adjacent to the new casino next time.

Dear jackf2, Thank you for your review. I apologize that you did not fully enjoy your stay at our vintage property. Indeed, given that the hotel is 85 years old, some of our rooms are a bit modest in size. Your review assists us in improving our hotel moving forward. At your service, Joseph Legace General Manager

Very disappointing rooms. Didn't add reward points. said it was because I was booked on a deeply discounted rate. Rate was higher than the following week.

not a happy camper

my wife complained about stains on the tub edge that looked like blood

I was there on the waterpark pkg, but you charged me a resort fee that really meant nothing to me. I basically paid $10 for 2 bottles of water. As for the wifi, I'm an IHGrewards member and I'm supposed to get that free anyways. Didn't get any of the other stuff.

the hotel website for this location does not have info all in one place, must visit different links.

Also charged PF or the tourist fee. Was told this fee help funds things like the fireworks, festivals, etc... Here's a thought, why dont you charge the tourists that go/stay at niagara for those things that the fee funds.

Got a canned email to do a survey and wrote back to the GM (email provided in the survey email) but yet to hear back from my inquiry.

Your observation on the tub is particularly alarming and I will follow up with my team on that- I offer my sincere apologies for that. Your feedback is very helpful in assisting my team and i to improve our hotel moving forward. At your service, Joseph Legace General Manager

This hotel is right acoss the Rainbow bridge. The room i booked was not big enough for my family, so they offer us a bigger room at no extra cost. The view of the Falls from my room was excellent.
